I'm sorry bro I have supported you for a long time but just recently it feels like your heart isn't in it. The Tarisland review was absolutely criminal, you praised an actual trash mobile MMO and took the bag quite clearly. Then your video of TL is old gameplay footage, packed with so much misinformation and almost goes out of its way to ignore all the stuff it excels at, like the solo tower, open world dungeons, optimisation, the combat animations, etc. You didn't even mention the instantaneous loading when teleporting that the old Peon would have been all over. This video was lazy mate, can we have the old Peon back that gave a fuck?

Honestly speaking, as someone who has been playing TL since KR beta days until today, a lot of this is based on outdated information as the game has been making TREMENDOUS changes across the board including with the systems and major changes are coming this month too for things like skills, traits, etc...
None of the changes have saved the game. It is still losing players and the patches have not helped. The recent 3v3 arenas have been a disaster for the game and show just how bad it is.

The actual gameplay is pretty fun and has a pretty immersive world with a decent story. My gf and I both enjoyed exploring a lot. The optimization as well is something EVERYONE should talk about. This game runs very well and has that PS5 Spiderman-like fast travel time.
it runs well cuz its user authoritative not server one or in a more understandable words "like New World" and it had a lot of bots and cheats already and thats in korea where u need an id and a phone number to make an account , when it comes to the west its gonna be a cheat fest lol

Most MMO's such as WoW and FFXIV trust the client to an extent and then authorise this behaviour with the server and TL is no different. If you didn't do this the game would feel absolutely awful to play if you needed the server to authenticate every action.

@@Infernius While you're not wrong, you're not going deep enough into admitting that some games let more things happen client side then others, which allows for more exploits, hacks, cheat, etc. TL allowed more then most, but like any other AAA mmo and big market dev team, they don't care enough about the bots and will be flooded just as much as wow.

Exactly, just what I was thinking. Like, I'm all for honest videos/reviews/thoughts about the game, but this wasn't it. The only thing I hear is ranting and ranting about the game. I can name plenty of positive things compare to other MMORPG's, but I don't see any in this video. I don't even know what the purpose is of this video. The "boring" combat is definitely not what I hear from other streamers/TH-camrs. FFXIV has different combat than BDO, LA, or WoW, and people still enjoy that game. Even with the original review, he was around level 20 in his videos, that's not even scratching the surface of what the game is about. Imagine leveling in World of Warcraft Classic till level 20 and saying: The combat in World of Warcraft sucks and is average as best. - PvP has been heavily changed already, and the developers are changing and improving it week by week. Instead of a lot of guilds competing, there are now a lot of things that are different. Like 1 v 1 guild fights, making sure as a invidivual that you can join battles as well, regardless of the guild you are in. - There is a lot of PvE content, and that's a huge part of the earlier gameplay. - That brings me to the next point, P2W. It is strange that you liked Black Desert so much, but it is just as much as P2W. You buy a skin, sell it on the Marketplace, and buy gear with the money you make. Every game would be better without it, but bringing it up every video, without even the correct facts, is just frustrating. The end-game gear that you can get, you cannot buy or upgrade it with Lucents, you have to do dungeons in order to obtain these items. And the developers are trying to change this even more, so that you cannot just buy your way to max. gear level. Even the content that is going to be released seems to be pretty cool. Housing system, life skilling (fishing, cooking, and more), big update in August for Korea (loads of new dungeons, instances, world bosses, raids, challenge modes of dungeons with 30 difficulties, better progression and gear systems, and many other things). A lot of quality of life updates in between releases, and much much more. The thing that I can agree on are bots, hopefully we will have it better in the West. But the thing that you said about empty servers, is half true as well, I watched many many streamers/TH-camrs, their servers are packed with people. And it's not so strange that almost nobody is streaming the game, most of the people that streamed the game on Twitch were people that used VPNs (people in the West). From what I've heard is that in Korea people are even switching from Black Desert to this game (Korean streamer was telling this, cannot confirm this from other sources since I don't know them). But still, always like your videos, but this is like a kick in the face with incorrect information. I would be totally fine with you reviewing (with honest critique) the game once it has been released in the West.

But upon reaching end-game you will realize that TL has literally nothing to offer other than large scale guild-focused PvP with mandatory discord communication. Combat is mediocre, fun PvE content is very limited, gear variety is non-existent, world-bosses are piñatas, everyone looks and plays the same. I really enjoyed reaching max level in the KR Server during their release, but unfortunately this game is destined to fail. (The game also has pay to win, as spending real money will facilitate character progression, but due to the group-centric nature of the game, this is the least of the game's problems.)

Played KR and CBT, i liked it even though it started off rough but is improving alot each update with the devs listening and changing/fixing things monthly, ofc its not gonna be massive but i do think the game will do just fine, with how the devs have been listening and pumping out changes constantly its only upward from here

I disagree. The combat in Throne and Liberty is pretty good. They have an alternative action mode to the combat as well. The last test improved on some things. It's not the greatest ever, but it was fun enough.

You did zero research or pointing things out that are completely old systems that got reworked already, sooo 90% of the things you said so far are wrong. The first time I saw this game, it immediately felt like Lineage 2 for me, which was one of the first games I ever played, and definitely the first MMORPG which started my MMO journey. I hoped it would be like Lineage, but it might be far from that. I will check the beta and I hope for at least 20% of my expectations to be met.

I love you and your videos but this one is a lil meh, if you look at the comments and watch other recent videos, other than the P2W situation, it's actually starting to be viewed very positively, this is actually the only negative video I've seen on the game in a while lol. As a whole the mass opinion on this game has quickly been turning from negative to positive.~ This video was kinda hard to watch after knowing what I know based on several other videos. ya honestly the only problem is the p2w and I asked some friends who are playing in KR , the p2w is not a problem now like before because they keep nerfing the p2w by making the materials available easier in events , dungeons , boxes things like that , also u can even be competetive if u are f2p but it will take little more effort to be fair but this won't matter unless you are trying to be from top 10 or top 20 , if u are playing as semi hardcore / casual , that won't affect you at all
Used to watch this guy for his content a while ago, considering not now. I just played the open beta on series s the other day and had a lot of fun, baring in mind i have played plenty of mmos across pc an xbox. A lot of the things he pointed out are either completely outdated or not even true. This game has some of the easiest and quickest progression of any of the mmos i have played.... i mean for gods sake if we want to talk about a game being grindy lets take a look at black desert...... hmmm hundreds of hours to grind a set that you ultimately lose if you get a bad roll on the rng upgrading system.... yeah real smooth. The dynamic event cycle made the game feel fresh throughout the day. Day/ night cycle i found was a hilarious mechanic, i was exploring one of the open dungeons, cant remember the name, close to night time....... i didnt realise at the time that the doors close at night and it turns from a pve area into a pvp area..... i very quicky found out when a guy misplaced his greatsword on my skull....😂 Seriously though, the world is beautiful, the gameplay loop os nowhere near as grindy as described, combat definitely could be better but its not by any means bad as the multiclass system offers a lot of variety. Framerate in the beta was smooth 95% of the time with stutters here and there due to day/night cycle or event starts etc. The guild system was very smooth, just need some more description in the settings. Progression in the guild was fast, within 2 days my guild got to level 4 and ended up in the top 40 on that server with only less than 20 players, unlike in other mmos where it can take weeks/ months to rank up 1 level. The map was pretty huge, plenty of diverse regions. Movement felt good, plenty of verticality. Dont have to deal with any of this rubbish like in ESO where you either pay to improve your mount or you literally have to play for months just to level your mount up 1 point wvery what? 6-8 hours? I genuinely dont see what the hate is, its almost as if people are giving their opinions without actually plsying the game and somely basing them of the company who made it. I mean for gods sake, Blizzard made WoW but i dont see people dogpiling that and we all know what blizzard is like 😂

Throne and Liberty will be a big success for global release and this video is spreading total misinformation about the game and its created without even basic knowledge about TL. There is not even one correct sentence in this video, but in short, let me just say this after playing this game more than 1000 hours on servers in Korea. This is NOT a mobile game, its a pure PC MMORPG game also for consoles, nothing to do with mobile game. Bot problem is solved, not completely but bots are removed from the game almost totally. Game is not grindy, actually we need from NCSoft to make it more grindy, players complain that game is not grindy enough. Also, game have fail in Korea because it was NOT made for Korean market, its made for global market so Korean players dont like it. Yes. Basically it sounds like he's using information he obtained during the last beta event, without having played it, or doing any digging into the substantial ways that the game has changed and been updated based on the feedback from those beta events. He's 2-6 months out of date on most topics, and more then a year on others.
It was a super lazy video. He didn't take the time to download and play the Korean client which is miles ahead of even the last CBT build here. Didn't mentioned a lot of upcoming content for the game, like life skills, an entire new continent, arenas (which are now out) It was just him chucking together old footage and recycling other old opinions for easy views but I think he misread the room here. People are actually coming round to TL because the devs are working their arses off making it a great game.
@@Infernius Yep... game is coming out this week on global release and there are a ton of people that are pumped to play a new MMO that feels fresh and at the same time is an old school MMO, meaning you MUST socialize, you MUST join a guild, you MUST fight other guilds etc... actual MMO fans miss this old school logic of MMOs since it hasn't been around for over a decade now... and being a hardcore MMO player while it's not for everyone, a lot of hardcore gamers love it or will love it if this is their first old school MMO... This is not a game like ESO or GW2 where you travel and quest alone and just explore the world solo... this is a game that sets goals for you and you try to hit those goals so that you can be competitive with other players and be able to compete in the big PvP sieges and events for guild supremacy...

Can someone please explain to me genuinely how the combat in this game is bad and underwhelming? I just don't see it. The audio cues with the micro screen shakes when your ability connects with the enemy. How is that alone not portraying the combat to be impactful? When I played closed beta I loved the downward slash ability with the great sword. I felt the weight of the weapon on my character and the visuals of magic looked aesthetically pleasing. I'm not saying this combat is the best. I would argue its pretty good. No?

@@Rated_xv the fact is that Asians make much better combat systems than Western studios... and nobody can portray high fantasy as well as the Asians... this game is gorgeous, the combat system is really good and enjoyable, there are a lot of cool weapon combos you can main and enjoy (I'm planning on a mobile Sword & Shield/Dagger off tank/bruiser on global release this week) and there is a very high skill ceiling to enjoy mastering your class... also even with the same weapons two people can make vastly different classes based on what skills they pick to use and how they specialize them... The game is not perfect but for the barren and dry MMO genre it's fantastic... plus it's a very old school MMO... one that forces you to join a guild and socialize and that really rewards the hardcore players that fight for guild supremacy and take part in the big events
I'm convinced the MMO market has reached peak saturation and the older powerhouse MMOs have a stranglehold on the market and makes all new MMOs destined to fail. Since the new MMOs are setup for failure before launch the companies resort to milking pay to win micros to make money until it's eventually shutdown. I've moved on to From Software and Monster Hunter games for my MMO dopamine fix. Those games are all about progression and getting better and defeating stronger enemies, which was the same loop that drew me into MMOs in the first place.
MMOs need to evolve past that but the question becomes how and when. We can't do the same thing we've been doing for the better part of 20+yrs. It needs to evolve just not sure how.

Peon, be honest please. Have you played the game at all since your 'First impression' video in January? TL is worth giving it another shot. Try the open beta on 18th July, play it to max level, try end game, join a guild, do some node wars and castle sieges/open world bosses, then make another review please. I think you are playing the game in a wrong way, just like you did GW2. But remember how you liked GW2 after you realized that you played it wrong and give it another go and it was amazing? Cause I do. I have a feeling you will change your mind about TL as well.
This guy is infamous in the MMORPG community for being a shitty youtuber that's always rushing a dopamine hit that games like BDO offer. He criticized FF14, A LOT, until people called him out on his bullshit (He used a MSQ skip and then complained about the lack of content and not understanding how the game works), and when he realized he's losing subscribers and that everyone is moving from wow to FF14 he suddenly started loving the game and uploaded a walkthrough series on youtube. He is not an honest man, at all. If you want an honest review this isn't the guy you should follow. His opinions are HIGHLY dependent on whether he gets sponsored or not, and whether or not the game is a clown ADHD fest that bombards you with millions of numbers and rewards at the beginning. He won't properly play this game and seriously review it, like you know, a reviewing channel should, until he gets paid by them.

This game changed tremendously since release and it's so much fun. I'm playing it since release and indeed it has Pay to Progress mechanics but eventually you can get good with no money invested at all. You can pay a lot of money to progress much faster but in my opinion it ruins all the fun. The progression is this game is so much fun and feels so much rewarding whether if it's dungeons, guild raids, world bosses, contracts etc... So much content to do you can not get bored. The PvP is awesome and playing in groups is a must which makes it perfect. Just find out a good guild with good team mates. This video has a lot of outdated information. This game is not perfect and can be frustrating at times against whales but most of the time it's pure fun and no doubt it's the best MMORPG experience I have had in years. My 2 cents: try before crying "P2W, skipping".
Im a Lineage 2 Player since 2004. And I believe, playing this game with a good party / Guild can be really good and enjoyable experience. At least first 3 4 months.

He's probably a L2 server admin afraid of losing part of his server's population (and monetary income) once the game launches. L2 is my most played game of all time and I can tell you that there's a lot of things in TL that will make you remember L2.

Many of the issues that Lazypeon mentions in this video are problems that occurred in early versions of the game. Many were fixed or offset in later versions. I'm not saying it's a perfect game, but it's much better than when it started.
Nah Peon, this video is a massive L. VERY outdated information, information based on others' opinions rather than your own experience (and focusing mostly on the negative ones), and other information just downright wrong. It kinda feels like you're living up to your nickname now. TL's combat feels very decent, there's plenty of content even for solo players (though it is more focused on group-play), and the performance/optimization of the game is excellent. Not only that, the devs have a very solid content roadmap in place, with the newest big content (and systems) update coming being split in 2 updates this summer (which you also failed to mention). Please do better next time mate.
Im always 100% correct no matter who "Smart" gaming communities think they are when i say this game along wtih ALL other games released "AFTER: Archeage are just plain boring. Albion Online, New World, Pal World, Lost Ark, BDO, etc etc etc....ALL failed for one very simple reason. ZERO END GAME CONTENT (I don't mean failed financially, but in terms of average player interest which is 3-4 months) (You, the average player reading this will think) "Hey i know what end game is, its dungeons, 3vs3 arena, some end game boss i can farm 1000x, and events....and you would be 100% wrong. Case and point is EVERY single one of the games communities expresses how dull the game becomes after just a few months and thinks taking on some new skins or class will fix the stale state of their game. EVE online, Star Wars Galaxies, and yes Archeage ALL had splendid END GAME content. Its endless, and while AA and SWG died off for completely unrelated reasons, they are prime examples of what End game really is. (Tell us then) No thanks: Every time i dive into it i get the lowest forms of IQ replying back to me, waste of time. If you actually really care...and i mean "REALLY CARE" you will do your own homework to find out what end game is, otherwise your just lazy and lying saying you care when you can't be bothered to do the research yourself. Either way Thrones and Liberties looks like it has about 2 months of content then your going to be board with nothing to do but the same dungeon over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again...sounds like a snooze fest.
I played this at the Korean launch. Wanted to get a feel for the game and will be playing at launch for global release. Really enjoyed the sound fx, graphics and large open world.

Considering T&L went through at least two major reworks, it's actually surprising that it was in development for ONLY ten years. They basically made two entire games, then scrapped those, and finally made T&L off the bones of those other two.

Saying that a month after the release players felt there was a lack of content while simultaneously showing video of the T2 armors that were added as part of new content is pretty wild. We should also talk about the autocombat from the initial Korean beta instead of the current state of the game, it feels like that might have fit well in this video. I used to like LazyPeon's videos, and the diligence that he used to put into them. It feels as though he just has a team that mashes together background footage and hands him a script with poorly researched and intentionally disingenuous content to make a voiceover. The channel is unfortunately another amazing product of passion that is cashing out the good will and reputation it has built up.
"TL" has been in development for over 10 years but didn't they start over a couple times, initially considering a traditional ARPG (diablo style) camera angle that was not well received?
Hello, Die hard fan subscriber here Peon, I love your reviews and especially your roadmap with IRL MMO and how you changed your life, it inspired me and motivates me to this day. However that being said and yes I've taken into account that you did a review on this game when you played it recently, this Video lacks a lot of originality and update. All of you said is old news that I've already seen on other channels way back, and nothing of substance is being added. A lot of updates came out since then and you did not mention many of them. I feel like you are starting to move away from gaming and losing interest in making quality content or maybe just making gaming quality content as your previous IRL MMO Life videos were amazing. I agree with everything you said here - well done! I loved watching his "bad game reviews" late at night due to my insomnia, as they cheered me up with their dry humour and wit; also from time to time I re-watch his video talking about pursuing your dreams. It's very inspiring. I also got the feeling that he was maybe saturated or glutted with games / game content. I mean, everyone dreams about making their hobby into their job and how awesome that would be while forgetting the downsides: where your hobby slowly morphs into something that is less enjoyable because it's something that _needs to be done_ , a chore.
I completely disagree with you about the combat. It's a cross between WOW and black desert. Some skills are locked and some you have to aim. You have to actively block and retaliate. The game has its issues, however, combat is not one of them. Also, the game is absolutely stunning to look at. Completely open world with zero loading screens!
And I completely disagree with you. Combat is the worst part of the game hands down. They wanted it to be a cross to mobile, that's why it still had autoplay and rooted in place animation on the first beta. They removed that but the mobile combat roots are still there, you can feel it right away. If they could improve combat the game would be much better, but combat in TL really do suck.

does anyone even know the story or lore of this world? i think an MMO is bound to fail without story existing outside of the game and memorable characters. with how long this game was in development and how many changes it had and yet until this vid popped up i had completely forgotten its existence. for me at least tells me how long this will last downloaded and played for me. nothing memorable and only a fleeting fancy for the maybe decent fun large scale battles.
Lore-wise it was the MMORPG that got me most engaged since GW2. And I played nearly every mmorpg there is. Especially side-quests that are voiced and give you background info into the stories of some of the celebrated heroes of Solisium.
The next time you are going to make a video game, play it first, the game has been in Korea for 8 months, if you have not bothered to even look for current information and have preferred to misinform all the people who were curious about the game (btw nice edition)
I respect your opinion, but I have to disagree with your review of the game's combat. I've been playing it for a while, and I find the combat to be fluid and fun. It feels like you might not have delved deep enough into the game to experience its full potential. Another TH-camr, Kanon, showcased the combat properly, and it highlights just how engaging and well-designed it is. I think it's worth giving the game another chance and exploring it further before making a final judgment.

Whether it's polished or not on release - the devs are highly involved with the community and are implementing the majority of requested changes. This approach to updates is nowhere to be seen in other MMO's. Overall I think the doomer view you might have, is going to hurt the game more than necessary. You have a big audience on the MMO topic and influencing peoples opinion about a game both you and they haven't played fully, is not the responsible thing to do imo. Instead, consider making a video about the responsiveness of the devs and the way they listen to the community. That would get more people involved in contributing and would actually have a positive impact on a game we can help shape into something great.
I respect you actually put in the effort into researching it more in this video and aren't just going on the public bandwagon of 'shit korean P2W grinder'. Yes the game has issues, yes there is still some P2W, but did the game improve? 100% yes and the devs are trying their best to mitigate P2W even more and fix the zerging one step a time. I'm just glad you mentioned all the positive changes unlike many other 'big' creators who fuel the negative sentiment the game has from over a year ago without doing any research. It's not going to be a game for everyone thats for sure.

The Tarisland review was absolutely criminal, you praised an actual trash mobile MMO and took the bag quite clearly. Honestly speaking, as someone who has been playing TL since KR beta days until today, a lot of this is based on outdated information as the game has been making TREMENDOUS changes across the board including with the systems and major changes are coming this month too for things like skills, traits, etc...
None of the changes have saved the game. It is still losing players and the patches have not helped.
The recent 3v3 arenas have been a disaster for the game and show just how bad it is.

yeah the fact its on consoles with crossplay day 1 alone is HUGE for an MMO.
The actual gameplay is pretty fun and has a pretty immersive world with a decent story. My gf and I both enjoyed exploring a lot. The optimization as well is something EVERYONE should talk about. This game runs very well and has that PS5 Spiderman-like fast travel time.
it runs well cuz its user authoritative not server one or in a more understandable words "like New World" and it had a lot of bots and cheats already and thats in korea where u need an id and a phone number to make an account , when it comes to the west its gonna be a cheat fest lol

@@Infernius While you're not wrong, you're not going deep enough into admitting that some games let more things happen client side then others, which allows for more exploits, hacks, cheat, etc. TL allowed more then most, but like any other AAA mmo and big market dev team, they don't care enough about the bots and will be flooded just as much as wow.

Exactly, just what I was thinking. Like, I'm all for honest videos/reviews/thoughts about the game, but this wasn't it. The only thing I hear is ranting and ranting about the game. I can name plenty of positive things compare to other MMORPG's, but I don't see any in this video. I don't even know what the purpose is of this video. The "boring" combat is definitely not what I hear from other streamers/TH-camrs. FFXIV has different combat than BDO, LA, or WoW, and people still enjoy that game. Even with the original review, he was around level 20 in his videos, that's not even scratching the surface of what the game is about. Imagine leveling in World of Warcraft Classic till level 20 and saying: The combat in World of Warcraft sucks and is average as best.
- PvP has been heavily changed already, and the developers are changing and improving it week by week. Instead of a lot of guilds competing, there are now a lot of things that are different. Like 1 v 1 guild fights, making sure as a invidivual that you can join battles as well, regardless of the guild you are in.
- There is a lot of PvE content, and that's a huge part of the earlier gameplay.
- That brings me to the next point, P2W. It is strange that you liked Black Desert so much, but it is just as much as P2W. You buy a skin, sell it on the Marketplace, and buy gear with the money you make. Every game would be better without it, but bringing it up every video, without even the correct facts, is just frustrating. The end-game gear that you can get, you cannot buy or upgrade it with Lucents, you have to do dungeons in order to obtain these items. And the developers are trying to change this even more, so that you cannot just buy your way to max. gear level.
Even the content that is going to be released seems to be pretty cool. Housing system, life skilling (fishing, cooking, and more), big update in August for Korea (loads of new dungeons, instances, world bosses, raids, challenge modes of dungeons with 30 difficulties, better progression and gear systems, and many other things). A lot of quality of life updates in between releases, and much much more.
The thing that I can agree on are bots, hopefully we will have it better in the West. But the thing that you said about empty servers, is half true as well, I watched many many streamers/TH-camrs, their servers are packed with people. And it's not so strange that almost nobody is streaming the game, most of the people that streamed the game on Twitch were people that used VPNs (people in the West). From what I've heard is that in Korea people are even switching from Black Desert to this game (Korean streamer was telling this, cannot confirm this from other sources since I don't know them).
But still, always like your videos, but this is like a kick in the face with incorrect information. I would be totally fine with you reviewing (with honest critique) the game once it has been released in the West.

The journey to max level is actually not too bad, mainly due to the beautiful open-world and gorgeous graphics.
But upon reaching end-game you will realize that TL has literally nothing to offer other than large scale guild-focused PvP with mandatory discord communication.
Combat is mediocre, fun PvE content is very limited, gear variety is non-existent, world-bosses are piñatas, everyone looks and plays the same.
I really enjoyed reaching max level in the KR Server during their release, but unfortunately this game is destined to fail.
(The game also has pay to win, as spending real money will facilitate character progression, but due to the group-centric nature of the game, this is the least of the game's problems.)

I disagree. The combat in Throne and Liberty is pretty good. They have an alternative action mode to the combat as well. The last test improved on some things. It's not the greatest ever, but it was fun enough.

The first time I saw this game, it immediately felt like Lineage 2 for me, which was one of the first games I ever played, and definitely the first MMORPG which started my MMO journey. I hoped it would be like Lineage, but it might be far from that. I will check the beta and I hope for at least 20% of my expectations to be met.

ya honestly the only problem is the p2w and I asked some friends who are playing in KR , the p2w is not a problem now like before because they keep nerfing the p2w by making the materials available easier in events , dungeons , boxes things like that , also u can even be competetive if u are f2p but it will take little more effort to be fair but this won't matter unless you are trying to be from top 10 or top 20 , if u are playing as semi hardcore / casual , that won't affect you at all

Used to watch this guy for his content a while ago, considering not now.
I just played the open beta on series s the other day and had a lot of fun, baring in mind i have played plenty of mmos across pc an xbox.
A lot of the things he pointed out are either completely outdated or not even true.
This game has some of the easiest and quickest progression of any of the mmos i have played.... i mean for gods sake if we want to talk about a game being grindy lets take a look at black desert...... hmmm hundreds of hours to grind a set that you ultimately lose if you get a bad roll on the rng upgrading system.... yeah real smooth.
The dynamic event cycle made the game feel fresh throughout the day.
Day/ night cycle i found was a hilarious mechanic, i was exploring one of the open dungeons, cant remember the name, close to night time....... i didnt realise at the time that the doors close at night and it turns from a pve area into a pvp area..... i very quicky found out when a guy misplaced his greatsword on my skull....😂
Seriously though, the world is beautiful, the gameplay loop os nowhere near as grindy as described, combat definitely could be better but its not by any means bad as the multiclass system offers a lot of variety.
Framerate in the beta was smooth 95% of the time with stutters here and there due to day/night cycle or event starts etc.
The guild system was very smooth, just need some more description in the settings.
Progression in the guild was fast, within 2 days my guild got to level 4 and ended up in the top 40 on that server with only less than 20 players, unlike in other mmos where it can take weeks/ months to rank up 1 level.
The map was pretty huge, plenty of diverse regions.
Movement felt good, plenty of verticality.
Dont have to deal with any of this rubbish like in ESO where you either pay to improve your mount or you literally have to play for months just to level your mount up 1 point wvery what? 6-8 hours?
I genuinely dont see what the hate is, its almost as if people are giving their opinions without actually plsying the game and somely basing them of the company who made it.
I mean for gods sake, Blizzard made WoW but i dont see people dogpiling that and we all know what blizzard is like 😂

Everytime a new MMORPG comes out and the talk about combat systems starts, I always shed a tear in memory of Tera :
Throne and Liberty will be a big success for global release and this video is spreading total misinformation about the game and its created without even basic knowledge about TL. There is not even one correct sentence in this video, but in short, let me just say this after playing this game more than 1000 hours on servers in Korea. This is NOT a mobile game, its a pure PC MMORPG game also for consoles, nothing to do with mobile game. Bot problem is solved, not completely but bots are removed from the game almost totally. Game is not grindy, actually we need from NCSoft to make it more grindy, players complain that game is not grindy enough. Also, game have fail in Korea because it was NOT made for Korean market, its made for global market so Korean players dont like it. Its not P2W enough and grindy enough for Koreans, but we global players like it. And I could continue like this for along time but in short, very bad review of the game, done without any knowledge about that game or playing it. Yes. Basically it sounds like he's using information he obtained during the last beta event, without having played it, or doing any digging into the substantial ways that the game has changed and been updated based on the feedback from those beta events. He's 2-6 months out of date on most topics, and more then a year on others.
It was a super lazy video. He didn't take the time to download and play the Korean client which is miles ahead of even the last CBT build here.
Didn't mentioned a lot of upcoming content for the game, like life skills, an entire new continent, arenas (which are now out)

Can someone please explain to me genuinely how the combat in this game is bad and underwhelming? I just don't see it. The audio cues with the micro screen shakes when your ability connects with the enemy. How is that alone not portraying the combat to be impactful? When I played closed beta I loved the downward slash ability with the great sword. I felt the weight of the weapon on my character and the visuals of magic looked aesthetically pleasing. I'm not saying this combat is the best. I would argue its pretty good. No?

@@Rated_xv the fact is that Asians make much better combat systems than Western studios... and nobody can portray high fantasy as well as the Asians... this game is gorgeous, the combat system is really good and enjoyable, there are a lot of cool weapon combos you can main and enjoy (I'm planning on a mobile Sword & Shield/Dagger off tank/bruiser on global release this week) and there is a very high skill ceiling to enjoy mastering your class... also even with the same weapons two people can make vastly different classes based on what skills they pick to use and how they specialize them...
The game is not perfect but for the barren and dry MMO genre it's fantastic... plus it's a very old school MMO... one that forces you to join a guild and socialize and that really rewards the hardcore players that fight for guild supremacy and take part in the big events
I'm convinced the MMO market has reached peak saturation and the older powerhouse MMOs have a stranglehold on the market and makes all new MMOs destined to fail. Since the new MMOs are setup for failure before launch the companies resort to milking pay to win micros to make money until it's eventually shutdown. I've moved on to From Software and Monster Hunter games for my MMO dopamine fix. Those games are all about progression and getting better and defeating stronger enemies, which was the same loop that drew me into MMOs in the first place.
MMOs need to evolve past that but the question becomes how and when. We can't do the same thing we've been doing for the better part of 20+yrs.
It needs to evolve just not sure how.

This game changed tremendously since release and it's so much fun.
I'm playing it since release and indeed it has Pay to Progress mechanics but eventually you can get good with no money invested at all.
You can pay a lot of money to progress much faster but in my opinion it ruins all the fun.
The progression is this game is so much fun and feels so much rewarding whether if it's dungeons, guild raids, world bosses, contracts etc...
So much content to do you can not get bored.
The PvP is awesome and playing in groups is a must which makes it perfect. Just find out a good guild with good team mates.

This game is not perfect and can be frustrating at times against whales but most of the time it's pure fun and no doubt it's the best MMORPG experience I have had in years.

Im a Lineage 2 Player since 2004. And I believe, playing this game with a good party / Guild can be really good and enjoyable experience. At least first 3 4 months.
Na, this game doesn't really have parties like lineage. There are no real classes, no supports and almost no heals. You may as well play with bots.

With an organized party/group you'll have a good time. Paintspot1509 is just a pure TL hater. I'm not making it up, just go look the rest of the comments in this video, he's hating on 90% of them. He's probably a L2 server admin afraid of losing part of his server's population (and monetary income) once the game launches.
L2 is my most played game of all time and I can tell you that there's a lot of things in TL that will make you remember L2.

TL will be very good for L2 private servers tbh, lots of people will go back to it because it is a better game.

L2 is my most played videogame of all time, and if you can't feel the similarities in a lot of aspects between TL and L2 (not necessarily gameplay mechanics) then that's your issue. Many of the issues that Lazypeon mentions in this video are problems that occurred in early versions of the game. Many were fixed or offset in later versions. I'm not saying it's a perfect game, but it's much better than when it started.

VERY outdated information, information based on others' opinions rather than your own experience (and focusing mostly on the negative ones), and other information just downright wrong.
It kinda feels like you're living up to your nickname now.
TL's combat feels very decent, there's plenty of content even for solo players (though it is more focused on group-play), and the performance/optimization of the game is excellent.
Not only that, the devs have a very solid content roadmap in place, with the newest big content (and systems) update coming being split in 2 updates this summer (which you also failed to mention).
Please do better next time mate.

Im always 100% correct no matter who "Smart" gaming communities think they are when i say this game along wtih ALL other games released "AFTER: Archeage are just plain boring.
Albion Online, New World, Pal World, Lost Ark, BDO, etc etc etc....ALL failed for one very simple reason. ZERO END GAME CONTENT (I don't mean failed financially, but in terms of average player interest which is 3-4 months)
(You, the average player reading this will think) "Hey i know what end game is, its dungeons, 3vs3 arena, some end game boss i can farm 1000x, and events....and you would be 100% wrong. Case and point is EVERY single one of the games communities expresses how dull the game becomes after just a few months and thinks taking on some new skins or class will fix the stale state of their game.
EVE online, Star Wars Galaxies, and yes Archeage ALL had splendid END GAME content. Its endless, and while AA and SWG died off for completely unrelated reasons, they are prime examples of what End game really is.
(Tell us then) No thanks: Every time i dive into it i get the lowest forms of IQ replying back to me, waste of time. If you actually really care...and i mean "REALLY CARE" you will do your own homework to find out what end game is, otherwise your just lazy and lying saying you care when you can't be bothered to do the research yourself.
Either way Thrones and Liberties looks like it has about 2 months of content then your going to be board with nothing to do but the same dungeon over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again...sounds like a snooze fest.

i used to love your content prior to Tarisland
I played this at the Korean launch. Wanted to get a feel for the game and will be playing at launch for global release. Really enjoyed the sound fx, graphics and large open world.
this will be the first time that i try out a mmo on ps5. my pc is too old now, so i gotta make use of my console. now that the ps5 has a proper discord add-on its even possible to atleast speak with my mates on pc.

Considering T&L went through at least two major reworks, it's actually surprising that it was in development for ONLY ten years. They basically made two entire games, then scrapped those, and finally made T&L off the bones of those other two.
I thought the revised version of the combat system is very smooth. Informations in this video are obsolete. I am disappointed.

Saying that a month after the release players felt there was a lack of content while simultaneously showing video of the T2 armors that were added as part of new content is pretty wild. We should also talk about the autocombat from the initial Korean beta instead of the current state of the game, it feels like that might have fit well in this video.
I used to like LazyPeon's videos, and the diligence that he used to put into them. It feels as though he just has a team that mashes together background footage and hands him a script with poorly researched and intentionally disingenuous content to make a voiceover. The channel is unfortunately another amazing product of passion that is cashing out the good will and reputation it has built up.
The bot problem was adressed on korean with the AI guard. Maybe will be diferent...
"TL" has been in development for over 10 years but didn't they start over a couple times, initially considering a traditional ARPG (diablo style) camera angle that was not well received?

Die hard fan subscriber here Peon, I love your reviews and especially your roadmap with IRL MMO and how you changed your life, it inspired me and motivates me to this day. However that being said and yes I've taken into account that you did a review on this game when you played it recently, this Video lacks a lot of originality and update. All of you said is old news that I've already seen on other channels way back, and nothing of substance is being added. A lot of updates came out since then and you did not mention many of them. I feel like you are starting to move away from gaming and losing interest in making quality content or maybe just making gaming quality content as your previous IRL MMO Life videos were amazing.
Hope you take some of this feedback as positive constructive criticism, keep up the good work !
I agree with everything you said here - well done! I loved watching his "bad game reviews" late at night due to my insomnia, as they cheered me up with their dry humour and wit; also from time to time I re-watch his video talking about pursuing your dreams. It's very inspiring.
I also got the feeling that he was maybe saturated or glutted with games / game content. I mean, everyone dreams about making their hobby into their job and how awesome that would be while forgetting the downsides: where your hobby slowly morphs into something that is less enjoyable because it's something that _needs to be done_ , a chore.

I completely disagree with you about the combat. It's a cross between WOW and black desert. Some skills are locked and some you have to aim. You have to actively block and retaliate. The game has its issues, however, combat is not one of them.
Also, the game is absolutely stunning to look at. Completely open world with zero loading screens!

They wanted it to be a cross to mobile, that's why it still had autoplay and rooted in place animation on the first beta.
They removed that but the mobile combat roots are still there, you can feel it right away. If they could improve combat the game would be much better, but combat in TL really do suck.
@vbm4780 and I completely disagree with you. The combat is a mix of WOW and ESO. If you prefer the action style combat ala Black Desert, then I'll understand this game isn't for you. But your opinion, like mine, are our subjective opinions, and we don't speak for everyone...

does anyone even know the story or lore of this world? i think an MMO is bound to fail without story existing outside of the game and memorable characters. with how long this game was in development and how many changes it had and yet until this vid popped up i had completely forgotten its existence. for me at least tells me how long this will last downloaded and played for me. nothing memorable and only a fleeting fancy for the maybe decent fun large scale battles.
Lore-wise it was the MMORPG that got me most engaged since GW2. And I played nearly every mmorpg there is.
Especially side-quests that are voiced and give you background info into the stories of some of the celebrated heroes of Solisium.
The next time you are going to make a video game, play it first, the game has been in Korea for 8 months, if you have not bothered to even look for current information and have preferred to misinform all the people who were curious about the game (btw nice edition)
I respect your opinion, but I have to disagree with your review of the game's combat. I've been playing it for a while, and I find the combat to be fluid and fun. It feels like you might not have delved deep enough into the game to experience its full potential. Another TH-camr, Kanon, showcased the combat properly, and it highlights just how engaging and well-designed it is. I think it's worth giving the game another chance and exploring it further before making a final judgment.

Whether it's polished or not on release - the devs are highly involved with the community and are implementing the majority of requested changes. This approach to updates is nowhere to be seen in other MMO's.
Overall I think the doomer view you might have, is going to hurt the game more than necessary. You have a big audience on the MMO topic and influencing peoples opinion about a game both you and they haven't played fully, is not the responsible thing to do imo.
Instead, consider making a video about the responsiveness of the devs and the way they listen to the community. That would get more people involved in contributing and would actually have a positive impact on a game we can help shape into something great.
I respect you actually put in the effort into researching it more in this video and aren't just going on the public bandwagon of 'shit korean P2W grinder'. Yes the game has issues, yes there is still some P2W, but did the game improve? 100% yes and the devs are trying their best to mitigate P2W even more and fix the zerging one step a time.
I'm just glad you mentioned all the positive changes unlike many other 'big' creators who fuel the negative sentiment the game has from over a year ago without doing any research.
