Good complete video. Have been using since launch 9 PRO XL 512gb Hazel color. Traded in a Samsung S24 Ultra and best decision ever. The Pixel so smooth just does everything so well and Gemini once using it is amazing .
Nice one - bold move to trade in the S24 Ultra, as I've heard that's a super complete phone! However, I've had Samsungs in the past and I've definitely found I prefer Pixel OS over Samsung's OneUI, so I'm not surprised you are enjoying your experience with the Pixel 9 Pro XL! Thanks for the kind comment, and for sharing your experience! 😁
I think it depends on how you use it - it's definitely not as good as ChatGPT for creative idea generation etc. but I think it does fine for most of the things I ask it for!
I am in love with this phone. Went form Pixel 8 Pro to this one. (wanted smallest screen) Very good camera. Super smooth OS. just as good as my iPhone 15 Pro. This is Pixel at its best.
Glad you are enjoying the experience! I'm loving it too! It's a really complete phone compared to the 8 series! Cheers for the comment and for watching 😁
Thank you! I appreciate you continuing to come back and support my videos - it means a lot. Glad you've been enjoying the Pixel 9 too - it's been really solid for me so far!
I've been super impressed with the hardware thus far, battery life is excellent and it doesn't get nearly as warm as the previous 6 Pro I had. It does sort of feel like Google were messing around the last few years with how polished this model feels.
I agree - the hardware feels a lot more polished and complete this year, and I agree about the battery life and the thermal performance too! Cheers for the comment! 😁
It's weird that this year iPhone 16 will end up being cheaper than Pixel 9 in India. So, I might switch sides from Pixel after today's Apple Event, as Pixels still have features that stay in US. Anyways seems good improvement. BTW these monitors, they look interesting. Do you plan to do a desk tour video or something like that ? As a software engineer working from home myself, that would be very interesting to watch.
If that ends up being the case, then that does feel a bit strange - I agree! And I also agree about Google limiting a lot of the features to the U.S. which is disappointing for international users. Unfortunately both the monitors I use have now been discontinued 😅 so I'm not sure how useful a desk tour would be. I was planning on doing a video about my BenQ monitor about a year back as it's a really good monitor, but you can't buy it anywhere anymore, so I thought it wouldn't be very useful to anyone! Thanks for the suggestion though 😁
Good point about 128GB being quite limited. However, I found it was enough for me on my Pixel 8. I had Google's cheapest 100GB Google One plan and it worked well enough for me to back up my photos. However, I'm fairly sure I take a below average amount of photos compared to most people, so you could be right, and depends a lot on the user!
Best Video I have seen on Pixel 9 so far! Thanks for including video samples shot indoors & compared to your main camera! Can you Compare Cameras/video of 9 VS some Older Pixels? Maybe like 6, 6a or 7
Thank you for the kind comments - yeah, I find it's useful to see the kind of results you can get from the cameras! I don't have any of the phones you mentioned I'm afraid, but I am planning on creating a video comparing the 9 to the much cheaper 8a, so hopefully that will be something you're interested in!
New pixel user here from Samsung s23. The only gripe so far after a couple of days is the hotspot range. My tab loses connectivity in places where previous phones never had a problem.
That's interesting - it's not something I've tested out (going any sort of distance away from my phone while I'm hotspotting), but thanks for the feedback - that's interesting to add to the conversation!
@@arranpbrown A bit of a surprise. I thought hotspot was a given. Had a choice between s24+, Xiaomi 14T pro and Pixel 9. I hope I didn't make a wrong decision.
@airypotty yeah, takes a while to get used to a new phone, especially if you've come from Samsung where your muscle memory for buttons on the phone and parts of the operating system will have you pressing the wrong thing from time to time! Also looking forward to Android 15!
subscribed too, I need to find grown up conversation about phones rather than benchmarks and camera shots that 99% can't or won't use in the real world.
I got a Pixel 8a and I love the software, I also have a S24 Ultra and I'm strongly considering taking it back and getting a return, Pixel as a "Phone" is great. Now I need to see the Pixel watch 3
Nice one! Yes, I agree, Pixel OS is so nice to use. I still think the Pixel Watch is pretty expensive for what it is - I wish they would make a cheaper version equivalent to the Apple Watch SE!
I'm afraid I don't have access to the XL or Fold, but it doesn't get warm in normal use, only when you are using it for heavy tasks like gaming or using the camera for extended periods!
Ok i got a great deal then, got the pixel 9 256GB for 629 on Google fi.. Always loved the smoothness of the UI and the already great features without AI..
I agree! I think they will end up building it into Photos as a feature in the future, but I honestly think they made it its own app at the moment as a simple differentiator between the 9 and 8 series... Thanks for continuing to show up on these videos - I appreciate you!
Here in India pixle 9 starts from ₹80k(1000$) but it is 256gb..128 not available here..compared to pixle 8 last year it was same price but of 128gb only...so it has become cheaper since it is Made in India(only non pro)... where as pixle 9 pro XL is around ₹125k( nearly 1500-1600$)...9 pro not launched maybe in nov..it will me most probably around ₹100k(1250$)...so yeah it is pretty expensive...compared to competition..but it will probably go down in Sales...maybe 100 $ on nonpro..around 150-200$ on pro model...but sales would have definitely increase if the could price it at 800$ insted of 1000$.. let's see how it performs...but i think it will definitely perform better than last year..pixle 8 sales..but it will be more on non pro model.. because after all discount and trade off bonous...it is more value for money than 9pro or XL..they are literally rip off.. Well thanks for the review...will get pixle 9 in Diwali Sales Soon...
Thanks for the insight - interesting to hear the difference in India and what you've said makes sense. Sounds like the prices are pretty crazy over there considering the prices elsewhere. Hopefully you can get it on a good deal in the Diwali sales as you said! Thanks for watching! 😁
I'd recommend you watch my other video on using the Pixel 8 for TH-cam/video: th-cam.com/video/tFWFm6ktxkQ/w-d-xo.html. The camera is good and the phone tends to work well for multitasking, so I hope you enjoy it 🙂
I'm waiting on my pixel 9( porcelain 256GB) I got from Google fi for 649.. gonna sell my s24+, i prefer the smoothness of the pixel UI over the snappy ONE UI and Samsung is terrible with updates
Yeah, it's really not! Hopefully it goes down below $700 soon and then I think it's worth considering! It should be going down in price during the Black Friday sales, so probably best to wait until then!
Thanks for adding to the conversation - that's good to know. I have found it to be grippy, and I tend to have fairly dry hands too, but I guess it will be different for everyone! I deliberately didn't go for the Porcelain case as I was worried it would get discoloured over time - interested to see if that happens or not, but hopefully not! Thanks for the comment!
It does get fairly warm after a fairly short period of time, but like I said in the video, I've played for over an hour and it hasn't overheated on me. So I don't know if that's a huge issue. If you're gaming every day, then it could be an issue for the longevity of the chip and battery to be fair, but I'm more of a casual mobile gamer. Hope this helps!
Wondering if I should go for the pro for the vapor chamber. It's the only additional feature I could see myself wanting but I do play casual games 30 or so minutes a few days a week
@awesam303 if you're just playing fairly casually for 30 mins then I don't think it's necessary to get the Pro to be fair. But it also depends if you live in a place with a fairly warm climate as it may be more prone to overheating in that environment. Hope this helps!
Bit of a silly question, but have you tried restarting the phone? I think I've seen that glitch a couple of times, but it's always fixed itself for me after closing the app fully and opening it again!
To be fair, it's exactly the same dimensions as the Pro in terms of the body size, so I'm not surprised it's the same weight. I've also not found it to be 'heavy' - I think it feels solid and premium, which is good in my opinion. Cheers for the comment!

Is India price already leaked? It was 76k for 128gb last year...how can iPhone be cheaper this year?
Pls don't get a 128 GB phone in 2024. Apps are getting bigger, image quality improving every day.
