This was complete refresh detail with dry ice cleaning.
Dry ice blasting is a non-abrasive method of safely cleaning surfaces and/or removing unwanted coatings.

Very satisfying to watch a craftsman restoring a car from back when Mercedes built them to last forever. Gives me great confidence and watching this I may just go back to older cars because the new ones are so boring by comparison.
The dry ice cleaning is truly astonishing.

My 1997 e320 is still going strong at 260,000 miles. Its amazing how long something built right will last.
Think you could be right on that. I've been suffering a new one. All I can say is seriously not happy.. Litter box.
And there are still people out there that dont understand why anyone with half a brain would pay the price you do for a Mercedes of great quality over any of the competing cheaper models
These old luxury cars are so taken for granted now because no one has seen them in their new age digs. Way to keep this beast on its heels!

Our 450SL didn't look like this in the 80s. Wow, didn't quite leave the dealership this nice and they still cared about paint quality back then.

This video, and car is incredible - fantastic work! Your camera work, editing and lighting - and the quality of your detailing is sublime. I have a 2015 SL550 (r231) that is nearly the same color-combo (Designo Graphite Metallic & Red Interior) - like its younger sibling.

Own a 73 450sl that is in as good of shape as the one in the video. Wish there was a high quality detailer such as these guys in my area. The old 450 would definitely be visiting them. Great job!

I really liked how this video shows how the undercarriage is not in perfect condition after cleaning, but showing it's age. It is however, perfectly clean. You set the bar for other detailers incredibly high, Jakub. Your work is on another level. Always a pleasure to watch.

Really little amount of conservation, I guess you don’t need more in Californian weather... Here in Germany, we would use 1-2 layers of undercarriage paint and 1-2 layers of wax or chain oil in all holes, because otherwise this car would be rotten away in no time.
@@kampfmeersau exactly, he basically stripped bottom of its protection. In Europe one winter on salty roads and sheet metal is Done.

Agreed on the American bumper import tax same with the 240z cars my friend has both interesting the first year they imported the Sl classic his was designated a SL 350 and that’s the only one I’ve seen it’s identical to the 450 of 1973 or 74 ? I’m not sure exactly , would like to learn more on this car just not a lot out there ?
Mercedes did a better job with the bumpers than most.

Der sieht ja mal mega geil aus, das grau mit dem Chrom. Ich glaub bei uns findet man so einen tollen Zustand nicht mehr, da sind die meisten vom Rost zerfressen. Mach weiter so, Daumen hoch!

I have an early '73 450. Small bumpers, no cats, battery in front. Most beautiful car I've ever had or seen. That being said, it's an old repaint of the gold & it doesn't match the stock hard top or hubcaps...that's ok, I got it stupid cheap. Did some stuff, got it running & driving...Whoo Who! But the paint...omg, I sanded the clear coat, buffed the poo outta it. Oh yea! A beautifully shiny car from 10 ft. But, upon close inspection. Micro cracks in the color coat...errgh!
