"Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software"
1. Start-Run-gpedit.msc
2. Navigate to
User Configuration-Administrative Templates-System-Driver Installation-Code signing for drivers
For people who don't run windows professional or above, you can use a registry tweak.
If you cannot access UI to change the policy, you may change the related Registry value:
Location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Driver Signing

Nice video, works, thanks. Too chicken to turn this off generally, so what I need is to turn off that function for a specific driver. Assume it can t be done. Buying new hardware so the driver that supposedly works with win 10. Thanks again.

I've been having an issue installing a printer driver because its not digitally signed. I used the BCDEDIT to turn off driver signing using test mode. . I always suspected group policy was blocking my driver from installing. I will try to automate a registry change to allow the driver to be installed and then edit to back again. Thanks I will try this Monday and report results back.

I have the option to upgrade on W10 but every time i go to upgrade the installation always hangs around 84% and i have to manually reset my pc. Could this be a problem on my pc or maybe a corrupt file on the download from the update?
Been racking my brain on trying to get a non signed driver to install. After following this it still doesn't work for me in windows 10 pro. I find it curious that the supported on doesn't even state windows 10 let alone windows 7, so I'm curious how this is going to work? Or if there's a second setting change that's required to accomplish this?

This does NOT work for Windows 10. As you can see at 1:55 it states in the description "Server 2003, Windows XP and Windows 2000 only." No use with other OS versions.

So we should to restore only the drivers those in the default list of double driver not all them, to resould the windows security warning messages.

Windows 7 Home -> Registry Editor -> Compouser\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Driver Signing\Policy was set to 00 already and I have the driver signing warning. Unsure this fix works?

This is the method for my Hp Pavillion DV3000 ( dv3650ep pt-pt Kb), apparently I had to reinstall the non-signed controllers for the Quick Launch Buttons and WLAN Card (Intel Pro 5100 AGN) to work in normal boot mode. No more third party software involved or bcdedit.exe tickering. Latest updates forced legacy HP Products to make this move, MS should maintain old drivers signature active indefinitely for major brands, the penalty goes for the user not the brand.

trying to dual boot windows 10 and 7, I did disable driver signature but installing windows 7 requires multiple restarts and once it restarts the driver signature turns back on by itself and won't let me install win7, can anyone help me please
