Would it be dangerous for me to cross over to Tijuana? I would like just to cross it and go to the vendors then cross back to the United States. If I wanted to live in Mexico after I retire, how much would it cost for a permanent visa if after ten years I wanted to apply for dual citizenship?
I don’t think it’s dangerous to cross over, just use common sense!
Hi I’m going on a Wednesday planning on crossing at around 6:30 am and crossing back at around 9pm are these times normally crowded on a Wednesday ?
You should be fine both ways, just google “border wait times” and you can check the CBP site for wait times

Been 20 years since I used that crossing. Lots has changed. McDonald's is still there though. .I don't remember having to pass by border patrol and ask for tourist visa.

What happens if you don't have a passport
Any USA citizen can come into USA just with there us state id card they will ask you lots of questions where you born in USA.
USA citizens can not be deny entry to USA period you are born here.

are there ubers or taxis once u cross?
Would you consider walking into TJ the way you did very safe? I did not see a single officer along the long pathway besides the passport control point. Also, the spot where you cross the street at the end of the video showed some sketchy guys just sitting around in front of the food shop. What's your opinion for older people crossing by ourselves with a relatively large suitcase? Thanks a lot for any input
I would consider it safe, all those guys are mostly taxi drivers trying to get your business. Anything past that street starts to get a bit sketchy for walking. As long as you grab a cab and know where you’re going you should be safe
That’s alot of walking, used to be soo easy to walk right over, just take a few minutes.

1. is it the same path going back to u.s?
2. Lets say i was in the strip club in tijuana then i request uber going back to the pharmacy in the last video, what address is that pharmacy so i can go back to u.s
It’s a slightly different path, but just tell the taxi driver to take you to the border....I don’t know the address to the pharmacy

I heard that lately, CBP would stop you (walking) before you exit to México and search your belongings Is it true? I lived in Tijuana for a good number of years, but my last time there was in 1999 and back then, you would purchase many goods in San Ysidro and come back to Tijuana with no worries.
I haven’t heard that but I know they do it from time to time

Most take cards! I always do cash just in case. Enjoy and be safe

Aaden Daniels yes it’s safe, well lit. Just make sure you know where you’re heading once you get to the other side

What do you normally say when they ask you why you’re coming to Mexico for?
They usually just ask where and for how long, I say Tijuana for the day
It’s when you go back into the USA that they ask why you were in Tijuana, which I say day trip

I use Uber, when you cross you still have USA service so it shouldn’t be a problem. Also the taxis are too unpredictable with their prices, they fluctuate a lot and think because you’re American you’ll pay $10 for a 5 minute ride

Taxi ride prices are negotiated before you get in. Usually 5-6 dollars if you're going into downtown TJ or vicinity.
Do they just visually inspect the passport? Or do they scan it in some way? I have a legit passport, but got a letter from the passport agency saying they accidentally gave me a duplicate passport number, and I never exchanged it out. And I need to travel to Mexico soon. I've never been there.

Coming from Ireland and the UK and being used to the Common Travel Area, but also being used to Schengen across much of the European continent this is so interesting. So different to a European context

vchavez2314 I believe so, worst case scenario they would move you to the USA line

Miz Money I’ve used it up to 3 days...I believe it’s $18/day on weekdays, $24/day on weekends.....$7/8 hours

Is this the closest to the airport would you recommend the other entrance?
For tijuana airport, I’d just use the cross border xpress bridge, which crosses right into the airport
This may seem like an odd question, but I just wanted to ask if you know if it is possible to simply walk TO the big “MEXICO” sign without actually crossing and then turn around and walk back? It just seems like a fun thing to do.

The Medical people in Mexico spend their money on new equipment, so pay no attention to what the outside looks like! Most Dentist there are trained in U.S.. and more attentive to you!

@Jalisco Boii.....No, they don't check you....just walk right in, nobody cares. Yes, it's only for Americans, nobody else can enter Mexico. If you ask dumb questions, you're gonna get dumb answers.
Yes they check you and your passport. If you have a bag you will have to run it through the X-ray security machine. Everyone foreigner gets stopped
Do they stamp your passport?
If you’re going to Mexico, the us customs could care less and if you’re coming back to the us, the Mexican customs could care less

When walking into this border, they check your bag and also randomly stop certain people to check them. They don’t check everyone

I only crossed with an id once. They told me they'd let me through this time, but next time they wouldn't if I didn't have my passport
