This was performed on Internet Explorer (IE) 32bit
Some cases just by Enabling Download Signed ActiveX Control is good enough
Error "Windows has blocked this software because it cannot verify the publisher" when you try to access a website which tries to install addons or run executables like installation CAB files.
By default Internet Explorer disable running unsigned ActiveX controls. Unsigned activeX controls are programs that tries to execute a command on your PC, like CAB install files or a ZIP file which do not have a digital signature.
While this is an important security measure on the Internet Explorer browser, if you are sure that the website is a trusted one then you can temporarily disable this security feature to get the website run the required ActiveX and later on re-enable the security.

Thank you for your work on this step-by-step video.
It worked flawlessly on my 32 bit Vista installation but I could not get it to work for my 32 bit Win XP or 64 bit Win 7 installs.
I've found that along with the steps that you've outlined, I needed to add the DVR/site - IP address/url to IE Options 'Trusted Sites' and then lower the level of security for 'Trusted Sites' to 'Low'. I was then offered the option to install the ActiveX control.
Again thank you for this video. I can not for the life of me figure out why the User Manual for my security system [Night Owl] makes no mention of any of these important, required steps.

Thx for reminding me of this vid & the issue I was havin'. I ended up figuring it out but I AM actually using a 64-bit OS (Win7 Ult). It didn't work for me at first because I was changing the settings for the wrong zone. Once I realized that, I got it to work. :)

hey we are having a little bit of trouble on our windows 7 machine everytime a program that uses the internet such as Itunes or Adobe installer trys to connect the internet our computer doesnt allow it too however our internet browser works just fine any ideas on how i might be able to fix this

Hi there . Recently I bought another PC tower . When I came to view my home cctv first I installed the software which came with the DVR , then when I tried to connect, a usual popup "User Login" appears saying Password, Network (which is -Internet) and Language.
Usualy in the Langauage drawer appers the word automaticaly "English" but now it's a blank drawer.
How can insert (English) in the mentioned drawer to run the program pleas?.
If it's not impossible for you, tell me step by step what shall I do to resolve such problem cause I'm stucked right here.

In Windows 8 or if you're running Internet Explorer 10, even after you do everything he says here, you have to navigate to your Program Files (x86) / Internet Explorer folder and right click iexplorer.exe and select "Run As Administrator" Then you will be able to backup your files.

Havin' the same problem with rsvideoocx.cab from a Zmodo DVR that I'm tryin' to access remotely. I've tried this and a ton of other stuff from other websites to no avail.
