I’m petite but have proportionately long legs. So, my best visual-lengthening trick is to show that area between my waist and leg break by wearing short, or tucked-in tops, sweaters, etc. I always felt so stumpy-legged in those horrible long tunics that were in style for so long, the best thing I ever did for my style was get rid of them. I have a tiny frame, especially hands, feet and head. It’s annoying, nothing ever fits my hands, I can’t hold most tools or water glasses, etc. and can’t get packages open. It’s most apparent when I’m with other, bigger people, I just look smaller than everyone else.
Everything is huge in the shoulders, necklines and hips for us with petite frames. I have a natural 36D bust, and a straightist waist, so I can’t just size down a couple of sizes. I love V-necks, but they’re always, way, way too low-cut for me. I often put darts in the back neckline/shoulder areas of tops to bring the V up and narrow the necklines of tops, it helps.
@KimberlyPerrotis That sound like a great idea. In cooler weather you can wear a lighter colour (if you have a lighter skin tone) in a scoop neck camisole underneath to create a little more modesty I find that works well too.

Great to have clarity, thank you 😊
@lizvardon5357 You are welcome. Do you struggle with petite clothes?
Thank you, I appreciate your advice.
@christinemadrazo6755 You are welcome. Do you struggle with petite clothes?
Thanks, Michelle. I always take some tips from your videos. Not a petite (I'm 5'7") but love your advice. Keep on keepin' on!
@dorismatthews4416 Thank you for another lovely comment and feedback.

@KimberlyPerrotis This must be very difficult. It is bad enough that most things are made with men's hands in mind!
Thank you ! Pity I hadn’t seen this video before I bought two lovely but rather expensive “oversized” sweaters …. I do hope they fit my daughter 😅
@carollorac8034 Oh bless you. If you like them, I would say wear them. See how you feel.
Very good advice.
@joanne6408 Thank you I am glad you found it helpful. Do you struggle with petite clothes?

Great advice! I have found that Anne Taylor Loft and Ralph Lauren have a good selection of Petie clothing. This is helpful when purchasing a dress.
@KARINCHASE-m2y Yes they do! I have noticed that too.
Can you please tell me if any of those petite clothing stores you recommend are Canadian, or ship to Canada?

@joannagooney8342 You are very welcome. Funnily enough a friend of mine knows Ruth very well. Are you considered petite? How tall are you?
@@capsuleclosetstylist I am 5’3” same as you petite just comes up too small and short in the arms
Love Ruth’s clothes she seems a lovely person
Yes same here. I think it is because we are on the cusp of petite.
No oversized for me🙂
Yes it is awful on most people.
