I prefer the z9 as i found it was more resistant to over heating also the extra weight made it slightly more stable for bare back run and gun video hybrid shooting. . In both cases i think the screens are just big enough to get away with not needing a monitor for video when you absolutely want to travel without a myriad of accesories. Z8 is a great choice also though as it’s lighter and easier to gimbal. Like you mentioned it’s a personal preference, I’ve always like the chunkier bodies and brick like nature with the bigger battery.

I just ordered the Z8. If I end up needing the extra battery space they make the grip/battery pack that will basically make it's size about the same as the Z9.

I went for the Z8, and some reasons why were, price, size, and ergonomics to name a few. My Z8 came in last Thursday so far I love it. Now though I'm not sure if the Z6II is a good B cam to the Z8.

Great comparison, thank you! Does the battery grip provide similar shot quantity performance to the Z9?

Funny when you add a battery grip to the z8 the total price is the same as the z9

These two cameras are really undersold and under-marketed. The amount of performance is insane for the money.

Would I be able to charge the Z8 to a v mount battery and also connect the ronin RS3 pros usbc to start / stop record on the ronin grip? That’s a disadvantage on the Z9 as there is only 1 usbc port but wondering if that set up would work with the Z8 ? Also the Z8 would be a little lighter on the gimbal

Hi, I am wondering if the resolution on the Z9 viewfinder with 9.4m dot be better to see or 3.7 m on the Z8? Which preview is more accurate and matches the final image process by the same sensor of 45.7mp? thank you

Great video! I like the smaller size of the Z8. The Z9 having the longer battery life is appealing. They both are powerful cameras. Leaning towards the Z8. I currently own a Z50 that I've been very happy with but I'm ready to make the leap to a professional level camera.

I chose the Z9 for the battery life and the heat dissipation. The Z8 was plagued with a few recalls in the beginning. Early reviews suggested overheating was a real issue. That all being said, it was a tough decision. I ended up purchasing the Z9 directly from Nikon as a refurbished unit. This saved me about $1500 off the price when new, placing it at about the same price as a new Z8. The Z9 is a bit heavier than I prefer but it is an amazing camera and harkens in a new era in Nikon cameras.

I have a Z6II and I love it. As a stills photographer, the Z8 appeals to me for the lighter weight. The battery power and other details sound amazing on the Z9 though.

Myself not being a professional, just an amateur who loves photography, I am thinking at the Z8 because its smaller size would make me carry it far easier.... Owning a DSLR camera that is somehow heavier and more cumbersome , there were many moments when I lost unexpected photo opportunities just because carrying a cumbersome camera was not that easy when not needing to carry one 😅 ... A lighter camera would be less difficult to have with me and I would just have it around more often 😄... The ease of use backed by solid performance, the best option for me

I am still collecting my pennies and might chop and sell some cheap cameras to fund the purchase of the Z8.
Its an exceptionally great camera for events and weddings.

He probándolas dos calaras, me gusta mas la Z9 por lo que dices del peso con un lente largo como el Z180-600, se siente mucho mas balanceada, y le doy mucha importancia a la batería,

Great Video >> still in a Quandry >> Z8 /Z9 >> I loved my D3s but also loved my D850. Wild Life photographer and my Z7 is great for Landscapes and Astro but too small balancing big lenses and Moving targets = Useless

I would go for a D850 over Z8, personally talked with z8 and d850 user who is a wildlife shooter like me, and found out mirrorless are still far behind in case of wildlife photography, specially where it back focuses and never wants to come back onto the subject and blinds you in low light condition with that tv like viewfinder & the battery draining and getting the IBIS damaged in transport to dificult locations to shoot wildlife due to jerking.

As a D850 owner for the past 5 years, you are on crack. Z8 is the way to go.

    • @brianglock3099
      @brianglock3099 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I still have my D850 but it only gets occasional use. It’s still a very good camera but the Z8 and Z9 are much better performer’s. When set up properly with the right lens the Z8 and Z9 lock and track focus better than the D850, which dose okay. But the Z’s are an improvement.,
The brightness level of the EVF is adjustable. When going from either the Z8 or Z9 to the D850, the D850 always looks darker through the optical viewfinder.
But if the D850 works best for you that’s what counts😊 Give the Z8 or Z9 an extended try though.

@@brianglock3099 Thank You for your wise reply, I am planning to buy new Nikon+Red body, untill that I am gonna purchase a D850 soon as it's lot cheaper than the mirrorless counterparts, only issue with a DSLR is the video dept, but till all these years people have used DSLR to capture video.

Hello, I want to buy Nikon Z8 & I want Lense that will cover me in any situation. In this couple of months Nikkon got new lenses, 2 of them are so fresh that one is not even on sale because it's not in stock.
But there is many to choose.
I want to buy lense that will stick with Me and My Z8 for years & cover me at weddings, parties, picture & record wild life (macro, Zooming), sport fast situations, city, concerts, low light situations, alot of light, full daylight sunny days situations.
What will be the very best for that?
Also, what kind of program for editing will cover all editing for photos & videos from it?
    Thanks for anserws :)
