    Thank you for your repair videos. I have a Mamiya RB67 so they have been very helpful.
    I know you focus on retouching and not necessarily repainting, but if anyone is interested in repainting I'd recommend "One Shot" enamels. They are enamel paints you can get in art supply and some craft supply stores. They come in many colors. Since they are enamels they will dry tough and water/smudge proof. Also, a fairly cheap rigger (lettering brush, which is what would have been used with these enamels to do sign painting) is very precise and will get into right areas, making additional clean-up for over painting less necessary. Thanks again!

    I think a better solution is an extra fine point paint pen - $4 and it holds a bit better than the wax. I would use one to touch up body scuffs but I think it would need a clear coat for that.

    Great ideas! Thanks I can now make my camera and lens lettering like new.
    I need a quick help- I have a KR10 super and it has a really scratched focusing screen (the thing with diagonal focus thingy)! Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this? If it needs replacing do I need to take the top of the camera off? Many thanks

    Any chance of doing an RB67 ProS back rebuild? I have two that could use one with various issues. One has a crooked (but working) shutter cocking lever, the other no longer stops at the frames and just winds up the whole roll. Would be really nice if I could rebuild these and save them from the parts bin.

      RB67 ProS back is a good addition to the long list of request. Thank you for your comment and for your interest in Fix Old Cameras.

    Hey Fix Old Camera!
    I love your videos and I have a question: do you know where I can find the Hozan p790 pliers you use in your videos? I can't find anywhere! Or if you have an alternative for really small ring clips, please let me know! Thanks!

      You have a keen eye to pick up the make and model of a tool. Most of the tools featured in FOC videos have been in service for decades. It is possible that the tool in question is not presently available. Hozan does have a contact email posted on their website. Perhaps if you contact them direct they might be able to recommend how you might proceed. Thank you for comments and interest in Fix Old Cameras.

      Thank you, I really love details! I'll try to contact them, but I think they'll be pricey as this is an hobby for me! I also have a suggestion for a video: there is a well known problem on Pentax LXs known as "sticky mirror", where the mirror delays to rise. This is a big issue because Pentax cameras are prone to present it. The reasons are two: the two rubber pads under the mirror and also a rubber lever just above it (which most of the time goes unnoticed). Some guys put talc on it, but it's not a good solution. There are also no videos which explain how to do it and would be amazing seeing it on your channel! If you need pictures let me know, and sorry for the big post!

      Thank you for the suggestion for a video featuring the Pentax LX sticky mirror issue. Keep'em going.

    Hi , how are you? Do you know of any technique to remove silver paint from this type of cameras?

    • @FixOldCameras
      @FixOldCameras  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it a metal top cover it can be sand blasted with fine sand or sanded with conventional sand paper down to the brass. If it is plastic top cover it is covered in a thin layer of foil type coating and is not actually paint. The KR10 top cover featured in this video is plastic.

      Wouldn’t nail polish remover work too for example on a silver Leica m2 ?

    Any alternatives to crayons that won't melt in the heat? It's tough luck for Floridians.

    • @FixOldCameras
      @FixOldCameras  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Beryl China markers mention by Tom (see recent comment) might resist the Florida heat better. If you want to try paint, a small bottle of Testers black enamel plastic model paint... used with care and a couple of light applications works perfect.

    Point and Shoot camera Fix

    • @FixOldCameras
      @FixOldCameras  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably will not feature "point and shoot" cameras of the auto wind/rewind, auto focus design. But maybe will feature cameras such as the Minox EL 35 or Rollei 35. Thank you for your interest in FOC.

  • @sonygoup

    Lol I was legit gonna use black nail polish to touch my rollei 35 where the black paint camera off

    • @FixOldCameras
      @FixOldCameras  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right on! Just keep any nail polish remover away from plastic parts.
