I'm so glad you reacted to this!! I love Bad Wolves, just saw them live friday and they performed this song. He cried towards the end when the whole crowd was singing it.
Here's an interesting fact for you Alex: A couple years back, Ivan Moody (Five Finger Death Punch's lead singer) was kicked off the tour by his bandmates and put into rehab. Needing an interim frontman for the remainder of the tour, they turned to one of their opening acts, Bad Wolves. So for part of a U.S. tour, Tommy Vext sang lead vox for 5FDP. Afterwards, Ivan was very gracious of the up and comer and thanked him for helping his band in their time of need. How cool is that?!
This was a first listen for me though. I'd heard Zombie and knew about the band but this was my first time hearing this song. Pretty sad.
Also, I knew Simon just by his voice after the video ended. And no, he's not a "metal head" but his first metal concert was backstage an Knotfest so he's already cooler than me. He's definitely overdue another metal reaction though. If I were to suggest, I would say "Smells Like A Freakshow" by Avatar. Dude needs to hear some Avatar.

I know a lot of people "like" them for their zombie cover. But I've followed this band since the day Learn To Live dropped. The low tuned guitars, amazing vocals and the diversity this supergroup has made has blown my mind since day 1. I absolutely love them and they will always be one of my favorite bands! Also, Tommy Vext is an amazing person and has been through hell. Being killed by his brother, addiction, unsuccessful bands. He has finally found his place!!! Such an inspiration and class act.

“I’m so tired of the violence, I’m so tired of the silence” Man, you can hear in his voice how exhausted he is. I can’t imagine how weary carry around something like this would make your soul. I love this song so much. This is the kind of vulnerability that shows how strong of a man he is.
When I first heard this song it was heartbreaking. Last month I saw them live and I cried a lot when they performed this song.

My favorite song. The back story is so crazy. If you haven't & you get the chance, read the whole story. It's crazy. What he went through & overcame is just... Wow. His music is just a whole nother level.
Great tune. Tragic that it's based on real events, but definitely drives the point home that we are each the sum of our life choices.

Yes I waited forever for you to react to this song literally made my night after coming home from work seeing this pop up I was like YESSSSS had to watch it befor anything because that is what heavy metal is about it's real emotional moments based on real life situations that they go through in everyday life this song literally saved my life a year ago I was going through some very personal issues in my life and when this song came out I broke down when I heard it because I felt that Tommy knew how I was feeling and what I was going through I had it on repeat for a year straight this song literally saved my life got to see them live in 2018 was front row when they played this I got goosebumps if it wasn't for this song I would have taken my own life so thank you so much for reacting to this it ment alot to me :)

Better Off This Way by Bad Wolves is one of the songs that has truly hit home the hardest for me, the message in the song is heartbreaking yet empowering at the same time and you can truly gain an appreciation for the voice that's often times hidden behind the heavy metal stuff they do.

AFAIK, you haven't checked out a little band called Devildriver.
That's the band that Bad Wolves' drummer John Boecklin was in prior.
They have a fair back catalogue, but maybe give Simon a shot with 'Not All Who Wander Are Lost'.
Or... 'Clouds Over California'.
Both are killer songs, and are that touch more powerful than a lot of songs with their very pliable interpretations.
