  • Donegal's latest musical super group Onoir with a fantastic version of the The Green Fields of France 25/03/2023 Marty's Party. 🎙️🔥
    Singer-songwriter Eric Bogle said he wrote The Green Fields of France as a response to the anti-Irish sentiment in Britain during the IRA bombing campaign of the 1970s. Bogle revealed he chose the name “Willie McBride” for the 19-year-old who features in the song because of its “Irish connotations”.

    Excellent song that every war-monger should be forced to listen to. And if they say "This time is different from World War 1.", I'd like them to explain why.

    A cleft palate was the only thing that prevented my Grandfather from being sent to the trenches with the rest of his regiment. But for that I would not exist.
