Mark, that's amazing! Great effort. And thank you too for that appreciation, it feels like everyone should know what they're doing as every man and his dog are doing it. But yea, not easy. All the best xx
We have just had lithium batteries fitted, OMG what a game changer, we can watch telly past 8.30 pm 😂 Pottery throw down is one of my fav programmes, loved your pots, what a great pressie 🎉❤
Yesssss! Loving the lithium, we don’t ever need to run the engine now, unless we are actually cruising now, which is a complete game changer for us :) love the great pottery throw down! It is one of my favourite shows too!
One of my friends is a qualified pottery teacher, she made great stuff, she taught in a college, but left it to work in a museum now, she still dabbles I think, great job Ula 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥰🇬🇧xxx
Another great video this week! Interesting to learn about new things, such as anodes. The guys that did the blacking on your boat, and the electrician did a super job too. Look forward to next Sunday’s excursion 😊❤

The names welded into the anodes is such a nice touch!! 😊 & so happy you’ve got your electrics sorted. It really does make a huge difference! Hehe weird to see us in the preview, excited to see it! 👋🏻😊
That was so interesting. We’ve decided to look again into a narrowboat (we’re in Australia), we’ve had narrowboat holidays but now at 70 and 73 maybe having a few years in the UK and living the dream. Getting our dogs over there is the big thing, EXPENSIVE and we’re now waiting to hear back from the British Embassy to see if we can legally do it. Started looking at narrowboats and made enquires about out of water surveys and obviously blacking thus the great interest in your video. It was great, great timing too. LOVED the pottery, brilliant birthday present. Thanks heaps guys, see you in the next one, stay safe. 💕
@@UlaandJosh. No sadly we’re not, our ages came against us, health was going to cost a fortune though I must admit I thought as Australia was part of the Commonwealth health wouldn’t be a problem. Love seeing the pottery that Ula's doing. Did a spot of pottery myself in college along with weaving. Ula, have you done any weaving? So glad to hear that the hull is sound. That must be a comfort to you all. Looking forward to your further adventures on the canal and your side trips on land. Have a good week.
@@UlaandJosh I started with a small flat loom in college, and worked up to a 4 harness, 36" wide table loom later on. You might have enough space for a flat loom. With Josh's talents as well as yours, I bet you could whip up a dandy one right there on board. But my real passion is quilting, from wall hangings to king size bed quilts. I love experimenting with color and patterns.
Lovely pottery. I’m a Native American potter. I know what gos into the art. We call her Clay Lady. We say prayers before we start helping her form herself. She knows who she is we are the instrument she uses. I’m from New Mexico and part of the Pueblo tribe. We are well known for the pottery we produce. Enjoy the clay!💜😬🙏🏼
I don’t know if I’m online but my father is. Joseph Lonewolf . He also has a piece in the Smithsonian. He was very famous for his art. My aunt is Grace Medicine Flower. Our whole family’s pottery gos back generations. I learned from my father and my aunt and my grandfather, Camilo Sun Flower. It’s all in the family.
I’m from USA North Carolina. I live near the tiny town of Seagrove which is known for its wonderful potters. They make the most amazing pottery and have for generations. I have always loved that clay can be transformed into such beauty.
Love you guys ~ you should purchase a buddy heater ~ in the US that's what we take camping and it's run off of propane ~ just in case an emergency ever comes up ~you'll have an alternate heating source
You guys look so happy, no wonder why! The Raku looked so fun and it's great to see how you'll benefit from the upgrades to the boat. Very curious to know more about the anode thing though?
Hi Ula Josh well that was so interesting watching you doing you potty it was interesting watching you with the feather on the bowl and the super colours it came out of the Kilm so so beautiful and interesting,so the boat is being blacked it’s a messy job but worth it in the long run you have some big solar panels what a difference they will make, the washing machine sure you will find a place somewhere for it ,I bet it is cold in there with no heat 😊 ,you boat is sure beginning to look really good so till next time take care keep safe and warm ,John 🌹🇬🇧👀😢🫢🤔🤫🫣😇😙😉☺️😗
Great episode this week, loads done, i thought josh had fallen in the toilet but it was a face pack😂 loved the pottery. Solar panels. Wow you won't know yourselves. Could you probably explain next week what those things do that was welded to the hull, i guess it something to do with electrolysis. Have a great week, already waiting for Sunday.
Ho no 😮 just thinking about you guys as I look at what’s just come out of our bank account this month . £170 direct debit for our energy bill 😢. Your definitely doing the right thing. Love Trevor & Linda xxx
Ohhh guys, we really do feel for you! We've been there too! It's getting ridiculous. Don't get us wrong, we did have to invest thousands into this, but that's going to be it now 🙌
Ula Josh you are so doing the right thing. We both met late on in life and share the same loves. Number 1 walking the canel. Waiting for a hip replacement so you 2 are going to live the life that we would have loved. Trevor & Linda xxx
While you were taking the Propeller off pity you didn't have a weed cutter to put near the prop to slice those weeds and to prevent the prop getting tangled up.
Great Video guys well done on your boat yard week it’s a tuff week long hours and hard work. Looking forward to seeing the bathroom and compost loo going in. 👍
Great video Ula and Josh wow you certainly were busy but you must be so much happier with the solar and power now...ok I have no idea about blackening is it paint or like tar ?...I assume it's a waterproof coating though...what a nice pressie from Josh what a fabulous gift (Happy Birthday Ula)...thankyou for sharing xo 💜🇦🇺

I had such a laugh over Josh's mud pack 🤣 The high light for me was at about 9:28 , the way you synchronised the music to the beat of the hammer against the hull was genius. That must be a comfort to you all. Looking forward to your further adventures on the canal and your side trips on land. Have a good week.
I have never done any weaving before… but it is definitely something I would really love to try one day ✨✨
@@UlaandJosh I started with a small flat loom in college, and worked up to a 4 harness, 36" wide table loom later on. You might have enough space for a flat loom. With Josh's talents as well as yours, I bet you could whip up a dandy one right there on board. But my real passion is quilting, from wall hangings to king size bed quilts. I love experimenting with color and patterns.
Hey Josh and ula just checking in with love and light from aka Billy Trips south Spain 🙏
Much love and light to you William x
Thats a lot of work for a few days, well done, and almost fully off grid. And personal name plates as well.
Still recovering over here 🥴😵💫😝😁
Happy Birthday Ula hope it was as amazing as you are🥳your work on the pottery is beautiful.
Thanks Catherine :) my birthday was back in February 😝 but we finally got around to getting me in for the course
Good vlog. May Peace Health and Happiness follow you and yours
Thanks Bill x
And the boat had a birthday too!
yessss she got a serious upgrade :) lucky thing 😜
Lovely pottery. I’m a Native American potter. I know what gos into the art. We call her Clay Lady. We say prayers before we start helping her form herself. She knows who she is we are the instrument she uses. I’m from New Mexico and part of the Pueblo tribe. We are well known for the pottery we produce. Enjoy the clay!💜😬🙏🏼
Ohhhhhh please send me a link to where ai can see some of your work… your method and approach sounds beautiful ✨✨✨
@@UlaandJosh don’t know if this got to you
I’m from USA North Carolina. I live near the tiny town of Seagrove which is known for its wonderful potters. They make the most amazing pottery and have for generations. I have always loved that clay can be transformed into such beauty.
@@UlaandJosh Look up Susan Romero

Aww bless you Rose, thankyou for saying! Xx
Glad to hear the hull is in good shape 👍 loved the pottery...summer is nearly here guys...
Yeahhhhh we are loving the vibe along the cut when the sun comes out ☀️☀️☀️
Love you guys ~ you should purchase a buddy heater ~ in the US that's what we take camping and it's run off of propane ~ just in case an emergency ever comes up ~you'll have an alternate heating source
Thats a good shout... we have a diesel heater and a multi fuel stove on board... so we have two systems atleast for now :)
Another lovely vlog, love to you both
Thanks Steven x
You guys look so happy, no wonder why!
The Raku looked so fun and it's great to see how you'll benefit from the upgrades to the boat.
Very curious to know more about the anode thing though?
Thanks so much!! Really happy! But to be honest I am not the best to answer anything to do with anodes!! 🤪
All caught up so now like everyone else I await Sunday lol😊
Yeahhh so happy to have you along Paul x
You are doing a great job. I love watching your channel!😊
Thanks Steve x
I am so pleased with how the pottery turned out :) It was a big week wasn't it 🤪!!
Hehehe!! Josh does love a good pamper! I don’t think we would do it justice if we tried to explain what anodes are 😝
Ho no 😮 just thinking about you guys as I look at what’s just come out of our bank account this month .
Perhaps one day in the future hey :)
Great Video guys well done on your boat yard week it’s a tuff week long hours and hard work. Looking forward to seeing the bathroom and compost loo going in. 👍
Thanks so much Peter!! Stay tuned x
I know.... I am a very lucky girl :) It is a bitumen coating! It needs to be redone every two ish years
@@UlaandJosh yes you definitely have found a keeper Ula...and yes thought it was bitumen does it have that horrible smell...I seriously hate driving on newly made road's yuck 🤷♀️
Well, I'm sorry, but I have to complain, that's just not good enough. 21 minutes and 30 seconds... it just isn't long enough 😉☺
Another great episode, thank you both. I had such a laugh over Josh's mud pack 🤣 The high light for me was at about 9:28 , the way you synchronised the music to the beat of the hammer against the hull was genius. I really appreciate the work that goes into the editing.
Can't wait for the next video, thanks for sharing both of you, 5⭐'s
Thanks so much Gordon!! Josh is always doing face masks 😝 he bloody loves them !! Thanks for the kind comments on the editing too xx
Really enjoyed this video glad your hull wasn't too bad can't wait for next
Thanks Phil!! Yeah luckily it’s in good condition :)
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤yay beautiful copper and turquoise..
Wasn't it just!! So amazing the result xx
