Really like watch you port...I have been working with power tools for over 40 years... building custom signs and custom made tools for building custom stuff. There is such satisfaction in doing it wright...Your awesome..
Great video Tinman. Wow thank you for the shoutout Holy smokes. I look forward to seeing how the exhaust change works. That's awesome. You rock brother. Love it🌲❤🌲✊🪓
I do not have the head in front of me but both the intake and exhaust ports looked off center, or angled, and the transfers looked diagonal. Might all this be causing useful swirling and maybe help the fuel stay in suspension. Wave front or flame front burning the fuel more completely comes to my mind although I do not have the modern two stroke knowledge that you have researched. Love watching and learning from you. A round of Opti 2 for everyone.
Finally all caught up in the videos got about 15 of your videos in this week been following along , than like you said in a recent video always something to do on this acreage this year seem little more than last couple. But great job tinman keep it up
Love how you did the camera .hey talk to Donny walker or his dad about McCulloch saw Let me have more info that you can use and I’m glad you getting rain I wish you could send the rain my way because all we have is the fire the Dixie fire that is my home stands but the town is gone
Great video bud. Glad your getting some rain!! The humidity finally broke here in Maine and I’m so glad. We don’t do well in humidity here. That was very odd how that wasn’t centered to the cylinder. I wonder if all the 850’s were like that?? As always WORK SAFE 😎😎🇨🇦🇺🇸
Hey tinman I have heard great things about you from tazman he’s a good buddy of mine. Anyways figured I would come over and check out a video. Awesome saws I see and I like macs keep rolling man.
I dont think they would hold up very long and a clamshell case is generally in ALL of the cheap or homeowner saws, making it tough to...do too much without special tooling, and small(generally cheaper) saws are hard to get in an grind even if it had a standard head
@@travisweldmaster7815 i know, but it would be a challenge in the least, just to see how cheap the engineering and manufacturing of the saws are! I have been running cheap saws for a few years, (poulan pro 5020, and have processed about 50 cord with it) and now just starting to have issues with it, but found out most of the issues are poor assembly ( loose nuts and fasteners) but runs strong when running! The poulan saws are a part of the Husqvarna family of saws and share many components so it may be worth looking into.
Really had a good chuckle about the "Mens Grooming Advice" early on.. yep. Being a guy I find my tools often pretty darn useful for removing "unadvertised" features. Heh. Great video. Really enjoy this stuff ..oh and the grooming advice.
Tinman thanks for so many tips on all of these saws sr. Really helps a lot. One question. Have you ever ported an old gear driven Mac? Love ya buddy. 🌲🌲🌲
Idk if mr tinman will be able to respond to everyone but from what I've heard him talk about mac's in past I dont believe I've ever heard him mention mac's, he says theyere "unabtanium" in his area so I really doubt it, if he responds hit me back, got my curiosity now, I do know hes done a few, but I doubt gear drive or I'm sure he would tell us
Have you ever put an anemometer on the intake of a saw for beginning and end comparison? I have 1 due here in a few days and I plan on doing a comparison when I get a chance. More should in theory mean more power.
Is that stock exhaust port sloppy manufacturing or intentional 🤔 im still not confident enough to grind on my mint 850,im just gunna keep grinding on the easy to accumulate husky 2 series lol those mccullochs are a strange design they pull like deisel tho lots of down low grunt, thanks for showing what your doing in great detail very much appreciated

Probably the best porting video I’ve seen . Of the actual port work itself . Thank you for this .

Great vid Tinman. It feels like we are sitting in the room with you.
Brilliant footage on the exhaust port grinding 👊🏻
That new grinder is amazing. Gives you all the control. Walker Iron horse and Tin man
Tinman, your closeups are other worldly!!!
Bless you TazMan, you are so inspirational.

Take care man

Porting by feel is an art. I try not to get hung up on numbers, but they do give you a base line and reference.
Enjoy your channel Tinman learning a lot from you. Thank you.
I love the angles and how well you show your porting👍😎
Hi I’m enjoying learning from you very happy
Just started taking a dremel to my 266 mahle jug. Opened up them transfers real good. Good job with the videos tinman. Always a pleasure
Excellent tutorial, you’ve inspired me to try some porting of my own. Wish me luck.
Well done sir. I dont port saws. But have hebuilt a few. I enjoy learning from others. Thank you
I agree man. My goal is to provide service for loggers and big wood arborists. Trying to learn all i can..keep teaching 🤙
AWESOME JOB ON THESE PORTING VIDEOS TINMAN ,,I LOVE WORKING ON SAWS ITS LIKE THERAPEUTIC CALMS THE SOUL ,TAKE ER EASY BUDDY
Your camera work was outstanding! I am learning so much from you I feel like I should be paying you, lol! 👍
Once again great info Mr. Tin man. Always like the way you put things across.

😵💫. Do you know what your doing?? Keep up the nice videos. 🤙
Hello Tin man, I would love to see what you could do with a cheap saw, just for laughs, keep up the good work!
I dont think they would hold up very long and a clamshell case is generally in ALL of the cheap or homeowner saws, making it tough to...do too much without special tooling, and small(generally cheaper) saws are hard to get in an grind even if it had a standard head
But it would be fun just to see what you could get away with for how long lol

Cant wait to see the Homelite Xl 922 being done!
Awesome video of step. By step porting of a Mac you need to get ahold of a G70 bone stock like a scary race saw or 125 there’s so much inaction there
The man that knows those Macs inside and out would be Bobby Walker I've only worked on 2 Macs not my specialty but I fixed wut needed fixed
Tinman thanks for so many tips on all of these saws sr. Really helps a lot. One question. Have you ever ported an old gear driven Mac? Love ya buddy. 🌲🌲🌲

I've never done one of those but maybe one day I'll end up with one!
sorry Tinman I think a million candle power is a bit inflated 😅😂

Very interesting vid. Thanks Tinman.
when porting its feeds and speeds bit of wax on the bit works well
The impuls line is different, but the transfers and intake are the same . Exhaust is alil different as the 610 has a valley cut into the exhaust roof
Damn that is cool talk about right there.
Thank you!!
Dumb question, why didnt you knife edge the rib in each transfer as well? Just trying to learn.
Open that puppy up!let it breathe! 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏
👍
Good stuff thanks mate
Do you port saws for the public?
How much you charge to port a saw I have a 372xpw 75cc be a new one to many it needs a coil first
Great!
Do you think finger ports on intake would help. Like ironhorse does on some of his.
I did that on the super pro 70. Going a different route this time.
@@tinmanssaws Gotcha you trying pick up some rpms. Little less torque try balance out try get that sweat spot.
You try do ports where they make channels direct air into ports. Been trying find more info on it haven't seen anyone one you tube show it.
I sent you some picture in messenger and another question my friend pick your brain a bit.
I think that's going to rip
Looking at the exhaust port it almost looked like someone messed with the port already
Yeah there was a chunk out of it fir sure.
If you take that cylinder and compare it too pm 610 , it is almost Identical
Like put it how it is . Same way I am open minded tho. Sometimes someone does something different turns out way better than you thaught.
Where are you located? Contact info?
don't port the exhaust much because it may trap the carbon, and turn it back to your piston
Fangers, lol
I'm blind I can't see. Bright light lol
