I can’t be the only one that, while loving GH and JB two up, thought maybe GH had had a couple too many belgian ales (but only slightly) prior to recording. I mean it would help explain his frequent “talkovers” of Johan. All the same, great stuff. Wish I had the 💰 💰 for a trip to Belgium with those guys!

Great episode. I really like this format with George being more vocal. The conversation flowed much better. Johan spoke like they were at the dinner table. No dumbing down the conversation. For the first time I heard two very experienced ex pros have a great conversation without holding back and it had a great flow. Im not sure but I think George was a little buzzed but it really worked . Probably not being individually remote and in the same room had a lot to do with the flow.

30:00 pogacar led into the Kruisberg, flicked the elbow and there was a hesitation from Wout to take the front... MVDP must have seen it or felt that the pace was slowing down, so when Wout had finished his pull, MVDP jumped from behind instead of rotating through.

I get it, with the history of Festina and the later LA scandals. But if the resulting anti-doping institutions are considered a joke, what makes watching pro-cycling events any different from watching wrestling or bodybuilding? For that matter, it must be the case that major sports like football, basketball, and baseball are all just doper contests.

This little details sum up makes difference. And van der poel attack was nice but costly him in last climb. Gg for pogacar.

Good show! On the disqualification, I now believe any rider or riders who can be shown (thru video) to have "Caused a Collision" should be DQ'd. Its not a matter of breaking a specific rule or a judgement of intent, it is solely about rider safety. Similar to F1, cycling needs to begin to hold riders accountable for poor judgement, regardless of injury or impact on the race.

"This happens a thousand times a day". This same argument is what creates a lot of problems in this world. Just because something is not punished, although it states in the rules that you are not allowed to use the side of the road to advance positions and it happens all the time does not mean it is not good to disqualify somebody. Just like saying hey everybody on this highway speeds, it happens all the time, so now this person has caused a crash we should not punish him or her. It happens all the time! That is insane! You should ask the UCI why it is not always punished? That should be the right conclusion. Well, my answer is that the UCI is notorious for not applying its own rules or do it consistently.

I honestly think he gets all 5 monuments and all 3 GT's its attrition he needs and roubaix provides it issue will be weight and race schedule he will have to be heavy and be a year where he maybe targets spring , vuelta and worlds maybe. Its like a boxing match that goes 12 rounds as opposed to 15 with the extra distance of flanders is no wonder race played out so different to much shorter prelude of E3 where he couldn't get away on climbs look at the difference made on final ascents thats just torque just like pave provides. Look what he did in tour cobbled stage last year and that was while targeting GC as light as possible while mantaining power and he smoked everyone but stuyven in theory every guy going for green should be minutes ahead. Took wout targeting green to drag rest of field back towards him and that wasnt a 6:30 hour day with 5 star sectors of pave.
I honestly think MSR is ironically going to be one that will be most elusive despite being easiest to make final selection and one he probably races every year he said so himself after race today. Its a lottery or counter punchers/puncheurs race its long but not selective or attritional enough for him to make poggio and cipressa decisive, its a race gilbert and sagan were built for and neither won that tells you all you need to know. He wins GC and monuments for a reason best endurance and legs in generations ....he is first to win flanders and tour in 50 years and only 3 ever. He will try so we will see:)

Yall really make you feel like listeners are there.
I used to be just a TDF fan until The Move many years ago. Always look forward to all the shows.
