Clock Reset - This may or may not work with your microwave, but I set up a very simple dumb clock reset for three clocks in our house. If the batteries are removed, the clocks reset to the same time (12 pm in this case) every time the power is cycled. So I added a smart plug and turn off the power for about 15 seconds ending at 12 pm every day. This means the clocks are always very accurate and I don't have to reset them after a power outage or for Daylight Saving Time. The down side is that I may have to endure up to a day of incorrect time if a power outage is soon after the reset. Two of the clocks annoyingly beeped every time the power came back on, so I opened them up and carefully scratched a gap in the circuit leading to the beeper on the printed circuit board. Since we did not need the alarms in these clocks, the beeping problem was solved.
For lights: Warm white, but not 2200K or similar, that is way too warm. 3000K to 4000K is where it's at. 4000K if you use them during day, 3500K if it's more during evening (before sunset), and 3000K if you mostly use them after sunset. All great stuff! Have you looked into changing the leds on the innovelli switches yet? I use them like you use your motion sensor for notifications and it is super helpful. If they are all red, the alarm is set, so we know to disarm before letting the dog out :).
If your air gradient is correct at the time of recording, your indoor co2 levels were 1000ppm. That’s borderline on “turn on ventilation” and drowsiness levels.
Any reason you went with the Inovelli Red switch to control the Hue lights, instead of using a pico remote via home assistant? You could just hard wire the lights to be on all the time, and use the Pico to trigger on/off/dim and would match your other switches.
5:16 they screwed up the USB-C connector. You need to use a cable that’s A-C with it, because C-C doesn’t supply any power until it knows something is connected, which is what they screwed up.
I got recommended the Jaspr air filter, apparently its really good. Its expensive but could be better about the air quality than simply notifying you. I would love a review of this product from you
I've been procrastinating on doing that because it's not straightforward. In The Netherlands it's common to have "whole house" (in reality it's usually just kitchen, toilet and bathroom) ventilation box that always run at a slow speed - and you can crank it up when cooking/showering/etc. You can get either wired rotary control (from what I can see on wiring schematics it's just phase being sent via different pin) or typical EU plug and wireless controller. Since this box was replaced a while before I got into home automation (I think back then something like "Mr. House" written in Perl was the way to go) I took the wireless option. Works fine for manually switching it on in the kitchen. Not so great for So now instead of simply controlling 3 relays to select the higher speeds - I need to figure out how to record/replay the RF remote signals, and whatever logic it's using to pair up remote and box after power outage.
Sunrise and sunset together account for about 20-25% of the warm light we experience. Daylight duration daylight makes up about 75-80% of the day. Who needs a vote when the facts are plain! I mean if you really like the warm colors wouldn't you put on orange shades you'd wear for the day? Get her some Blublockers!
Do you have any automation for the egg cooker, so that it will switch off when the eggs are cooked? Mine has an alarm, but I'd like it to switch itself off when they are done so I don't have to rush back to the kitchen
I wasn't able to watch the video yet, but I use a light that is as close to natural daylight as possible, i bought new ledstrips for the kitchen exclusively for the kitchen. Warm white lights mess with the colors of food a bit, and I'm around cold white lights enough at work.
I liked the concept of Showing Food Prep for Today and Tomorrow and Wanted to know more about it . Can you please share the code here to do analysis more and implement for myself
If the clock is always exactly 5 minutes fast, could you try setting the time for 5 minutes earlier than the actual time, so by the time it glitches out, it will be the correct time?
Is there a reason for leaving the sidebar visible on the dashboard? I'm also a big fan of removing the top bard as well so it looks less like a browser page.
13:00 - why use the red series when the blue series supports binding via Zigbee to Hue? If the HA instance goes down, it couldn't process the automation otherwise
That’s a good point. I’ve just had that switch for years and if my HA instance goes down then I would just restore it quickly since so much stuff uses it around my house.

5:16 they screwed up the USB-C connector. You need to use a cable that’s A-C with it, because C-C doesn’t supply any power until it knows something is connected, which is what they screwed up.
Dashboard video on calendar would be good.
Reed what water leak sensor did you use? I don't see it listed or anyone commenting on it.
Thankyou in advance
I got recommended the Jaspr air filter, apparently its really good. Its expensive but could be better about the air quality than simply notifying you. I would love a review of this product from you
That’s so cool 12:45
Love the different notifications for dishwasher and air quality in the HA dashboard! Did you use a HACS integration for that?
Which protocol is more reliable like wifi, zigbee, matter or bluetooth and which you use more.
Looking forward to the pixel dashboard setup. I want the same setup.
You should definitely automate the vent fan. Ours automatically turn on when we’re cooking.
Not so great for
So now instead of simply controlling 3 relays to select the higher speeds - I need to figure out how to record/replay the RF remote signals, and whatever logic it's using to pair up remote and box after power outage.
What about the faucet? Isn't that a flow by moen smart faucet?
Nope, just a normal faucet. We’ve thought about getting that though and just never pulled the trigger on it.
Team warm, it's classy and....warm.
If the clock is always exactly 5 minutes fast, could you try setting the time for 5 minutes earlier than the actual time, so by the time it glitches out, it will be the correct time?
How does the tablet work for voice control and/or playing music?
Is there a reason for leaving the sidebar visible on the dashboard? I'm also a big fan of removing the top bard as well so it looks less like a browser page.
13:00 - why use the red series when the blue series supports binding via Zigbee to Hue? If the HA instance goes down, it couldn't process the automation otherwise
That’s a good point. I’ve just had that switch for years and if my HA instance goes down then I would just restore it quickly since so much stuff uses it around my house.
Team white light for the kitchen. How did you get the tablet to listen for the wake word?
i have 2 shelfies but cant figure out how to add it to my Home Assistant, did you get yours connected?
So how did you get the timers and music working? (did I miss it in the video?)
Yayy another video
Are you using the Google assistant SDK integration in HA to make the announcements? Been tinkering with getting the announcements to work, but only half a at the moment.
5:10 - This device does not conform with the USB-C standards. It is a popular defect of many inexpensive devices made in China
P.S. Warm light!
When you think your spouse loves your automations but she honestly just likes it when you cook.
