TOYOTA AYGO NEW AND OLD MODELS COMPARED

  • The old model was well equipped with daytime running lights, as with the new model, but that has front fog lights as well. The engine feels much more lively and is so efficient it doesn't have to pay any road tax.There is a maximum speed limiter which can be switched in if required. The car feels firmer on the road and climbs hills much better. We will wait to see if is as economic as the original on petrol!

    That was a great video, I really enjoyed it. Nice to see the practical details that other reviews miss out, such as the screen operation and spare wheel (or lack thereof!), although I think you can order a space saver as an option.

    Really helpful video I nearly purchased a 2010 Argo but when I got to the garage to have a look at it it was already sold so as I needed a car there and then because my old car died on me I ended up getting a 2008 Honda jazz which I love it’s so reliable I haven’t had any issues with it the only thing that I ever had to spend money on it was on a new catalytic converter! My grandad wanted to downsize his Honda CR-V but he found my jazz a bit big for just driving to Tesco and back so he has just bought him self the exact same car as you a 2016 yellow excite 3 and I drive it sometimes and it’s lovely to drive but it just lacks a little bit of power as my jazz is a 1.4 😁

    Very interesting for me. As I'm here in March 2021 is giving my old Aygo from 2008 away, and getting a 2018. My old Aygo must be a low level one - as several things are different in my version - like no cover on the clove compartment and same thing with the little pocket over the radio. My new one is also different from yours - mine is with manual transmission, the radio is not DAB - just FM, and has not got navigation - but it has got a backup camera. Thanks for sharing. Hi, are you still driving an Aygo? Or changed to something else? How did you find the newer model?

    • @ADMIRALSCORNER
      @ADMIRALSCORNER  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi James. I had an Aygo for about 7 years and decided I wanted a change. Always fancied a Kia Picanto, not sure if the shape or name appealed, both probably. I like the Picanto in lime green but some features not so good as Aygo - mainly infotainment better quality on Aygo, and not quite as powerful as I would like (compared to the Aygo)

    • @ADMIRALSCORNER
      @ADMIRALSCORNER  ปีที่แล้ว

      From the husband's point of view the Picanto x line has more space around the front passenger and is more economical as the engine stops when held in traffic and starts again as soon as the accelerator is pressed. Also, unlike the Aygo there is a lock on the front passenger's side and two remote keys supplied. The latest model Aygo was not yet available when my wife changed to the Kia.

    I have a 2014 toyota Aygo (1.0 3 cylinder engine) with just over 50,000 miles. Its been diagnosed by toyota as using between 0.8 a 1 litre of oil per 1000 miles (tested twice so far). Toyota says its within their specification and they will not investigate unless its 1ml over 1 litre per 1000 miles... For those that didn't know, this is stated in your toyota handbook and its what you agreed to when you purchased the vehicle from toyota or its within toyota warranty !!!

    • @ADMIRALSCORNER

      We have not noticed any significant oil consumption on either of ours. I wonder if this situation you find yourself in will improve or deteriorate. Perhaps its time to think about a trade in. I once owned a Prius which although a great car did have a strange electrical problem that the dealer couldn't sort but was quite happy to take in as a trade in.

    • @jsouto77
      @jsouto77 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. I also have another two a 2007 and a 2009 (bought them for my children) and even though they have a bit higher mileage and more previous owners, none suffer from this either. This one never did it either until just after 4 years ownership, its been a great car until then!
      I see where you are coming from in regards to trading it in, however I do not think its fair that this problem just gets palmed off to someone else and also we intended on keeping it longer term as a spare hence why I bought possibly every extra available at the tune of £3500 which I had to pay at the time of purchase (total cost was about £12.500) and the car is fully paid.
