- The Karkloof Valley sits in the heart of the KwaZulu Natal Midlands has to be one of South Africa's best mountain biking and gravel biking destinations!
Based out of the Karkloof Country Club, there any many riding options across all aspects of the sport from marathon trails all the way through to serious gravity trails. The accommodation options are endless and the setting is simply epic!
We could have easily spent two weeks up there exploring and we probably would not have worked our way through all of the trail options!
Based on the riding we have experienced in the valley so far, we highly recommend a trip out there but you will need more than a few days to really get the most out of the riding options available!
If you do ride in the area, be sure to pay your trail fee's at the Karkloof Country Club. Trail marshals do patrol the area and will fine you should you be riding without the necessary permits. The trails are on private lad after all! At just R70 for the day and R700 for an annual permit, its a real bargain!
