I love my Loupedeck CT. I'm newer to using Final Cut and would go several weeks between doing edits. I would always forget the shortcuts and would spend a lot of time searching trying to remember what they were. Once I got my CT, it sped my workflow up immensely. It's made it a lot more fun to edit as well. Great review!
Great content as always. As a very longtime user of FCP on iMacs and now the Mac Mini M1, this tool looks very interesting. I'm an almost 70 year old guy in this video profession for 36 years...I've found my own workflow effective while simply using a mouse, keyboard shortcuts and keeping notes in a dedicated notebook. However, if I had one of these, I'd figure out how to add it into my workflow. Anyway, your description is so thoughtful and easily understandable. I enjoyed it a lot!
Wow... The Loupedeck CT looks incredibly powerful while being scalable to operator comfort level and experience.... hoping to be picked!! If not, it will be in my future someday for sure. Thanks for the tour - it was very helpful!!
Great review, as ever, Stewart. Will certainly explore the various Loupedeck products further both for improving FCPX & Lightroom workflows....thanks for sharing.
Love my CT but have one issue I can't figure out - when I set up a custom text action to insert my address, it always comes out on one line. How do I create a line break in the text field? I tried adding but the field doesn't recognize code.
Yeah Stewart! Thank you very much for this video. I got one last year as a birthday gift and never found the time to set it up after replacing my Mac. I'm soooo looking for a way to improve my workflow for photos on the Mac .. not to mention FCP and this video defiantly gives me motivation and incentive to get up and running! Good job 👍
Great video! I have edited video off and on for 10 years, but am now in a position where I will be doing it much more often. This could potentially save me so much time!!!
This looks a terrific tool to speed up my work flow, predominantly I use Lightroom for images and need to get into video as an avid drone user but the old computer I had held me back. New high powered desktop PC has made a huge difference and this would be perfect for my hobby.
That looks an excellent bit of kit and certainly something which would benefit me as I strive to create higher quality videos for my TH-cam channel. I can recall some years ago when I purchased the Wacom Intuos Pro and that became a game changer in respect of my photo editing. 👍
What I have been missing (to date most of my life has been spent in the 20th century) is the analog feel of practically every tool available. This looks like it is as retro as it is forward thinking. I've gotta dig that!
A very good overview of this very complicated and expensive product. I have been toying with the idea of a Loupedeck controller for some time, but have resisted the urge to spend more money. I am pretty sure it will streamline many processes, but it's very hard to justify the cost (even of the basic one) when there's been so little objective material posted about them. Thanks for the video. It was very useful and very well balanced.
It is always great watching your tutorials. Similar to @ErikRichardson, I often go weeks in between using Final Cut so I had to write out all the shortcuts in a document to remind me. This Loupdeck CT would help take my editing to the next level.
Hi Stewart. I had the original Loupedeck (when it first came out) and gave up on it, replacing it with a Behringer mimi Mal and Pfixer software. However now I am using FCP as well as LRC, it might be time to check out the LD -CT after your valued assessment
Thanks for the competition, helps video editors on a budget! So.... will you be reviewing the Insta360 One R 2? (which is what I think they are releasing tomorrow based on the tagline and thumbnail image in their promotional video)
A few years ago I used an iPad based editing tool called Keymand which offered programmable buttons, which helped me automate some Final Cut Pro functions. It was affordable and handy, but sadly it was discontinued, and the legacy version will not work with newer MacOS releases. This looks promising, but I am concerned about possible obsolescence. Clearly, nobody can predict if a company will succeed or fail, but I do not want to be stuck with an expensive tool that stops working when OS upgrades happen!
wow! That sucks. That would have been great. I saw on a review for this that you can program it to work with other programs not listed to. Like, you put in the keyboard short cuts and asign them to the device buttons.
Awesome video Stewart...and cool bit of kit there as well. I've been playing around with different free video editing software but the compromise is that there's not a lot of functionality it them....so I've been thinking of getting into final cut pro....just a bit intimidating due to all the thing the software can do. Throw this into the mix and boy oh boy do I have my work cut out for me....pun intended lol
Great video as usual - that's why I am a happy subscriber. :) Q1: Do you think that the LoupeDeck CT is worth the extra $$ over the LoupeDeck Live? Q2: I was given a Live a couple of days ago and I am climbing the old Learning Curve. I am struggling to find how to edit the FCP pages on the LoupeDeck, as they only come up when I load FCP and do not show in the LD software. Q3: Can you recommend a good website for community support and profiles sharing for LD? Thanks in advance, Paul
Looking forward to being able to try this out if I win it because there’s not a cat in hells chance of me being able to try it out if I have to go and get one myself because I just couldn’t afford it

This is awesome Stewart, especially for someone who is a pro photographer who heavily uses LR and Photoshop daily and just getting into video editing.

I wonder if this control UA Luna?
Just ordered mine. Thanks.
Lovely piece of kit..looks amazing. 🤩
It is definitely a cool device to have. I wish I had it right from the start of when I attended you master class 2.0 course.
I'm late to the game on this, but thanks for such a clear and concise video. As an aside, what minitripod are you using for your mic?
Can I use in luminar neo ??

Can it connect to a PC via Bluetooth and be powered by a USB adapter?

Just noting that it will also work with Magix Vegas Pro.
Looks a cool piece of hardware. Don’t think it’s too expensive for what it does..
