    when do you plan to have the other topic 8 videos up? you're the only teacher that makes it so simple

    • @MissEstruchBiology
      @MissEstruchBiology  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I should have the topic 8 epigenetics video uploaded by tomorrow.
      I'm hoping to have the in vivo cloning videos up from Monday.
      Sorry for the delay, I have been ill with no voice since Tuesday, so have been unable to record any audio for the videos!
      Really please that you find the videos easy to follow :)

      Gene technology is a challenging topic and many students have to spend time to fully understand it, so you are definitely not thick!

    Anyone who says this makes sense clearly didn't understand what was being taught or the lack of it . We are trying to isolate a particular gene and excluding the missing fact that the mRna needs to be removed from the cdna before dna polyermerase can be used the reform the required gene. There seems to be absolutely zero explination on how he endonucleause is isolating the required gene . We're in a first world country and the teaching seems soo poor came here to since the Oxford textbook is horrid but my understanding hasn't changed after watching this

    • @MissEstruchBiology
      @MissEstruchBiology  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      This is the level of detail required for A-level. Anything beyond that would be university standard

    • @abz7800
      @abz7800 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MissEstruchBiology I figured it out by looking at some diagrams now . The endonuclease can be used twice at both ends of the required gene to seperate it from the longer dna strand . Also we do actually need to know that the mRNA and cDNA need to be seperated otherwise it doesn’t make sense how is DNA polyermerase used to reform the gene when it only works by recombining adjacent dna nucleotide strands , it’s also mentioned in the textbook that’s where I learnt it .

    • @porcupineou
      @porcupineou 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@abz7800maybe youre using a different example board because the detail included in the video is quite literally the level needed for AQA a level, anything else is extra learning and not strictly required, check the exam board of your book, because the AQA biology books and revision guides include this amount of detail, and other things youve mentioned like it working on both ends to separate it from the dna strand can honestly be assumed using common sense, her video is alright and if its worked for everyone else its because its good

      @@abz7800Don’t always go off them textbooks they aren’t always accurate. Look at the spec that’s the important stuff. Other places say the mRNA is destroyed “by an enzyme” such as uplearn, but don’t name it as we do not need to know this enzyme at a level. They only do this to make sense. We don’t need to know that. We need to know what miss said here though. She’s said all relevant information you need, it might not make sense but sometimes although stuff doesn’t make sense to you, just have to memorise it!

    • @riihanna510
      @riihanna510 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      uplearn explains the mRNA thing, basically an additional enzyme destroys the original mRNA, but it’s not on spec
