I have a 2000 Ford F450 7.3 power stroke V8 and my truck actually started doing the same as yours today why I was on the highway.. I actually ran across this video why I was sitting on the side of the highway.. I was about 30 mins from home.. I did actually what u did and my truck is running regular.. thank u bro💯💪🏾 this is my first time owning a diesel as well.. so imma replace that sensor ASAP
Update - changed out icp sensor with new updated one and new connector, idle did get slightly better but still is choppy if you let off after acceleration I’m thinking it’s probably got to do with tuning
raul salazar I’ll have to pick a new on up soon,it’s likely due for one regardless @ 162k miles, hopefully after I change it out idle smooths out ,Thanks
international engines in there medium duty trucks do this....dt466...and the maxxforce dt's...iv had both as service trucks and they both made that same sound...never had a problem (related to that) with them....even my new truck with a ix-9 cummins makes this sound
I think also when I changed injectors to singles it became more pronounced, but there definitely is a difference when unplugged,I did change the sensor it got slightly better but I just dealt with it, but people would always say it sounds like it has a miss
@@wildingarage2003 wow wild....ya idk then....mabey....im just using my personal experience with engins doing this...i had well over 300k when I got rid of those trucks and the idle time on them was unreal using the pto all day...alot of days I would never shut the truck off and it was never an issue for me....run it tell it blows good thing adout this engine is how common they are...it would not be to difficult to find one and throw it in....goodluck
jacob cassidy no I didn’t have any shaking in the front end at all when I took this video, only thing with my steering is I get a little bump steer when I hit pot holes or bumps just because of the lift but that’s unrelated to the icp/ rough idle issue I was having
That’s from the ATS ported turbo housing and wicked wheel 2, it sounds awesome in person, you may be able to get the whistle from just a wicked wheel 2 but the combo is real loud
Fizzi its the stock turbo with wicked wheel 2,ats ported housing and bd wastegate,I’m now running a non wastegated van turbo with the ats housing and wicked wheel
@@wildingarage2003 yeah man I got lucky when my old one went out went to the just yard and got a brand new pump off a u pull it yard for like $200 they got mad about it since it was new
@@Mtb468 I replaced the icp and it did get better but not 100%, ipr was replaced and fixed the issue, both parts are about $200ea, I would do both at the same time if your having idle issues like mine, i did read on forums if you unplug the icp and the rough idle clears up 100% then to start with replacing that.

Good stuff, glad it worked out for you
Did your truck lack power before you changed the sensor?
Did you gain any power back when you put the new icp sensor in the truck?
What code do you get when you unplug the sensor?
What turbo do you have? Sounds good🔥🔥
Stock turbo with ats ported housing and wicked wheel 2
Did you have a strong fuel smell coming from the exhaust?
i have a 1997 f250 power stroke will start but wont roll over can that be the icp going bad ?

I had the same issue on my 2001 it turned out to be a bad ipr swapped it out with one from riffraff and now no more ruff idle or choppy Misses

@wildingarage did this help? Having a bit of a rough idle only at stops
Make sure low pressure oil pump is good
automatic or manual? if automatic, sounds like overdrive is off and you are engine braking?
It’s automatic

So are you able to drive with it unplugged till fixed
Yeah I drove mine for months unplugged and went one 2000+ mile road trip with no issues, I’ve done research prior and it is definitely safe to do.
What turbo is that?
Stock turbo with a ATS ported housing and Wicked Wheel 2.
Hey brotha anything on what fixed this issue ?
Replacing the icp sensor is what helped mine
When driving did your front end shake like something in the steering was bad?

My 7.3 did the same thing until I replaced the hpop
Blair Williams yeah that could be what’s going bad on mine, I just don’t feel like spending $700 on a new one yet haha

Blair Williams damn that’s a good find and a good price, but with my luck I’d pull one and it’d be worse then mine lol
Was it shifting hard
No it wasn’t shifting hard, just had a strange idle after letting off throttle on acceleration
What would that be?that’s my symptom 😁
Any update? Bad ipr maybe
Same question
I think it is the IPR based off what I’ve read on forums (could also be tuning but I doubt it),I just deal with it for now though
Did you ever have any issues starting it after it sat for awhile?
@@wildingarage2003 What was the solution
