Great collection of videos. Very informative. I will put several of your lessons to good use this fishing season in Canada. Very interesting knot used to tie on fly. I'm going to give it a try right now. I look forward to new videos
Thanks for another great video. You are my favourite, you always go into detail which is very important as I am new to this type of angling. Happy new year!
Thank you for this amazing video. I caught 3 trouts today 11.24 lb and a smaller 6.8 lb using the same fly. Sadly lost the fly on my 3rd take, as it got tangled into some roots i believe. The stream was a lot faster then the one you were fishing, and i had to make my own leader with much greater break strength, as well as a tippet which is more suitable for the water. although the twitching and the knot made the difference i believe.
hello from Cyprus. excellent videos my friend. i like the way you explain things and how you say nothing more and nothing less :) keep up the good work
you are very good at presenting!!! great speaker, lots of skills.... but you will need a new camera to film with lol.. i would pay for any DVD fish tutorial that you make cheers from USA!!!!!
Big fan of your videos, I was disappointed to see you drop tag end of tippet you cut away. We all have a responsibility to look after our rivers and environment
I think there's a language difference here. In the US I believe the word 'mayfly' refers to any upwinged fly, hatching throughout the year, which seems a bit odd to us. Here, we used to use the expression 'dayfly', but this seems to have fallen out of use. The word 'mayfly' refers here to a group of more or less large varieties of ephemerid which hatch in early summer. In this case danica, which is really big. You can use hooks up to long-shank 10's.
Arron Beaton no , no , i got that one connected to my head line, but after that part, from the last loop, how do you go to the normale fishline, what kind of knot do you use, and how do you attach your fly to that line? My english isnt that good, i hope you can help :)
I really like that knot that you tied your Mayfly with. Thanks for that.
One of your best videos. I agree, the dry fly knot you demonstrate looks to be a good one. I enjoy your presentation and comments
Johnathan, many thank for this tutorial! One of your best videos yet!

Another nice video Jonathan - keep up the good work. I would like to see you giving the same care in returning the small fish as the larger ones.

Gr8 video, ole chap!
Schöner Knoten! Aber schau Dir mal den noch einfacheren Knoten von Raimund Bleninger an! Der hält genauso gut und ist noch einfacher zu binden!
What size hook is that fly tied on Where I live in the US no mayfly is that big. Most are tied on size 14 to size 20. Do you have caddis flies there?

hi,
i'm kinda new to flyfishing,
and i wonder how did you attach the line where the fly attached to is, to your main line?
Arron Beaton no , no , i got that one connected to my head line, but after that part, from the last loop, how do you go to the normale fishline, what kind of knot do you use, and how do you attach your fly to that line?
My english isnt that good, i hope you can help :)
+Willem Berends look up the double uni knot, it works very well!
Pheasant tail for the tail, not partridge.
great fishing, 😀
hi whats the name of the knot which you show on video!!!!!!
Muy buena mosca la monte sali al río y me dio dos buenas capturas una fario de un kilo y una arco iris de ochocientos gramo
It's a triple surgeons knot from what I can see
pheasant tail fibres Jonathan not partridge
wild fish fight really hard - as opposed to stockies
for mayfly try a mozzle
You should wet your hands every time you handle a fish man. I know you do most times. Great video. Thanks.
Jon Atkinson your not very observant, watch again
True
Everyone's a freakin trout expert on youtube posts. My god
11:42..... no wetting of the hand. :-)

not tight.
Vladimir Charous He did!
Of course, few people spend 35 minutes on anything worthwhile, to say nothing of the tying of a fly.
