    It's a bird! No, it's a plane! No, it's a BushCat! And it's the ultimate way to fly--slow and low. In terms of performance, versatility, and pulchritude, there is no other plane that compares to the BushCat.
    The good people at SkyReach Aircraft in Johannesburg have produced a new version of the BushCat. It's designed to be a fun, easy, low maintenance plane for people who want to fly in remote places. The aircraft cruises along at 100 mph and enables you float close to the ground, offering the pilot and passengers the ultimate experience of the land they fly above.

    I love ordering frontrunner products from South Africa. They always include personal cards from whoever made the product. It seems like the workers at the factory at Bushcat. Have the same pride in their work. Good looking airplane. I want one.

    Hey Richard, really enjoyed the video! I had my first experience in a BushCat at EAA Oshkosh just a couple of days ago and it's simplicity and flight handling characteristics blew me away. Really looking forward to owning one up here in Southern Oregon, USA, thanks again for this great highlight piece.

    It was originally Cheetah XLS from Aerosport. Comparable planes are Icarus C42/52, SkyRanger.
    Its tubed flexwings have too flat airfoil to reach high lift at higher AOA, to can call it STOL - look at Aeroprakt A22 Foxbat videos.
    At 2:43 is video taken from another plane - probably Cessna.

    I get that you direct towards the specifications in the links but the only people that'd be interedted in this would be interested in the specs, max takeoff weight, usable weight, fuel capacity, range, stall speed, etc... that's what an add like this needs.
    I'm just going to assume a zenith 701or 750 stol would be a better performer

    Excellent product placement. Let's make no mistake, this was filmed with a crew, under controlled circumstances. I for one would never put myself in the middle of the African Bush on a daily basis, in a Rotax powered airplane. That's like playing the Russian roulette before brushing your teeth every morning.

    What about a PA18 Super Cub. Have been on them and landed where there is NO runway in the mountains using tundra tires. These planes can take off in 4 or 5 times there own length and stop in even less. Not having nose gear in a rough field airplane.

      I may have been a bit rough in my statement. It outflies the Skycatcher, and isn't built in china so it's not terrible. It's just not a good competitor as a bush plane

    • @saiyan-lord4714
      @saiyan-lord4714 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      fully agree. Kitfox or zenith easily outperform this bushcat. Bushcat looks lighter maybe? but zero cargo room, its a trike which doesnt seem like a good idea, and lift off is nothing like other bush planes.

    • @musoseven8218
      @musoseven8218 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@saiyan-lord4714 You don't remember the early Kitfoxes then?
      All about perspective and appropriateness - horses for courses?
      The Bushcat looks fully formed (from day one), it's, apparently, subject to continuous improvement, it's evidently got flying characteristics as benign as a C42/52, but easier to repair maintain, it's been, like a C42 subjected to arduous flight trials.
      The early Kitfoxes failed on a lot of those fronts, and had to have continuous improvement forced upon them, from the customers back up the supply chain. In the UK the KF spent a lot of time grounded. A fair few were, iirc abandoned as build projects. The Kitfox - it's derivatives have taken decades to get to where they are now. Eurofox et al are great, but the Bushcat seems to be closing in fast, straight from out of the box. Probably a better trainer too, if it's behaviours are similar to a C42/52?

    Just compare Alaska stol 2017 and you will know and learn what a bush plane can do,
    Most stol planes can take off less then 50 feet and that's in the mountains, and land in similar circumstances, Nose wheels are dangerous landing in rough terrain !
