A nice car when you started - a piece of art when you finished it! A word for a hero who gets never mentioned 🤣😉I've been working in industrial purchase departments for a long time - my full respect for the guy/girl who managed to buy all the spare parts needed for this incredible job. I mean, this car was not produced in big numbers and spare parts for it do not come out of a catalog, right? Respect!
What I love about Mercedes is no matter what Mercedes you have or how old it is when you need a part all you have to do is ask them to make it pay them for it and you have a Mercedes genuine part they’ll even install it for you if you want
@@arilinner9078Does it really matter I’ve done everything to keep my old Corolla looking brand new is it financially smart hell no its not but I like my car so to me money doesn’t matter
It makes such a difference! Even just a nice cleaning and paint correction is satisfying, but when you go in and replace the parts of the car to this depth, it feels like a whole new car!
Truly phenomenal work. I am morbidly curious what a job like this would cost though. Looks like it would be worth every penny! You guys are straight up artists.
Once again thank you for putting the time frame of the detail in the description. It really helps put in perspective how much time and effort it takes to make these cars look perfect again.
Your insane attention to detail...together with your passion and dedication in bringing these beautiful cars back to life is just incredible. Fantastic work.
PS: I hope your business is doing well - this is fantastic work and a gift to the classic car world. I should know - my old friend was one of the great classic car restorers in CA, and I now drive the great grandson of this car (with that same classic grille) the AMG S63 Cabriolet (2017, before the facelift to the Panamericana grille). Thanks, and rock on.
I’m sure someone has already asked this but why do you remove all the under coating. Unless the car will never see the road again doesn’t that leave it vulnerable to corrosive environments? Thanks and love the videos.
I have never seen anything like this before! Pretty incredible. You could potentially argue that doing this takes away the natural patina of aging. Still very special indeed! Love to know how much this project cost in terms of parts and labour.
Nice to see someone having this done on a “higher” mileage R107. 120k miles and receiving thousands of dollars worth of love, more than many 30k mile examples that are worth 4x more than this one that roll through this detail bay. Nice to see more and more R107s getting treated the way they should be by their owners, regardless of its a $70k or $25k example. I have to say tho after all the work this is easily a $30k+ car.
I remember picking up a silver 560 in 1988. Brought From memories, externally this seems even nicer - I think it may be a later model though. No matter what, this was a spectacular job!
Really nice job, especially regarding the balance between refreshment & keeping the originality intact. However, the dry-ice cleaning has removed the underbody coating (which I believe would have been Brown Dinitrol) & you should have replaced it given the susceptibility of the R107 to serious rust issues.
Thanks buddy! Yes, we have several options when it comes to replacing the undercoating on these classics. We are always applying some level of rust protection, at minimum being a clear matte protective wax. We offer the option to the owners to also go for a nice modern waxoyl coating, or replace the cosmoline/etc with a new coat. We're in southern California, and these classics are almost always garage kept so fear of rust is relatively non-existent. Just depends on what the owner's plans for the car is
Extraordinary beauty!! No one ELSE makes cars this beautiful!!! And the work of this team is beyond fantastic!!! Extraordinary video!! Hugs from Brazil!!
I have the first gen r107 72 350 SL. I'm going to try to replicate exactly what you guys did. Granted the car was in great shape when you got it.. but it's now pristine.. awesome video!
LOVE the 560SL....my absolute favorite car! and love that you "refreshed" it - however only a mild criticism: should've kept the shifter and steering wheel original (I don't think the mahogany for those pieces is suitable). And loved that you put back the original wheels - don't think I would've chromed them. But.....as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Overall BEAUTIFUL job on Benz!!!!!!!

Brabus Classic in Bottrop has set up some huge workshops and warehouses for the restoration of Mercedes classics. The cars and the engines are completely dismantled down to the last screw and refurbished there. They manage 20 cars a year.
God bless you for this amazing job👍 The ones who painted this car without even removing the chrome parts should be ashamed... (If they took anything apart, then it was only to tamper with the mileage)
Superb work but did the owner not want to replace some of the chrome work as at the end it brought the final job done a little (as did the paintwork at the end of the video too) - also how much would a detail and restore like this cost?
Thanks Fernando! Happy that we got another good R107 for you! We use the same polishing compounds on the acrylic as we do on the paint - lately mostly Sonax, Rupes, and Koch
Excellent! I'll be one very happy owner if someone return my beauty in this condition and with such level of precision! This is something I personally want to do, but neither have the knowledge neither the market for it...

My dad had one back in the 80's in green when I was a child, the same time my mum had a Triumph TR6, what great times.
There really aren't a whole lot of cars that deserve such a detailing. But the 560SL is definitely one.
We agree, Dan :)
Is the $$$ worth it? Asking from ignorance

Great job, personally if I was in this deep financially, I'd of put in the extra 4-5k for European spec bumpers.
560’s never had Euro bumpers & lights, fitting them would ruin the originality
