Goalkeeper Drills: Improve Reactions, Reflexes and 1v1s

- Time to work on those reflexes, reactions and 1v1/loose ball technique! I always love reaction session for goalkeepers the drills are always fun and difficult plus you end up making some amazing saves.
We also look at attacking the ball in a 1v1 or loose ball situation where the keeper must step in and attack the ball on the strikers foot and hesitation will lead to a goal so remember attack hands first and push the ball into their foot don't try to snatch at it.

Thanks so much Alberto I have my grand final today and I'm a goalkeeper. This helped me and showed me I have to be aware of the 1v1 with the fast attackers.

hey alberto , im always watching your videos and i like it. a huge potentiel you have bro as a coach. an advice that i think i should give it to you as a gk coach is when u want to work a drill of shooting or direct volleys . try to put the cones behind the goalies . becuse they can get hurt while an explosive dive. anyway its so great to see a young coach who work like this as an expert coach. cheers from another gk coach in morocco

Yassine Eladraoui he doesn't need to put the cones behind te goalkeeper because they need to learn to attack the ball you need to keep aggressive
its my bad i think that im missing words to say what i want to say . the exercice when it comes to his end the cone should be in the back of the keeper not in front because if he jumps to a ball and get down on a cone he can get hurt and i lived this experience with a gk this presesion. and i dont wish to see an other coach making the same mistake that i did. thanks endeed

hey Alberto, do you consider of some high ball drills. My idea is the ball is falling from really high ( not like crosses ). That kind of ball is really hard to timing and positioning

Hey Alberto, I have had a problem of holding on to crosses and I always punch it. Can you please make a video about holding crosses
This cold be a number of things - taking your eye off the ball, hand position or not letting the ball come into your hands rather than snatching at it, It's a technique often referred to as ' soft hands' . Have somebody practice crosses from both sides of your area until you feel more comfortable and once you do, start to try and reach to catch the ball at the highest point you can.

right now it's pretty rainy in germany and therefore the grass ist wet. I have the problem that the grass Is sticking onto my gloves after every dive and/or when catching the ball. What can I do about it? It's pretty annoying to rub off the grass from the glove all the time

Alberto here’s the thing,
I have just joined a football team as one of their goalkeepers and I was going to play a relatively easy match this weekend, but it got cancelled and they are playing against a team that has been thrashing everyone at the moment so they want all the good people on the field and said that I’m the next best goalkeeper and that I should play so I don’t know if I should say yes or if I am absolutely going the fail and let goals in. 😩😩😬😬
Scarlett Lovelock I would say yes, I’m obviously not the person you would want this response from, but experience is good. You may surprise yourself. And if you don’t do so hot, and can look back and reflect on what you could’ve done better and what you didn’t do, something my coach indents in me. Hope this helps!

I dived towards the ball and the striker kicked my chest really hard. The ref said he was going for the ball even tho the ball was infront of my head.
mahmoud m It doesn't matter if he was going for the ball, he still hit you no matter what, he is at fault, when ever you attack the ball make sure to grab that ball with one hand when diving and using the upper arm from which side you dived on to kind of follow his feet to protect your chest, face, things like that, i do that and it works for me, i have also got hit
Thats a good strategy but i put both my hands on the ball in front of my face.
mahmoud m the thing you can do also is what i do i go whit my both hands to the ball and the moment i got the ball i will pull my legs to my chest en protect myself whit my shin geards (i am sorry for the bad english)
