- All-new mid-size Chinese electric sedan aims directly at Tesla Model 3 👉 Full Review: www.carsales.com.au/editorial...
The Tesla Model 3 has been a smash-hit Down Under, where the latest Chinese-sourced mid-size sedan has quickly become Australia’s favourite EV.
But now it faces what’s likely to be its most serious challenge in the form of the 2023 GWM Ora Sport - an all-new battery-powered sedan from ambitious Chinese car-maker GWM.
Pricing and exact release timing is yet to be announced, but there’s plenty to like about the new Ora Sport, as Feann Torr discovered during this preview drive in Victoria.

Absolutely love the way this car looks Porsche from front n Bently in the back
The hatch is kind of cute, especially in its GT trim. But this looks completely bizarre. Who in their right mind is going to spend $65,000 on this?
Nothing like that price , no prices have been released , but GWM has just announced they are about to start a ice war with mg and chery and ldv and byd
Like the design but prefer a different colour
Hope they are reliable
Pity it's not a hatch. VtL?
No one cares of electric sedans even too expensive when it comes to cheap SUV and 4x4 utes runs on diesel.
I’m not sure the ex Porsche designer who now e we pride for GWM and designed the Ora models would like his design being called ‘peculiar’
Only thing I dislike is the strange idea of only one cup holder
THE Porsche designer? LOL. You do realaise car companies have several design teams working for them, each made up of several people and most are freelance. Who cares where he's worked. If this car is an example of that, Porsche were smart not to match whatever was offered.
@@EnShinNoi the designer of this car is Emanuel Derta. Yes, he is ex-Porsche.
Porsche might have a case to sue over the design.
Lol the ex Porsche designer who designed the Ora range and now works for GWM can’t really be sued for basing this on his own designs
What about Hyundai Ioniq 6?
...cheap Hyundai Ioniq6..............oh wait how did you say it will be in AU?
It would want to be cheap, they didn’t give the design team a very big budget.
What are you taking about, it’s the Porsche designer who designed this range of evs . Based on the Ora mini is now having GWM design their new mini evs based on the Ora platform
This brand is marketed exclusively toward female consumers in China. I wonder if it's a good idea to introduced it to Australia. Do Australian women have that kind of spending power, and will they appreciate such a feminine design after decades of feminist indoctrination that has caused their testosterone levels to approach men's?
