Just came out with a couple new ones on Death Stranding and Resident Evil 2 after a very long hiatus. I'm back! And thank you for all those shout outs once upon a time :) They gave me so much motivation.
Just found your channel man. You're gonna grow a lot. I'm feeling it already. The quality of your content deserves it. It may be a slow growth, but it will happen.
Great job showcasing this game's amazing background work. Is that sort of background-character relationship limited to the dystopian genre? Are there not other examples which might apply?
Off the top of my head, pretty much any Jacques Tati movie has that dynamic, even outside the dystopian genre. Stanley Kubrick is pretty famous for his use of background and wide angle lens to reflect the crumbling psychological breakdown of characters (the shining), to suggest how certain men carry themselves on the battlefield (the famous tracking shots from Paths of glory), or to build a surreal interpretation of New York City that doesn't seem totally real (Eyes Wide Shut). David Cronenberg has done some interesting stuff with background in his film Naked Lunch, where reality, time and space subtly morph as the main character trips on various hallucinogenic drugs. There are so many great examples. Also, Alfonso Cuaron's Y Tu Mama Tambien. That whole film is about realities in the background slowly encroaching into the character's lives. Anywho, hope this slightly incoherent listing helped!
2 worlds i'll describe the game with: fucking masterpeice
A half of what makes this game so special is sound.

This is the kind of comment that keeps me going. Thank you.
That was a really great video.
It's literally not just a video game!!!
Its 2.5d game not a 2d game
Top 5 Agreed. The background changes and the head changes direction, but the background only move around.
2D and 2.5D play very similarly so 2D is often shorthand for the other
great vid
