I really like these project build videos. I originally found your channel thanks to your Indomitus series so it’s nice to see something that isn’t just one mini.
I would not be surprised by the admech to vatgrow some skulls for dekoration purpose. Also great tutorial. I will try painting my sets in a similar manner. Maybe its time for me to dive into the pigments.
Great video, they don't have to be tutorials to be insightful and informative 🙂 Something like this, especially using a previous tutorial video, gives us a great understanding of how the regular tutorials scale up for full projects
Great video as always! I do appreciate that you keep air brushing to a minimum. I had one ages ago, but just never really felt that I was getting better with it. With the advent of multicolored spray cans (I'm old), shades, glazes and purpose dry brushes, I just don't feel the need for an airbrush given how much I paint. That said, when you do use it, it is still informative and helpful!
Great terrain to paint, like you I kept mine super simple. Based with Vallejo German Red Brown then a drybrush with Vallejo Gunmetal, and finally a top down drybrush with Vallejo Aluminium. The downside to this is that it made me want to repaint all my sector mechanicus terrain to match. And now Brutal and Cunning is on the way.
Good job man! Feel sorry for us plebs that painted the full Volkus set by hand! Looking forward to getting Brutal and Cunning next week and completing the new scenery to match what I have!
I had planned to paint it all by hand like i had done for the first video, I just forgot how long the filming of everything takes on top of trying to get it done within work hours! Even then the video was still a day late haha
@@MediocreHobbies Just on the eve of getting my copy. For painting the breakaway sections and doors how would you advise doing my priming, painting and varnishing for the new terrain? Just some best practice to ensure those sections can be rough handled when its all done and dusted?
Awesome … I’m looking to pick up two sets of each of these terrain sets. Will go hand in hand with the two sets of Octarius terrain I have. Will really supplement my ork home world for 40K. I used to play more kill team but most of my friend group now plays full 40K.
I think you’ve smashed it out to a real nice standard! I’ve done my terrain red so like the Chalnath scenery, so my question to you would be what colour weathering powder would you suggest?
They would work to add different tones to the terrain, it's just preference whether you would an oil stained look or dust effect from local terrain, if that makes sense? It's also quicker to work up colours with pigment powder than with washes.
@rymic72, it was already out of control with 20 years of collecting, I would have bought most of the stuff I get sent now anyway, except maybe some of the Legions imperialis stuff!
@@MediocreHobbies Fair play to you having the channel and building it up as you have! Any and all the things sent your way are well deserved. It’s rather obvious given your enthusiasm that you’d be after painting these even if you had to buy every single kit.
The no-airbrush-rule is much appreciated, thanks! Also, great video! 👌
Glad you agree with it, thanks man!
Youre vidéo are incredible value for us ! Thank you
Absolutely lovely as always, I've often wondered what became of your kits after a video, now I know! :D
Your killzone looks absolutely stunning
cheers man!

Ah good to know that, will try do a few more like this! The Indomitus series was great to make(even if it nearly killed me 😅)
Two things drew me to your channel originally. No airbrush and short video runtimes. So I really do appreciate the setup you have

Great video Andy, hoping to be able to get all my Volkus stuff done soon, and I think I might copy most of your scheme, so thank you.
Awesome, hope you enjoy it!

Great to hear it, I'll try to do more like this!
Great job. I did my hive Strom like this. If I can pick up the expansion will do that too.
That would be great!
Cheers Andy! Really love these videos. Projects like these are awesome. Absolutely nailed the character of the terrain, well done man 👊🏻
I do need to set aside more time for project videos, i love doing them!

That is very cool to see a real world hobbyist approach to the kit. Would washes/shades work in place of the weathering powder?

Can you also film playing the brutal and cunning compound siege mission? No one has been using the kill zone extension in battle reports
can we get more old wold
This…
Ehh
old world is best world
Trying to cover a lot of different games for everyone!
I don’t think there’s a one of us that can comprehend the massive pile of shame you must have accumulated with all the sets you’ve been sent.
Well. I have models going back 40 years that never got painted. I don't get a package every week with new GW releases...
