Community! Yes! I just had a great conversation with someone in my running club about the LA fires and masking/being covid cautions. I’m watching another running friend’s dogs next weekend, too!
I volunteer teaching English to immigrants at my library and I have a DnD group. Right now my goal to do better is to take better care of my physical and mental health and to go to some PTA and school board meetings. When I’m more out of the postpartum period I plan on running for school board and using my social work degree again to community organize.
Yesss community! I’m considering either running or working on aggregating/reporting on news like that - I’m very new to my current location, so I feel a little funny speaking for this community quite so soon. We need young people in charge!!
Also, the health thing was literally something I thought about yesterday. We have to be kind to our bodies and give them what they need (food, sleep, water, sunlight, exercise), otherwise we will lose ourselves to the horrors
I decided in December to host local nerd events this year. I am regularly traveling 2+ hours for nerd events when I live in an area of lots of gay nerds and relatively few local events.

Whew! I already know someone running for office, so I’m safe.

I hate that being on SSDI and Medicaid means I can’t run for even local office without the risk of loosing that.
I didn't know we couldn't run for office while on medicaid. Second class citizens.
