Awesome video brother. That job looked like a pain. Thanks for sharing. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible weekend. Much love and RESPECT
Wow! Never seen a spring break like that on that new of a car! I've had a few torsion bars break on old mopars I've had but they were older and common on that type of spring, That's kinda odd to happen to a coil spring, Probably a flaw in the metal of the spring. Great fix! Thanks for sharing!👍
Yea definitely odd to see on that new of a spring. The coating on the spring and everything was still in great condition. I agree with you it probably was a flaw in the spring. Sadly, I've seen this happen to a few of these vehicles online!
My friend's brother is an Audi technician, and he said these cars are designed to fail in multiple areas. Springs is one of those areas. I've never had a broken spring on all the other cars I've owned.
It was a massive pain. I believe I ended up doing that bolt first and manipulating the assembly sideways to get it aligned and then installed the rest. That is the one that gave me the most trouble. I think I also really pushed hard against the reservoir/harness to straighten the bolt as much as possible.
Yea... I have a low profile jack. I believe you should be able to get it under there on a stock height car. Sometimes I end up putting a jackstand under the chassis where the front control arm meets it.
Done this job using this video. Was a great help avoiding the pinch bolt. Now to do the other side
Glad it helped!
thanks! Was looking autodoc video first and did not take leap to work on it. Today used Your tips and it took 1 hour, no unnessesary work. Thanks!
Nice! Glad to hear it! That’s a super fast time to get all this done!
Thanks a lot for the tip!
I was trying to avoid that stubborn bolt and now I know it's possible!
Glad to help! Yea it is possible. Wasn't the easiest job. Either way!

Interesting. I've never had a spring fail on another car either in this way. What else on these cars is designed to fail?
@@SmackeysGarage It's a very long list. Troublesome and very expensive to fix automatic gearboxes.
Great video.
Thanks!
I can’t get the drivers side top bolt in, the one under the wiring harness/windshield washer reservoir
Impossible to get it threaded straight

How do you jack the car up and put jack stands.. I have a b9 a4 and curious
If it is the same as the B8.5s I use a pinch weld puck and jack at the opening of the pinch weld.
@@SmackeysGarageah okay yeah for the pinch weld sections but wasn’t sure if the jack and jack stand would fit all under 😅

any body from ohio wanna do this for me lol
Ha. Being in a state with lots of road salt... I feel for you
too much for me
Yea. I completely understand. Was a good amount of work.
