    Road noise is no issue for me. That's what the ELS 16 speaker system is for.

    I have the TLX type s. I get 11 mpg… 11. At least it’s double digits I suppose 🙄 I floored it once and I visually saw the gas gauge going down.

    @7:02 Honda/Acura should’ve added a 7th gear to make it a truly nice highway yacht. That tall gear would’ve allowed the engine to relax at around 2,100RPMs… netting at lease 35MPG highway.

    • @MoneyShift
      @MoneyShift  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would’ve LOVED that.
      A taller gear and a larger gas tank and this car would be damn near perfect

    • @MrSamPhoenix
      @MrSamPhoenix ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MoneyShift Indeed! & I hope they update their manual transmission design for a 7th gear someday. Hell, I would really love for them to install their super nice 8-Speed dual clutch auto or 10-Speed auto. I’m guessing sales and demand will motivate them.

      I wish you nothing but luck ATL Camden, just remember, this will be around for a bit. So even if you can't get one at 18, when you can it will be worth it.

    I drive mine in Comfort on the highway at 70mph on flat Florida highway. About a 20mile highway commute each way. I have seen as high as 31.5mpg cruising at that speed. I did another commute on a different road with speed limits between 45 and 55 mph with minimal lights and I was close to 35mpg in Comfort, cruising.
    In Comfort, the exhaust is fully closed and is much quieter since no additional "exhaust sound" is being piped in through the audio. The tires truly are the loudest part of this vehicle. Mine are also slightly over inflated because I'm waiting to do something before swapping the air for Nitro (I work at Acura and it's free for me).

      @RobertoMezquiaJr "I drive mine in Comfort on the highway at 70mph on flat Florida highway. About a 20mile highway commute each way." Same here. But I have always gotten between 24-25 mpg, driven conservatively. The car has never really reached 26 mpg that I recall. (tires inflated to spec)

    Thanks for the video! Crazy you saw another one on the freeway! Out in LA, I still haven't seen any on the road and the dealers are still holding the demo cars until July 19 I believe. I rented an aspec manual this weekend to check out the car and got around 34mpg over 600 miles. Vegas trip with mix of freeway cruising, traffic, and city driving. Amazing that with such a huge power boost, mpg is only down ever so slightly!

    • @MoneyShift

      Hoping to get an A-Spec comparo in the coming weeks, and hopefully that helps put things into perspective for ya.

  • @raisedhaze
    @raisedhaze ปีที่แล้ว +6

    It would be nice to know the MPG at 55 & 65 mph for the hipermilers out there. My commute is weird and sits between 60-65mph for a 40 mile stretch which generally shatters the EPA estimates in cars. I frequently get over 40mpg in my 2015 SI.

    • @MoneyShift
      @MoneyShift  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The good news, to your point RaisedHaze, you will likely get better than what I got in this video! That said, at some point, Ill try to revisit with that MPH!

    A car should have a gas tank for at least 400 miles minimum. That puts you at about 6hrs of highway cruising. Anything less is not good for road trips

  • @scrutch666
    @scrutch666 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    All what are you described as bad on highway is the reason why people like me want to buy such cars like the type s or type r. The gear ratio is awesome for canyon driving plus a isolated cabin would take away from experiencing the exhaust or engine sounds. Also the tires are known to be very loud

    • @MoneyShift
      @MoneyShift  ปีที่แล้ว

      And Scrutch, it is the reason why I bought the car as well!
      That said, in my view, I wish Acura pushed the envelope just that LITTTTTTTTLLLLEEE more when it comes to making the Integra that next level from the Type R.

    • @scrutch666
      @scrutch666 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MoneyShift I understand but for those who are confronted with higher mark ups on the type r can see in this a real alternative. On track its as fast as the type r as test’s already proven. It understeers a little bit more due the softer suspension but that are things that can be fixed plus it sounds awesome . I must say when i seen the type s in person first time i said immediately that it looks better than the type r but overtime i must say the civic grows on me because its such a clean design with simple nice lines like my s2k. Im so split between this two cars even though i dropped deposit on the type s but i start to think i might like the more aggressive drive characteristics of the the type r .

    Ill stick to my camry with theoretical 616 miles. I can go 550 mile with 1.5 gal left when i dont drive like a maniac. Usually 36 - 39. Over 40 is possible ive seen 47 mpg on my dash but once. Thats when i really try to go the eco way.
    But i still Usually fill up at around 450 miles
