  • Today I'm starting a new series on how to avoid astrological burnout. That might seem weird to talk about on a daily astrology channel, but I want to help people avoid feeling like they get to a breaking point with the consumption of astrological content that is somehow negative or not healthy for them.

    You’re an absolute joy to watch. I don’t have many people in my life that understand astrology to the depths I do, so it’s just really really nice to hear someone who speaks on a truly deep level of knowledge. THANK YOU.

    I've put myself on an Astro pause for a few days. I didn't want to consume any more astro info and just wanted to live and "be", and re- center to being simply me with out all the labels and definitions etc. Then this video popped up. I love astrology, and will continue my consumption of it. But need time to just Be.

    This was great! Recently I had to unsubscribe from several astrologers on TH-cam because I couldn’t handle the dramatic presentation they often lead with. Your one of very few that don’t dramatize. It’s not that I think there’s nothing bad in this world but hyper focusing on bad shit all the time is just too much!

    If you’re one of those people who is really attached to outcomes and struggles to accept fate, if you like to grip the steering wheel of your life with white knuckles, you’re going to be a lot more likely to struggle with astrological anxiety. Every transit will start to seem malefic at that point. Best thing to do is cultivate amor fati or at least equanimity.

    What a blessed video. I recently introduced a friend of mine to Astrology and it does nothing but cause him anxiety. I told him to step away from it and only handle it with the help and support of a professional because he was catastrophizing every single transit. Granted, these are trying times and people are struggling but it's never good to place a good weapon in the wrong hands.

      I also noticed overall that yes a ton of videos can evoke that prep stress of even big happy events. I mean there's not a wedding or joyful holiday gathering that doesn't evoke some kind of prep stress. And I realize when these come in hard and fast. Like whoa, it does get stressful just like the sky o clock news or say, the in laws are visiting from overseas!

    Very interesting topic Adam, ty. I love Astrology, has changed my life. I think I get overwhelmed, not burned out. When I have taken in too much info I will step back & kinda like 'let it unravel before me' instead of hurting my brain, lol.

    I needed this!! I’m a couple classes behind on your year one class studies and have absolutely hit the wall. I don’t think I can do the overlap of year two. This was so wise and reassuring to hear.
    I think you can do some ambulance chasing with astrology if you want to. Lol. Which I avoid completely. However, I do naturally end up “first on scene” (because I’m always listening to my intuition to let off the gas.). I love and needed to hear this. Even alone taking your class, I immediately stopped watching a lot of the various styles of astrology so I can concentrate on Hellenistic. This has helped to back of psychological. And to distance. Just love you so much!

      I really resonate with your comment! I’m about 6 classes behind because I had a baby and I’ve just surrendered to being able to watch it when I’m ready to digest it. I too have pretty much stopped ingesting modern astrology because I was just getting too confused learning Hellenistic at the same time!

    I'm so glad you brought this up. So since ive been studying and learning on my own. I've looked at family members charts, after they passed away. And also people we know. And fate really freaks me out! And I wonder how does this match happen. So thats the part I get anxious about astrology. Cause when somthing comes up with my living family members or myself. I get scared or paranoid. I love astrology, it's incredible how it all aligns. I just take it too far sometimes. It could become dark. Cause I'm curious to challenge myself If it's true how planets, transits, nodes, placements aligning with natal charts with current. It blows myle away. So thats the part I get concerned about. And as a mother I look my 2 kids charts and get worried. Then I feel wrong for looking. Then I feel like I'm sinning Cause of the bible. And tell myself am I wrong for looking do I really need to know if it's causing fear. I still want to be curious and learn to know more. Thanks Adam. ❤

    -I rarely look at my own, unless I’m looking for a specific “something”.
    Example- man I snapped at my sister really badly today…I feel off.
    Then I can look and see if there’s a weird transit between us that went wrong.

  • @nikangel5362

    Yes we definitely cant escape fate. When my Father passed away in 2006. It all matched up. (He overdosed from drugs)
    Then when my Mom got cancer in 2019 and my Papa passed. It all matched again! Even my own moon sign of Mother. Anyway she is fine now🙏 thank God i love my Mom, and alls i could do is pray for loved ones for protection from Gods Angels. So i think i kinda have had a reason to check. Cause of my parents and even other circumstances. Going forward now... just being postive, and not obsessing over any possible causes or whatever. Cause great, beautiful things have happened. Like bringing children into the world and jupiters blessings. Etc ill take the good with the bad and be grateful. I love ur channel and appreciate ur honesty. 🙏

    The first time I did a reading with an astrologer/medium many years ago, I request that they don’t tell me anything “negative”. I will never forget the wise advise I received: “Being afraid of something doesn’t mean it can’t/ won’t happen - but if something “negative” does happen, it gives you the foresight to get ready for it.” Now that I am so deep into astrology myself, I always look for the “positive” first, and approach the “negative” with the following questions: what would this transit teach me (how will it help me grow?) and what are the remedies I can use to make this trait smoother (what tools/mindset do I need to move through this?). Essentially, how can the good aspects help balance the more challenging ones. This why I always appreciate astrologers who can keep it light and help us navigate and find remedies even during the “watch out” transits.

    Great talk and advice. I think it's important to know which astrologers have a style that works with you and which ones don't. Just because they are knowledgeable on the topic doesn't mean their content will suit you.
    I love astrologers that have an objective style or balance approach to sharing the archetypal influences

    Really needed this. I have experienced most of the things described in this video, except I've never been scared of astrology. When the north node was going through my 1st in Gemini, I dealt with this much more, but I learned how to pace myself with consuming content. We really need to use discernment and focus on sensory/mental rest when burned out by content, yet still craving it.
    I'm a student of Year 1 Nightlight 24, and by the time Mars was in Gemini (my time lord and 1H Gemini), I realized I couldn't keep up anymore. I was in denial for a long time. I felt a lot of FOMO. I've been really scattered and overwhelmed with studying astrology. Comparing myself to other students, it made me feel inadequate, like I wasn't capable of studying. It took me until this past month to admit, accept, and decide to take a break from studying astrology. I'm using this break to focus on other things instead.
    Reasons like this make me grateful that your course is lifetime access. Astrology is one of the hardest things I've ever tried to study, and I need to find my learning style and go at my own pace. Wish I was able to keep up. I have natal Saturn in Aquarius in my 9th. This year is 10 years I've been practicing astrology. Saturn in Capricorn & Aquarius taught me that I need to take these things slow!

  • @Radiant.Disruption
    @Radiant.Disruption ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I feel like it always is so true, like looking back at transits, and going “oh there it is!”has allowed me to be able to look, and to be able to look not only for the right things, but how to interpret them with potential, with fate, and with personal actions…
    I find that it can be helpful to look on the daily of your life is easy and calm, and your just kind of looking for general daily vibes etc.
    I find it can be extremely detrimental to people when they are mentally under stress, and are looking for an answer, looking for blame, looking for a reason…when sometimes, stuff just is. Stuff just happens.
    Delving into the depths is awesome, understanding the aspects, degrees, decans, etc etc…but it CAN 100% be a rabbit hole, and I think being aware of one’s own tendencies for hyper fixated focuses can be the best.
    It doesn’t help that it’s SO interesting and everytime- it seems to prove true.

    The thing with this is, I am learning astrology so I watch a good handful of channels, and I learned an awful lot already. But what I learned, too, is that some channels strive from spreading the crisis stuff, so I try to distinguish more which ones have a realistic view on astrology and not only wants to create clicks by revving people up! My own chart isn’t the easiest, always when I have a good phase with some nice transits I have at least one heavy one kicking my butt at the same time, blowing it all up. Sometimes I need a break indeed and occupy myself with some entirely different stuff, but I always come back. But also I sometimes wish I could unsee some of the things I‘ve seen.

    This was so helpful. I have always been a follower and have learned to make it a joy and part of my journaling process. I listen to weekly forecasts on Sunday or Monday for the week and journal the key moments as a way to reflect on what I’m personally going through against the transits. And thenI read at the start of the month a monthly overview. It sets me up for the week and month. Hope that might help someone.

    I have (almost) finished your year one program, about to start year two. Plus, the excessive amount of TH-cam videos I take in daily on top of reading a ridiculous amount of charts in recent months.. oh and life!! Ahhhh!! I decided to give myself a break, take a step back, and live the transits in real time rather than be hard on myself for not keeping up. Astrology burnout is a real thing. It will be there tomorrow (or another day) as you said, the heavens never stop moving and the content will be there whenever I am ready to jump back on it. Thanks for this message today Adam i needed to hear this ☺️

    There are techniques astrologers use that I wouldn’t ever consider using, like electional. I’m the person who just views astrology as passively active where it’s working regardless of how aware you are or not. So far, I don’t think I’ve seen a transit actually work out an expected way but they do fit themes in terms of archetype. They tend to be casual, like paying attention to this channel again where the 3rd house was brought up which also aligned with being aware of Joseph Campbell which made me aware of his collections of essays/lectures on the goddesses. It was probably a transit episode that made me go “ha! That’s a transit theme” and just bought it. What has kept my interest in astrology is its ability to direct AWAY from astrology, oddly enough. There may be a REALLY interesting way of making the 3rd house more interesting.
    What was inadvertently useful, he breaks the purpose of religion/spirituality/myth into 4 functions. Cosmological is inherent in astrology, obviously. Metaphysical and mystical, this seems an emphasis with many in astrology including Adam but this can probably include astrological magicians. Sociological, there are definitely branches related to these in various forms. Pedagogical, this is my primary interest. One case would be the example above with the 3rd house. PS: Campbell does address something Adam said once about Campbell saying people didn’t actually BELIEVE the myths. He has another breakdown of 3 types, the mystical were/are literal as some are not. Example: Christianity is primarily social but you do come across a different function that actually believes in demons and Rambo Jesus.
    I actually just checked this since I was taken back that I found (with mars going into Leo, my 12th) that religion can fall into the 12th in a nasty way. When my 9th house profection happened, I ended up reading a Jungian book called Dark Religion (you touched on some of these topics in this episode).. Venus (9th is taurus) was in Leo so.. astrology may be 9th, but it has a square with big nasty over there. I’d experience some of that when as astro-oliger would highlight mars in libra and have things to say but I’ve seen far too many charts with it to not say this doesn’t work out great for the native even if others don’t like it. I actually have a great chart for the sign sympathy system.
    Positive astrology initially had me study astrology to figure out why it’s wrong. I (personally) was refreshed with some of the more harsh interpretations because I’ve lived my life for this long and I know it was unpleasant. Traditional, even though it’s often overly harsh, there’s some truth to it. But, I have an ascendant/MC ruler in the 12th that just makes it like that. I also have libra placements a certain way that are 🤦🏻‍♂️ about that and some other things since they have strong influences.
    I can get into dark subjects and not be bothered, but I know people (especially after covid/lockdowns) that have gone down these negative holes where they’ll say it makes them feel better, but you can observe by their behavior and thinking that they’re going into a bottomless/pointless pit. I think you did a good job by stating directly or indirectly that some may be looking for that thing or transit that’s going to make things better but they’re mixed bags. My Venus profection year has been so much fun that I despised the idea of a Mercury ruled one, after this clustered transit in taurus I’m all “I’m totally done with this…” 😂
    My natal 12th brings up topics related to this topic where ideas meant to build up self worth/self esteem (etc) become toxic and destructive to self and others. It does include “toxic positivity”. My weeks, I avoid it, but I’m a magnet and deeply enthralled by it in my spare time.
    Politics today, especially media coverage, is designed to fill a person with anxiety and fear because it keeps people tuned it. It’s an extremely dangerous thing to play around with real social consequences but.. whatever gets people to longhorn steakhouse is what matters. It’s best to keep in mind when, say, watching political news.. they just want to scare you to get donations and people want advertising revenue. None of it is personal, they couldn’t care less about you. ❤️ It’s not worth watching.
    Same can be said about popular astrology. That scary transit my make a person anxious all day for no reason. A nice 7th house transit may convince you you’ll meet the love of your life so a person may believe they do, but they don’t. Or, whatever.
    I take breaks getting bored or I get tired of looking through that lens for periods. I’m working on something but not sure what yet.
    But, whatever happens is going to happen. Whatever you do, you’re going to do.
    Having it take so long to find a route to understanding the 12th drove me a little nuts. But one the nut was cracked I knew exactly what it was. I was intrigued by the Cleopatra controversy knowing the intent was to show a role model, but the trailer looked like mein kampf. Then intrigued when people started actually ACTING like it. It’s not for everyone, you can see why libra placements would be 🤦🏻‍♂️ about it.
    A social aspect to astrology I like is it potentially helping people understand each other.

    ❤ Yeah, I'm sometimes having troubles finding focused questions or intentions or identifying problems.
    Once, I went to a psychich reader, because my mum had a spot there she didnt need and I was curious, I had never been. It was quite amazing, she took my hand into hers and I could feel a really spectacular energy flow through me. She looked at me and then she said: "your soul has no questions, I've never seen that" 😂😂😂
    I ended up asking about my new flame, now almost husband. She gave me extremely interesting, slightly worrying information...
    Anyways I had to think of that many times, because it's really true. I used to watch Pam Gregorys Channel because she's such a sweet English Lady, but this talk about "it's the new moon, you've got to set an intention" really stressed me out. Thanks for such great reflection....

    Adam: People across the spectrum
    Me: LOL "People on the spectrum" that's me. Just watching all the content.
    You also said something about it being like the news. That's basically how I originally encountered astrology was in 2020 watching the news and watch astrology.
    I've gone through some of the burn out already. Like some difficult transits with difficult shit happening in the world and I just had to scroll past it all so that my brain wouldn't melt and implode.
    Still no matter what the transits are I don't often find your content stressful. In fact during darker transits I love that you encourage us to embrace them and know ourselves. Like you often seem to exists adjacent to the "love and light" folks but then when harsh transits come Dark Adam starts giving out Sith wisdom and it always makes so happy. Lol. I think only a couple times have you been more intense than I was ready for and even then you're always handing out nuggets and not just fear mongering like so many astrologers do.
    In fact that fear mongering shit has caused me to access what astrologers I pay attention to. You tend to be a rather trustworthy and safe source and I've found some decent people on tiktok who seem to care about their viewers. Now there's is one personI follow who does stress me sometimes, but they put out some fire content along the way do I make space for them. Still during difficult transits sometimes it's best just to scroll past. But not you... even in the harshest transits your content is often focused on helping us find the best relationship to the transits as possible and I super appreciate that.
    Okay so I'm not even done with the video. I'm gonna go watch the rest.

    I think of current transits as being a bit like the weather forecast - as you suggest, the archetypal weather forecast - interesting to know, but more about probabilities and possibilities. In the past, I have found transits information most useful as a tool for gaining insights about what I am already aware of experiencing. Attachment to a prediction can be quite a minefield - not only do we need to keep in mind that interpretations are filtered through the experience, understanding and consciousness of the person who has interpreted the transit data, but also that if we step forward with expectations of what will happen, we have already limited our experience before we even get there.

    For those even less knowledgeable about astrological conditions and planetary movements, it might be even more stressful so this is quite a compassionate and thoughtful discussion. I have managed to hop onto one lovely thematic period upcoming! And do new moons! Perhaps overall a stepback on-the-same-page approach would be helpful. Versus feeling sometimes under siege where who knows what movements or events or alignments come crashing through that side door, that one window, who knows when! I had almost forgotten that a, for example, recent significant Saturn movement wasnt a month but an actual 3 year significance! So I'm not missing the boat! What might be stressful is trying to lay out retrogrades that might eat into chunks of goal setting or motivation or drive or ambition. It's also the approach I've started to notice. Sometimes expert channels posting charts and what's the sometimes stressful energy and titled thumbnails in bold flashing alarming or downer adjectives is overwhelming and DOES feel like six o clock bad news. Yes! Check in to self!

    Amazing video! “The Wheel in the Sky keeps on Turning” We will all experience different things at different times in life. I avoided the whole Mars in Gemini transit. It wasn’t helpful for me at the time given I knew where it fell in my natal chart. It didn’t show up in the way I thought, given my natal history with this transit. However, it did still fit the theme! knowing this a head of time helped me prepare. It’s nice to know the potential upcoming weather. It’s not always going to turn out as the best or worse case scenario. I believe that being there for one other is important. As we will all experience positive and negative circumstances that life gives us. It reminds us of the oneness we are all part of. We are all in this together. Laughter is so special from my point of view! Thank you Adam! Also! Thank you Ashley for sharing your wisdom on herbal healing, especially during challenging transits!

    So insightful and helpful. I actually find a lot of relief in thinking that, when I'm having a tough time or a day/week when things just aren't working and everything seems off, well it's not entirely down to me that I'm feeling like this, or that things keep going wrong. It's like a surrender of trying to control my life. I still do my best, I still try to understand the workings of my inner world better, but at the end of the day, if my natal Saturn is being squared or my natal Mars is being powerfully aspected in a tricky way... Then there's only so much I can do. I can let go a little and wait and watch. And I find that really important to remember during the easy happy transits, because you want them to last forever 😂 but the heavens are always moving. And my mantra is always "This too shall pass!" hopefully this helps someone 🙏

    I'm an practicing astrologer and human design experiencer from my home base in ND.
    I quit working my so called 9-5 job in 2020 and for me u needed to learn how to back away from everyone and then people bounce in when they need me... this last year has been the more me just being me and when someone just shows up I guide them to whatever they are interested in. Card reading for some... chart reading for some astrology or human design chart. I give people the tools and say you can learn this in your own or call me if you have questions.
    I listen other astrologers on TH-cam for different perspectives and when I'm like wow this teacher for me doesn't make since anymore then I know it's time to move on to the next teacher for me. I ask the universe ok who's my next collaborator?
    So 2-3 weeks ago they brought me to you... so this video is making me laugh and very happy because I have now grown to my next stage. You made my day cuz I was on vacation from a shit load of people and things and paint in my studio...listen to music and walk around my gardens... leaving my phone and whatever energies I needed to release really felt better for it. I love your perspectives most I know some are knew but I truly like your later back approach... so thank you do much for bumping into my path.

    Btw a great friend of mine...♉1955 model had texted me the day b4 your podcast and you were wearing a greatful dead shirt so I sent him your video and it helped him so much... he used to tour with them back in the day and I knew it was a sign...
    It was do thank you and thank the God's above for us sharing at the right time and place 😉
    My mother 91 years old has always said we are always in the right place at the right time... we are Heinz 57 each one of us came here as volunteers a little bit of everything. My mother is still guiding people in the nursing home she chose to be in... an amazing 1931 model.🌹♍♉♐
    She is one of the wisest humans I know that I never got along with until much later in LIFE but really get now what I thought she was crazy in the 70s.
    Now I super appreciate her for preparing me for....
    She would love your vibe💚💚💚😁😎😉

    Thanks Adam, this is so helpful. I’ve noticed lately how when looking at charts I’ve had the tendency to go to worst case scenarios. So I’ve been trying to be intentional with understanding what that means for my own experience of safety, trust, etc. while also wanting to rewire my relationship to the astrological weather. You’ve laid out some really helpful advice 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

    Hey Adam, thank you for this, I really needed it. I've been studying Astro for a while now (on and off) and I have come to a bit of a stand point with it. Its not that I'm not enjoying it, it's just that I seem to have walked into every single bad transit there has been! I would love to do it as a career sometime. It's just that the more I know, the more I realise I don't know, then I feel overwhelmed and lose confidence. I probably do know more than I give myself credit for, (like all Astrologers say at the beginning of their studies, and I have give a few readings so maybe next year if I can, I will do one of your courses. 🤞 This is my news, lol, I watch your videos as often as I can, and I'm always interested in whatever it is you have to say. I also love it when you and Ashley do videos together too!
    Great content Adam, as always. I am so greatful. I can't afford to gift you anything right now but my prayers are with you. 🙏🙏🙏 Well done with your new Herb garden, fantastic news, I'm really happy for you and your family! 🌻😎🌟

    I've had to really narrow down the classes I take and content i follow lately, there's just not enough time.
    I also usually look at my chart or families charts during or after the transits, if I feel something or had something occur as a way to find an explanation and meaning in the situation. I've found that I can really psyche myself out especially with all my Scorpio if I look ahead.

    When I first started learning to do readings and was offering free chart reads, the people that said, "I don't know, I'm just here to see what it's about..." were the worst. Such an energy drain.

    • @PeachyKins
      @PeachyKins ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's some psychology behind that (obviously, I understand getting practice by offering free readings) When ppl get something for free they don't value it...because its free. Are you still doing this? I want to try offering tarot/astrology and am afraid of this exact experience you described. In my experience offering stylist services, the consultation is the foundation. Ppl pretend to be open to anything, and it taught me to suggest something really radical (to save time and energy) bc without fail, they immediately were able to decline AND define what they wanted.

    • @PeachyKins
      @PeachyKins ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's like they just enjoy listening to someone waffling around about them. No. I ain't got time/energy for that...

    • @PeachyKins
      @PeachyKins ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OR in the case of astrology (and tarot) they might be skeptics. So they want proof... I'm planning to make a TH-cam channel just to answer all the basic questions before I start offering services. (This is me, this is why I do what it do, etc.) I'm not here to convince anyone. Either you want a reading FOR A SPECIFIC REASON, or I'm out.

    • @KarinMYearwood
      @KarinMYearwood ปีที่แล้ว

      @love and light no, I don't do it anymore. It was short-lived. But I had made a whole sales page describing what it was, purpose, what to expect, my training, a little about me, etc etc. I already had my website put up, so it was pretty easy and clear to find out more about me. Plus, I was able to capture emails for my list. I synced the landing page with my mail chimp account.
      Then, I set up an automation that sent out a thank you email 24hr after the reading, which included an opportunity to send a donation to my PayPal account if they were satisfied. I did make about $500. So it was worth it, I just more enjoyed reading for the people who had specific goals, inquiries, or situations they wanted clarity on.
      Hope that helps 😉

      @thehoehub how much is enough or too much can be so different from person to person! It's good to pay attention to that if it's feeling too much for you! 5x weekly for me is a really fun/nice rhythm that I set for myself based on what I prefer!
