  • This after the change of the switch setting in the Port Settings for the Sport mode. Sport mode now works. The power is now there to bring the front end up.

    Another great build Don. I wanted to get your opinion on using 4680 cells for any upcoming battery pack projects? Can you use these cells with a 72 volt architecture? Thanks.

      @dcoxryton  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't used the 4680 cells, but my experience with LiPo4 cells is that they don't give the long enough run as the Lithium Ion cells. I get more range from the Molicel P42a cells. Plus I can achieve the Amps I require for less weight. You can make any size battery, like 24S LiPo4 cells will give you 72V, 16S is 48V etc.

    One cuestión, if you spend less money than you would on a gasoline one ?

      Emmaual, you haven't ridden an electric dirt bike, have you? We take mostly retired dirt bikes, like 2014 YZ250F and 2005 Honda CRF450, and 2023 CRF250 bike and convert them to electric power. It is a different power, and feel. I put an electric bike back on the track with electric and it puts smiles on peoples faces. They just add another element to the dirt bike riding experience

      We plan on getting on a dyno first part of the year. I’m drawing 400a at 72v. Which should be isbout 35hp

    hello sir, i want to build a dirt bike, can the qs138 70h use a 55Ah battery? and what controller should I use?

    • @dcoxryton
      @dcoxryton  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes that will work . Order this from ElectroandCompany.com, and you will love it. For a full size electric dirt bike get the QS138 70H V3 motor, EM260S Controller, and the battery depends on what bike frame you use, they all kind of have to be custom made to fit the shape of the frame. The kits from E&C.com come plug and play. The ones from China need a lot to complete them.

    Love your builds, have you ever considered using the NMC Pouch Cell's will give you more ah per cell and higher discharge.

    • @dcoxryton
      @dcoxryton  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have only once tried Pouch cells. I have been using the 21700 cells now for a few years, and they perform quite well, and I am familiar with them. I don't see a lot of people like the Surron and Talaria Hi performance batteries, using the pouches. But mostly the 21700 cells. I can get a real 500A out a 20S12P and it will run a Amateur Moto, 6 laps like at Glen Helen, on about 50% battery. The complete bike weighs 240lbs. We also waterjet fuses for each cell built into the bus bar system.

      @@dcoxryton fair points thanks, Id be keen to see these water jet cut fuses also what size battery would you recommend for single track 40km loops

      @@nu77byte49 If you go to ElectricDirtRiders.com and start a conversation with me, I can post some pics of our battery builds. You can't post pics on here. I just did a 21mile single track ride, and I think I had another 5 miles of battery. That is with a 20S12P Molicel P42A cells. I built a 2017 KTM with a 20S16P Molicel P42A cells, and he has gotten 40 miles out of that on single track.

      mid 60's, I don't have a speedo on it, I have one on my phone, but haven't grabbed this ones speed yet, but if you want to calculate, 100/100 19" rear wheel, 50 tooth rear sprocket, 13 front sprocket, 2.38 gear reduction, 6800rpm free motor spin in Sport mode.
