this is genius, honestly. i really got bored of GAMMA, it felt like a majority of my time was spent mindlessly grinding, trying to get the best gear possible through trial and error, praying that NPCs dropped the barrels or components or whatever that i needed, rather than actual engaging with the environment or NPCs. i’m for sure going to try this mod, thank you for making this video! i was stumped as to what i could find in terms of free play, and this really is perfect.
Anomaly/GAMMA suck. They are the lowest level of Stalker modding. Super simplistic, they don't do anything remotely new they just copy the milsim crap from other games and that's it. I'm telling you check out this, Global War (just did a video about that one...30 new factions and LOADS of new maps), Lost Alpha, OP 2, whatever. So much better mods.
@@BrokenCircle1 they really do suck. boring, repetitive, annoying ass crafting mechanics, boring ass quests, they don’t really have any charm or even feel like stalker at all. the mod in your latest video does look interesting, so once i’ve finished my second playthrough of soc i’ll definitely check out Global War, thank you!
IWP and Blintorez / Moonshroom gave Call of The Zone the engine it deserves. CoTZ may finally get the attention it has always been due. I think Doc would have been delighted. I am a happy bunny.
Thanks for watching. Love to see you here. That CoTZ repack you did was also cool just had performance issues and crashing because well...CoTZ is like that. Ever consider porting those weird bug things to IWP? :D
@@BrokenCircle1 People sure love those things, I don't know why! It's like the first request I usually get. There will be things ported to IWP, there's quite a few things I can do now that I could not do in the CoTZ engine. You'll just have to wait and see!
It's nice to see people still want what I'd consider more of a "proper" STALKER experience. A lot of people are going to get STALKER 2 thinking it's going to be a prettier Anomaly... those people are going to be very disappointed.
@@geddybear9108 I cannot stand the Anomaly crowd at this point, they went from worshipping an overhyped mod to hating and insulting anyone who disagrees with them and demanding S2 be made for them all whilst insisting anything Stalker themed is somehow Stalker. New video coming on another mod tomorrow, another more class themed one.
@BrokenCircle1 I've only just found your content, this was the first video I'd seen. Yeah the Anomaly crowd are a bit too aggressive about where the STALKER franchise should go imo, especially when you consider the majority of them haven't actually played the originals. I tend to temper my expectations of games in recent memory, but damn does STALKER 2 make that difficult. Everything I've seen is ticking all the right boxes, if it releases in a polished state and is as loyal to the franchise as it appears to be, something special is definitely on the horizon. Looking forward to the new mod video when it's up.
@@BrokenCircle1 I mean you can dislike what Anomaly is about, but you're capping by saying it's overhyped. There's a reason why people love it. I can only speak for myself and others I've directly had a conversation with about it, but without Anomaly I never would've played and complete the original games.
@@Goaheadandstaymad21332 Most of the stuff Anomaly includes doesn't add much of value that isn't just catering to the hardcore survival players. Also, most people that play Anomaly don't like the original games, saying those are the ones that are overhyped. So you're actually the exception in that regard.
@@dardanik I’ve only really played anomaly, and loved it. I for one am hoping GSC keeps stalker 2 true to its roots however. I want to experience stalker as it is intended. After all with mod support and all the hype around anomaly and GAMMA, I’m sure it won’t be long before an “anomaly 2” mod pack is created anyways. Everyone wins.
Honestly the best part about CoC IWP is the fact that it’s only 20GB lol, anomaly mod packs/gamma are all 70 GB+ so I had to keep uninstalling them to make space on my laptop’ SSD so the small size certainly complements the amazing gameplay it has too! (It also doesn’t run horrendously bad)
i was stuck for years replaying Soc or Cop with mods and switched to Anomaly but man........i tried atleast 5 times to make "my perfect stalker" and failed miserably and this last month reinstalled CoC with some mods after 5 years and youtube recomended this nice!!!!
I saw your video pop up in my feed and I was quite intrigued by the title, when we take into account that we've both had the same issues with Anomaly and G.A.M.M.A I downloaded I.W.P and gave it a try a few hours ago and holy shit, I am amazed. It fixed everything! The game runs smoothly without any stuttering and freezes that were common even in the vanilla games, the graphics are simple and there are no 700 shaders that turn it into an eye candy garbage that tends to make things hard to see. It's actually easy to spot enemies and distinguish them at longer distances. The PIP scope actually works and no longer cuts your frames in half, making them a viable tool at longer engagements. The guns actually behave like they should, NPS's no longer tank bullets and react when you take a well aimed shot at them. It takes one shot to the head to get the job done and I am glad that there is no artificial difficulty applied to combat. A shotgun is actually accurate at long range, which is a godsend especially in an early game when you are just starting out in Rookie Village. They fixed the biggest issue that I've had, which is mutants having homing attacks. I can actually dodge now and apply the muscle memory from the original trilogy. I managed to actually get some higher level gear at a reasonable condition and the quests are actually rewarding. Gone are the times of having 3000 different items in your inventory and having to micromanage your character every 5 minutes in case you get wounded. You fix your weapons at a technician, you pop a medkit and a bandage to heal your wounds and you are good to go. The items are reasonably priced, you don't need to spend 5 hours of grinding just to fix an old hunting shotgun like in G.A.M.M.A, you can just loot some guns off corpses and sell them for more ammo and a better gun. This is by far the most perfect mod that I've played over the past 12 years of being a stalker fan. It does not go into the bullshit territory where everything can fuck you up and it's not holding your hand. You actually know when and where you made a mistake and it gives you a chance to correct it. It's not trying to be Tarkov or something else, but takes the original formula and polishes it to perfection. I am glad that you managed to find something that suits you and I thank you for sharing this masterpiece of a mod with us.
Thank you for watching and I agree 100% with everything you said. Anomaly and it's offshoots are straight up BS and I don't understand how people like them. People insist everything is configurable but it really isn't, one of the biggest things that bugged me as you pointed out was the inventory management and lack of rewarding quests. That was one of the many things that killed it for me.
I've also always found Anomameme and other Misery offshoots to be obnoxious try-hard edgy pablum that does not represent Stalker. I will be checking this out based on your recomendation .
That may be what i wanted to play. I've been trying to find a perfect balance between the uncanny, liminal and mysterious sci-fi atmosphere of Oblivion Lost Remake - Vector of Alienation, which is very focus on story, but also a more "nightmarish" world, and a more fun and content-filled exploration in those places.
@@BardodeAstora Doesn't seem to be doing so but oh well. At least the people that did see this might get to check it out. I got another mod someone reccomended I plan toncheck out eventually but I got a few other videos to make first. Regardless thanks for watching.
@@BrokenCircle1 maybe try simplifying the thumbnail? This is the biggest part that make people click. I have a small little channel and the first 2 months of my stalker iceberg video where under 500 views or so. I changed to a more simple and colorful thumbnail for the vid and there was a view spike. Just a suggestion in good faith
Perhaps that might be looking into, I'm not sure. I've tried many different styles of thumbnail and I seemed to get inconclusive results lol. Just checked your channel out. You do have nice thumbnails. I am gonna have to look into how to make better ones myself.
Dear "Broken Circle", Thank you. You said exactly how a lot of STALKER fans feels about the hardcore and item bloated Anomaly\GAMMA games. Indeed, we, the more "casual" fans got left out of the 64bit party, but it finally seems to be happening. "Call of The Zone" is my favorite COC variant for STALKER, and it is a dream come true to see it on a 64bit engine. It seems the COTZ mod for IWP is getting frequent updates which is great, I hope to see it improve. For Anomaly, Old World Addon is indeed a godsend, it made it fun, but still not COTZ or COC.
Thanks for watching. I got a new Stalker mod video up. This one has alot of newer maps. Sorry for not replying sooner for some reason TH-cam never notified me of your comment.
I don't even mind if there were 5 weapons in the game, but the inventory simulator nanomanager in Anomaly killed me. What you found, I found in LostAlpha and STALKER LOST ALPHA: REVISTED + other addons. I write this everywhere, LostAlpha is the only game in 35 years of playing that has caused me health problems.
@@BrokenCircle1 In 35 years of playing horror games such as Silen Hill, Dead Space, F.E.A.R., I mention this because it had the biggest impact on me, I have never experienced a game causing me health problems - anxiety, headaches and nausea. Only LostAlpha has done this. It was because of the atmosphere in the game. I'm a big STALKER fan, even the 1979 movie is one of the best movies I've ever seen, but no STALKER game has done this. I also use STALKER Lost Alpha: Revisited for LA, it's a much better experience. I have to really try True Stalker too, because when I tried it, it was similar to LostAlpha.
True Stalker is amazing. LA Revisited is great. When I covered LA I played LA DC but I tried Revisited later on someones recommendation. Was not disappointed.
Brother I think you nailed it. I have been going back to stalker for years and am always disappointed with whatever new mod that's currently "in vogue" like Misery or Gamma. I ususally ended up modding CoC and was never happy with the crashes and performance. Sounds right up my alley, and I'm looking forward to it.
Have you ever played Legend Returns, a build-style mod based on Call Of Chernobyl? I personally find it enjoyable. It has several storylines (for Duty, Freedom, Stalkers, Clear Sky and even Sin). Though i'm not sure if there's an English translation.
@enolastraight4829 maybe once briefly. Perhaps I should ammend this title...'the best FREEPLAY Stalker mod' There is certainly a difference between freeplay and story mods.
My only complaint of Anomaly that if you don't change the economy to be more favorable, it can take hours upon hours to scrounge up ammo, food, a better armor, better weapon and so on, it just feels so... not rewarding after all the harshness that one go through, i managed to finish Anomaly right from the get go to the end game, Nosorog Exoskeleton, No.62 Gauss Rifle, PKP Pecheneg, high quantities of ammo, meds, food and drink, the best and most valuable artefacts, everything upgraded, i think all of that took me around between 300-500 hours, and all i felt by the end is just tiredness of the grind.
@@BrokenCircle1 It's more like balance issue, you barely get any Roubles after a mission, weapons and armor degrate way faster than they realisticly should, i had to pick apart every little corner to scavenge everything i can use or sell so i can keep going, it got tedious really fast... Anomaly can be very fun and sadly very frustrating or boring at sometimes, but i played the hell out of it anyways, it can't show me any new things anymore, and i don't like GAMMA or EFP, they are just way too tacticool for my taste, i prefered the game in the true Stalker weapons experience, very minimal amounts of attachments and or "raw", barebone weapons mostly.
Other way around for me tbh. I don't like Stalker EFP because it's too tarkov-ish, but GAMMA in the other hand has quite a good reward system, and fully repairing a weapon/armour feels so satisfying knowing you didn't get given it, unlike in this particular mod where everyone drops good loot. Not saying both are bad, but as a sandbox survival with potentially longer gameplay hours, GAMMA feels more rewarding imo.
Another good mod recommendation. IWP has hands down some of the best weapon animations I've seen in gaming. great sound design as well. Good video, thanks for the mod recommendations dude.
Also about CoTZ, sadly it have another issue, if you use Russian version of IWP it have broken text since it's English only, so I kinda skipped it, there was another adaptation of MLR 5 mafe by some dude in their discord, it's a mod which was incorporated into Anomaly and adds extra NPC camps like Butcher in Garbage level and some quest related stuff, and stalker camp with trader in DarkScape, also base IWP added in latest patches more repeating quests to various NPCs like Duty leader and so on, sadly they stated that they don't plan add much to quests though since they plan to keep this mod weapon only and left quests and story to other people to do. Also some dude making mod for IWP which adds True Stalker locations but not much known yet about it though he onlt shared video eith ported Cordon. Also speaking of IWP, they making new patch and will release it as standalone mod.
I tried IWP CotZ but it had lots of problems, often times i couldnt save at all unless I used a consumable first, my aim sensitivity seemed to change based on weapon etc. I loved the dynamic quests though. I still love Anomaly. Its just crazy how many of its features are so underdeveloped to the point where you need tons of addons to tweak things to your liking. I still feel that Anomaly's potential is the greatest out of all these projects, but the amount of work you need to do to get there is just insane.
@@BrokenCircle1 The latest version is so much better. Though I still have issues interacting with bonfires, so campfire saving is unfortunately a no go. I wonder if this is something caused by CotZ or if it's vanilla IWP behavior.
Dowloaded it, and man, its so good, best stalker mod i have played at the momment , i just have a question, where do i find the noble 6 armor lol, i got myself a nice merc exosuit and all, but feeling like a spartan would be badass man, if you can help a fellow stalker!
this the second video ive seen on this mod, gonna have to try it out for sure! there are also forks of anomaly you can try, one thats been worked on since 2018 i think adds tarkov style weapon modification to the game, you can strip your mosin down to just the chassis and totally swap it out for an aftermarket one, you may like that too. forget the name.
@@BrokenCircle1 The mod he's talking about is called "Desolation." To my knowledge it only modifies the weapons, not making the game hardcore like GAMMA.
This looks great! How does the gunplay of this (not just balance but animations) compare to ogsr gunslinger? I tried to find comparisons but im wondering if one is better or more consistent then the other.
This is a great video. Every few months i'll go through the process of downloading Gamma, not get very far at all progression wise and give up. This seems like a breeze of fresh air. I remember the first time I played Gamma I ended up stopping just to play through the original trilogy just to see how different it was and damnnnn was it different. I actually ended up enjoying it more though, I felt like I was actually in the world and honestly the crappy graphics added to the aesthetic. I've got to try this out man.
The graphics of the original are great except the guns look pretty crap. But yeah definitely try this one out. I hear its getting a standalone release soon.
I really wouldn't say it is the best one. It's up there for sure, but there are just far too many good flavors of mods and sandbox is just a very small of them. If you guys loved the trilogy here are some mods that in my opinion captured the mysterious feeling of the trilogy: Made by Jekan: Return to the Zone(3 story campaigns and a story extraction mode), Goldensphere OGSR(based on Roadside Picnic), OGSR Legacy(pretty much a remake of ShoC with lots of cut content and user made content). Team V.I.V.E.N.T.: Incubator, Dreamcatcher(sequel to Incubator). They have more great mods but they still are hard to understand Machine translations. zaurus' crew: Apocalipsis Trilogy OGSR, Fallen star(also called "Der gefallene Stern" sequel to A-Trilogy), Last STALKER(sequel to Fallen Star) Creators/teams I forgot the name of: True Stalker(if you don't mind cutscene glassjaw), Dollchan infinity, Road to the north(story/free play hybrid, main story starts at Skadovsk), Path in the Mist, Wind of Time(it starts with timetravel from the year 2114 back to 2014 and has some big twists) All of these are standalone and can be found on moddb and if it isn't there you can find reuploads in the c-consciousness community mod-spreadsheet
So this is CoC + IWP + CotZ? Very cool mix, will try it out. The emphasis on "Survival" and "Realism" in the Anomaly off-shoots is... well incredibly boring and unsatisfying to me. And if you tweak the settings to reduce the grind, the game just ceases to be fun at all. Big hopes for this pack, looks great.
Any ETA on when the repack would be released? I tried installing everything this morning and followed all the instructions but I'm getting a crash as soon as I try to load into a new game.
@BrokenCircle1 understandable actually. I really don't like base anomaly. I'm personally an EFP over Gamma person but EFP has its issues. Mainly stuttering. I get a little bit of that with CoC but it's nowhere near as awful as Anomaly and it's modpacks.
@@Neros_light Anomaly and GAMMA have ugly modern visuals and lighting GAMMA even has that boring repair thing IWP doesn't have Warfare mode Whats the difference between Call of Chernobyl and them
I love this mod and CoC. Ivbe been juggling between it and Anomaly. I mostly liked anomaly for its visuals and visual mods like the 3D PDA and FDDA and visible body mod but at the same time its very difficult and had a feeling i get when playing dark souls and such. That your unwelcome in this game world unless you get REALLY good. Where as CoC/IWP was the opposite. It let me explore the zone and is for all types of players being not too easy but not too hard. The best part is unlike Gamma and Anomaly it actually still feels like Stalker.
Hello Mr BrokenCircle. I was pulled into your video due to my curiosity with me disliking Anomaly due to a whole thing in regards to NOSOROG. And I tried the mod you suggested which sadly seems to have run into issues whenever I attempt to use it with weapon call ins being broken. Do you know any reason why it would do that?
@hamoodhabibi1579 No idea. Not sure what you mean by weapon call ins. Check the link in the description. It links to the C Con Discord which us all about Stalker mods. There are nice people there who can help you
One of best animations mods, what I like about IWP it's consistency paired with big variety, Anomaly/Gamma weapons have really big issues with that, some guns might have old and not good weapon models/anims, some are decent, some weapons use animations which simply not fit, like Gauss on AK animation from BaS for example, it feels like Gunslinger (this mod have some anims ported from it btw), without super detailed upgrade system but with good variety which Gunslinger don't have due being not finished yet, and nobody wants sadly add extra guns to Gunslinger due it having own custom hand models with own skeleton which forces animators either make new animations for Gunslinger only or rerig animations on these hands which again needs animation experience to do, as for Gunslinger in general it main advantage is also its drawback, Strifer is super perfectionist and as result despite being in development for a decade that mod is still not fully finished yet.
@DoctorBreenBB Like you said IWP has great variety still. I prefer the quality over quantity. Personally I can't stand Anomaly and it's offshoots for many reasons. I tried to like it for years but just...I wasted so much time on that mod.
@@BrokenCircle1 I agree that Anomaly have alot of artificial difficulty, after playing IWP I kinda lost mood to play Anomaly, considering how much tweaks it need to be playable, also I mostly skipped crafting since it have very convoluted craft recipes with hundreds of different parts, so I never crafted anything except detectors or night vision goggles since they at least have same crafting materials. Stalker mod makers love to add some unnecessary hardcore into it, and Anomaly isn't worst one, it mostly annoying, something like Secret Trails 2 or NLC6 is just pure CBT, last one had bingo, non optional campfire saves, 20kg weight limit, NPCs kills you in 2 hits, and modder favourite - disorienting and annoying screen effects when player takes damage with 360 camera spin. And author even did anti cheat thing in case if player edit files to make mod playable.
I hate the fact that in Anomaly artefacts are basically just a cash source and the only decent ones are way too rare to find, so it makes them just useless. They're hard to get and even use. One of my favorite things to do is hunt artefacts, so its a great thing I found this mod, gonna download it and play it today. Thanks for the recommendation man.
See, i while i love Anomoly and it's cool tweaked offshoots, i also don't prefer their large spoonfulls of hardcore gaming lol. I can't keep myself off of playing more than one game, lest i die of boredom, so playing something i need to invest tons of time to doesn't work for me. A mod like IWP is pretty much exactly up my alley, thank you for bringing this mod to my attention 😁
I Remember back when i first tried EFP, Gamma as a duty i had 60 rounds of 7.62 on semi decent condition AK and shitty armour against full armored mercs with high end weapons that basically aimbot you , i had to find all the parts and tool kits to modify and repair weapons, ruble rewards were a joke in contrast to how difficult it was and all these quote on quote 'hardcore'ness which was more of just tedious grind made me lose the interest of the game real fast. then a russian speaking friend of mine recommended this mod and well.. what can i say it's best of both worlds honestly it's not a mindfuc grind tedious drag your balls on sand nor walk in the park base vanila easy difficulty still has great weapon models and animations this is a gem hidden in dirt
Never got into Anomaly. Yes I played it but it was just too hardcore for me, to a point it was frustrating and not enjoyable at all. OwA is another good one, pretty vanilla which I like and prefer. I play it often . IwP is a perfect middle ground between vanilla and modded stalker. Challenging but pretty much enjoyable and satisfying to play. With CoTZ adaptation it shines.
Vanilla Anomaly is boring. The overall balance is all over the place. You start as a Loner and get a quest from Sid. The quest is all about you murdering someone in late game areas. Not to mention the rewards that come after completing such quest. "Kill a stalker named Max Fag..go....t in Pripyat" (avoiding youtube algorithm) and get a reward of maximum 3200 rubbles. The quest itself requires you to travel towards the late game areas and you lack gear. Let's say you manage to get there, by the time you reach there, all the enemies and mutants will be leveled up. Enemies will be packing AP bullets with end game armor. But you won't have such gear, because they are expensive. You will run out of ammo by the time you reach Garbage. And after all these years, no one ever has come up with an idea to fix the ridiculous quests.
Really nice video! It made me want to try out this COC. I've followed the IWP end guide, but whenever i try to start new game it crashes. How can i resolve it?
No idea, without specifically knowing what exactly you did. Did you install it in programs 86 or whatever? I know sometimes that has issues. Really I am no expert and you would be better helped at the C Con Discord, link in the description.
@@BrokenCircle1 No. I intalled it in example: C:Games. I dont think that's the reason. And i didn't even notice the C-Con Discord! I'll try it out. Thanks for replying!
@@romeislove Hey i ran into the same issue, you need to install patch no7 BEFORE the smaller new patch, the instructions are a bit off. So patch "16.08.24" first, then overwrite it with '22.08.24". There should be a link for both patches pasted in the instructions. If it isnt there, a TH-camr named ""Kamtek" has the patch in his IWP video here on yt.
You were 1000 percent right about Anomaly, I was only content when it was modded out, but vanilla Anomaly is a nightmare. IWP is just about perfect with Cotz.
@robcoguy6909 Even modded I ended up hating Anomaly. I tried for years and just could never enjoy it. For some reason I really bought into the whole 'this is THE mod to play' idea so I wasted what probably amounts to hundreds of hours trying. I feel dumb for that. Only real thing Anomaly has going for it are a few new levels.
in all honesty I'll never understand the hype of gamma, vanilla stalker is plenty difficult already if you ask me. there's a fine line between being challenging and fun and being tedious and frustrating and gamma feels like it leans heavily towards the latter. by the end of my playthrough I was more just glad it was almost over.
@@BrokenCircle1 That is awesome news and didn’t expect such a swift reply. I used to play GAMMA for all the cool features, but with install process and the slow progression… Thought it was a good idea to try IWP and I am not disappointed so far.
mod was super fun for the first couple hours til i finally bought the sunrise armor, and that shit broke within 2 gunfights that werent even that long, am i crazy or is there some way you can keep the armor maintained easily? it pissed me off so bad i couldnt keep playing
Does this work with GOG? I spent months online trying to get Gamma to work only to find out I eventually was doing it right but all the tutorials only worked with steam. Really the only things I want are vulnerable enemies and vulnerable player, scarcity and scavenging without the convoluted crafting. Things like hunger, thirst, weapon degradation, I like in concept but most games/mods make them tick so quickly, nipping between 2 buildings in the rain and an AK is useless and rusted.... Yeah that makes sense 🧐
Uhm...you don't need the base games for either of those mods to work. I would advise you not waste your time with GAMMA though. In the description i put link to the C Con Discord. The people there can help you instal IWP.
I'm playing a custom GAMMA, first two runs were on the default and after like 50+h of grind I decided to check every option and look for some additional mods. After a bit of modding I've increased drops and modified a game where it's still content rich and demanding while reducing grind considerably
Imho, GAMMA grind ain't that long if you know what you are doing. But it takes a fair bit of time to get all the gameplay mechanics. Still, you can find Advanced tools by day 2 or 3 of your GAMMA runs reliably. Or get fully repaired 5.45 / 5.56 guns by day 1 or 2. People grinding for 25h with their starting loadout simply didn't quite get what they can actually do and what they *should do* to progress faster. I'm working on making proper in game contextual tutorials to better inform the players about this. But even so, every player has its own method to progress, its own playstyle. And even after playing the thing for 300h and watching tons of playthroughs and even creating the whole thing, I still discover new strategies some players come up with (for instance, farming bandits for their "upgraded" jackets, repair them with textiles, disassemble them to get armor upgrade kits out of them). Some people focus on artefacts, others absolutely not, etc. The game is the "grind". It's just like saying you got bored of killing monsters and getting monster parts to craft armors and weapons in Monster Hunter: *that's* the game, the story isn't.
I will have to give this a try cause I hate anomaly and gamma. It's cause I know where anomaly comes from. Misery was something I never really enjoyed. It was artificial difficulty cranked up to 1000. Then call of misery happened, then Last day, which stripped things from misery to use, then Anomaly uses levels and mechanics from last day. I've given both base anomaly with my own mods and gamma a try and I find I just can't enjoy it for very long because that Misery gameplay loop creeps back in. I mean christ the random trash loot that you find is the exact same from Misery and Last Day.
Yes yes yes somebody gets it! 1000 times yes. I DESPISE Anomaly. I spent YEARS and perhaps hundreds of hours (stupid I know) trying to mod it into something playable and god it is awful. So glad I found this a few weeks ago. I hope it is something you can enjoy as well. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
@@BrokenCircle1 When people tell you to modify gamma to your liking they aren't taking into account that gamma is 400+ mods of bloat ontop of itself and removing any of it breaks the rest of it. Navigating the mod menu ingame to tweak shit is mind numbing because none of it is explained very well, so you're left trying to turn Gamma back into Stalker and not Tarkov misery and you waste a fuckton of time doing it. My personal freeplay mod of choice is call of the zone. It's unfinished, but more stable than coc, and I love the dynamic faction questlines.
@@contingentcat5690 This. Exactly. I tried doing that and it still wasn't great and overall was a colossal waste of time. I talked about CoTZ here. You can get an addon that puts all the quests from it into IWP.
@@contingentcat5690imo Gamma isn't really that modular. The actual modular Anomaly modpack is EFP. You can enjoy the guns, gunplay, animations and graphics while completely disabling the more hardcore mods like body health system, mags redux, and weapon and outfit parts overhaul.
IWP is great for a less hardcore sandbox experience compared to Anomaly, which a lot of people prefer. Although I do not really agree with the "IWP is Gunslinger for COC" sentiment by others, as it lacks a 3D PDA lol I still prefer EFP with BHS and Mags Redux disabled though, as I do not like the relatively quick progression of the more vanilla like mods :)
@@BrokenCircle1 I'm just saying that IWP's animations are not exactly "like Gunslinger" as many people say, but a lesser version of it due to the lack of 3D PDA. As for me, after playing hundreds of hours with 2D and 3D PDA, I'd prefer my game to use 3D PDA, as it's much less immersion breaking than the instant opening up of your map to track your location. I prefer the slow animation to open up your PDA, which might get you killed, but means you have to also plan when and where you can open your PDA. To each his own, some prefer a more hardcore experience, some a more vanilla experience.
@@BrokenCircle1 Wouldnt be surprised if it gets released standalone as a mod. If iwp keeps growing, people will probably be able to pick and choose which features to mod in, I already got the game looking like true stalker >:)
@@CheriShin21 so you are saying that mod is worse by simply not having a 3d pda? Absurd. The developers of IWP just didn't want to make this feature. IWP has not only more weapons, but new animations, sounds and overall feels like a much better version of gunslinger. And yeah, seems like you haven't seen that a lot of weapons in IWP has gunslinger animations.
@@pa1nkil3er No, I'm saying that IWP is missing the 3D PDA from Gunslinger, which makes it not exactly like Gunslinger (a full first person animation overhaul of the game). That's all.
The CotZ port is just too buggy for me to enjoy. It feels like half the doctor x quests cause something wrong and a CTD with a basically empty crash log so no one can even fix it. I can't talk to wolf without my game crashing. I can't do any of the bounty hunter/bounty hunted quests without the game crashing whenever I try to load into a new area or reload a save. Muggings have crashed my game several times. It's so awful. And base IWP is just as boring as CoC, a few fancy guns doesn't make it much better.
this. i couldnt even play for more then a couple hours as i crash randomly and ALWAYS CTD on loading a older save. the gunplay and combat(minus the movement, i feel like im a hutt) is fun and i wish it would get ported over as a mod for anomaly.
Got it up and working. What I cant find is the "lower weapon button" (so that you carry the rifle un-aimed with both your arms) I liked that in gamma and anomaly.
❓ Has anyone figured out the path to getting the suit from Halo? I've yet to trip anything that'll get me there. I'm not playing in Story Mode. Maybe that's why? Also, how does one get into the labs without doing Story Mode to get the codes to the locked doors? I've done keyword searches stating that most of the labs can't be entered even if one has the proper codes, but one is not in Story Mode at the time. I hope that isn't the case. Any help and advice will be warmly appreciated.
@skif_jr Yes that and absolutely structures. Sorry should have mentioned that. The install guide included in the IWP files recommends that. I think it has a link too.
Hey man can you do a installation guide for this mod and the call of the zone and everything i really want to try it because i tried stalker anomaly and didnt like it
What is the difference between Call of Chernobyl and IWP? The only reason I'm not playing IWP is because it doesn't have a Warfare mode addon The only reason I'm not playing Anomaly is because of the ugly modern visuals
@@overlord5068 The two biggest differences between CoC and IWP are the improved gunplay and damage scaling, as well as IWP running on a 64-bit engine rather than the limited and crash prone 32-bit engine CoC uses
How the hell do you get it to work? I followed the provided guide to a tee and i simply can't get it to start. Please make a video tutorial on installing it.
@Bay-rr4nj No I won't do that. The instructions are in there, if you really have trouble I'm sure others have made guides. If not joon the C Con Discord in the description. The people there can help you.
I got the mod installed, since your upload it seems they've made the mod standalone and added most of the features from the call of the zone addon you recommended. Cool, but I managed to get everything working just to find out theres a depth of field effect when aiming and reloading with no option to turn it off which makes the game totally unplayable for me..... This effect bothers me alot, I already have eyesight problems but now I can't see enemies half the time. Absolutely ridiculous that the extensive faq on their page doesn't include any info regarding how to turn this off.....
I installed the game wrong I use wrong setting or may be I am to much used to EFP, but for me it's seems like there is very few human/mutant enemies. Also much fewer anomalies. Other than that its really a very good mod. Thx for the video and showing this to me.
what? a mod that doesn't force me to spend hours to file down a gun just for it to break after 1 gun fight? impossible this is disgusting im dislking this video and im going to hack gamma into your pc (the setup time will kill your pc) i would do something worse but i got into a fight with a cat and i had to use my last and only 5 bullets on my pistol, im now bankrupt.
@@BrokenCircle1 it really is, i tried to play gamma many times, but its so tedious, and all of its tutorials are hours long. Mods like this video you made right now is what keeps me interested in stalker, simple and easy to get into without having to rent tools to file the barrel of a gun. Really good video btw
Thank you I appreciate it. Yeah though those hours long tutorials...just insane. I have work, a wife, a house and cars to upkeep...y'know in real life lol. I swear alot of the GAMMA fanboys seem like the chronically online types.
the majority now wants tryhard mmorpg inventory management gray blunt playstyle to brag to other what they achived etc... instead of having acc fun like in this modpack... whoever has a job family etc cant be bothered to grind hours for a weapon or smth.... just saying
Mod isn't even good, it's unstable and the quests the npc's give you are all poorly written fetch quests with zero sense of progression. First quest gave me an rpg one hour into it, complete and total nonsense. Also it crashed like 3 times in 30 minutes for me. The anomaly hate is a meme, let them seethe. When stalker 2 comes out, they can finally be quiet.
Y'know, it really bothers me when people complain about the harshness of a mod like say GAMMA when the mod itself lets you tweak the difficulty to your liking. You can start on hard and then up the drop rates a the condition so that you get entire mags and pristine weapons from killing one dude.
@@randomtuber9622 What exactly didn't I listen to? He's promoting a mod that "works well out of the gate with minimal addon tweaking" and complains about more recent more hardcore mods being too harsh. He says said mod is great because it offers an intermediate between more hardcore experiences and the original stalker experience. I'm saying that you can get all this from GAMMA. Installing the modpack isn't rocket science and if you find the game to be too harsh you can tweak literally everything inside the settings from money to weapon conditions to drop rates and even ai behavior, all this coming from a modpack that makes the game feel more modern all while giving you the old stalker experience. To me this video feels like "I got Anomaly from Wish and I think it's better than what 90% of the people say".
@@ayuvir yeah i can see why the reply says that you didn't listen to what the video shows, sure GAMMA maybe able to tweak "everything" but that doesn't fix the core issue that Anomaly has, which is the Craft, Repair and Disassemble mechanic that slogs the whole pace of the game that even a snail is faster than Anomaly/GAMMA. Besides, if you want an old Stalker expirience, do try and play story-based standalone mods, as they are a lot more closer than Anomaly/GAMMA can ever come close. They only focus on gear-based progressions which again slogs the pace so much that TH-cam Kids content would be much more bearable than this. Also don't try to think that this is Anomaly from bargain bin when Anomaly itself is a bargain bin from Call of Chernobyl and Misery hodgepodge together with other addons, making it at it's core a modpack of a modpack of Call of Chernobyl
@@Ghstkng123 Ooof I hit a nerve I see. You can skip the crafting by increasing drop rates and increasing the condition of dropped items you know, that one thing I've been saying that you seem to like to ignore in my comments. Reading must be hard.
Can you name stalker mods that don’t have code from Russian modders? Also why are you discriminating? Some of the devs for IWP are Ukrainian and they all get along well, even if they have different political beliefs.
@@NotMatter-y2n I repeat once again, I am disgusted to use modifications from people who commit crimes against a neighboring country, I will always be in favor of ruZZian leaving the modding for the UKRAINIAN game.
this is genius, honestly. i really got bored of GAMMA, it felt like a majority of my time was spent mindlessly grinding, trying to get the best gear possible through trial and error, praying that NPCs dropped the barrels or components or whatever that i needed, rather than actual engaging with the environment or NPCs.
i’m for sure going to try this mod, thank you for making this video! i was stumped as to what i could find in terms of free play, and this really is perfect.

@@Goaheadandstaymad21332 Most of the stuff Anomaly includes doesn't add much of value that isn't just catering to the hardcore survival players.

@@hakzource8660 Yeah those mods have alot of bloat in them.
i was stuck for years replaying Soc or Cop with mods and switched to Anomaly but man........i tried atleast 5 times to make "my perfect stalker" and failed miserably and this last month reinstalled CoC with some mods after 5 years and youtube recomended this nice!!!!
Thank for watching, I understand your pain I was in the same boat with Anomaly. Huge waste of time.
I saw your video pop up in my feed and I was quite intrigued by the title, when we take into account that we've both had the same issues with Anomaly and G.A.M.M.A
I downloaded I.W.P and gave it a try a few hours ago and holy shit, I am amazed.
I will be checking this out based on your recomendation
.
Thank you, I've been getting burnt out from anomaly lately so this is nice to see
64bit coc? Say less. Thanks for saving me 70 gigs of space
Did you actually watch and listen to what else he said in the video?
That may be what i wanted to play. I've been trying to find a perfect balance between the uncanny, liminal and mysterious sci-fi atmosphere of Oblivion Lost Remake - Vector of Alienation, which is very focus on story, but also a more "nightmarish" world, and a more fun and content-filled exploration in those places.
Now, what kind of "buggy" are we talking about here?

"Call of The Zone" is my favorite COC variant for STALKER, and it is a dream come true to see it on a 64bit engine.
It seems the COTZ mod for IWP is getting frequent updates which is great, I hope to see it improve.
For Anomaly, Old World Addon is indeed a godsend, it made it fun, but still not COTZ or COC.

@zlostnypopolnik Uhm...how? Lost Alpha is a great mod but for freeplay I prefer this one.

@enolastraight4829 maybe once briefly. Perhaps I should ammend this title...'the best FREEPLAY Stalker mod'
There is certainly a difference between freeplay and story mods.
@@BrokenCircle1 While there is certainly difference between frreplay and story mods, the Legend Returns is pretty good at both roles, in my opinion.
This is a pretty sick mod recommendation.
@k_balu-8104 That's a pretty big issue then no?
@@K_Balu any way to tweak rubles earned and wpn degrading? These are two main issues I would like to tweak to my taste as well.
@@eKoush You can tweak them in-game via the options, load your save then press ESC then go to options and gameplay settings, and the like
Other way around for me tbh. I don't like Stalker EFP because it's too tarkov-ish, but GAMMA in the other hand has quite a good reward system, and fully repairing a weapon/armour feels so satisfying knowing you didn't get given it, unlike in this particular mod where everyone drops good loot. Not saying both are bad, but as a sandbox survival with potentially longer gameplay hours, GAMMA feels more rewarding imo.
ive always appreciatdled the niche ideas or comps that really didnt really go anywhere but some where finished and finalized for hs to enjoy

@@johbowfor You're welcome. Thanks for watching. I honestly think IWP is overall the best freeplay mod out there.

This looks great! How does the gunplay of this (not just balance but animations) compare to ogsr gunslinger? I tried to find comparisons but im wondering if one is better or more consistent then the other.
do you use other mods like graphical mods when recording the footage?
@@BrokenCircle1 That's great to hear but yeah the guns definitely do look like crap.
I really wouldn't say it is the best one.
It's up there for sure, but there are just far too many good flavors of mods and sandbox is just a very small of them.
If you guys loved the trilogy here are some mods that in my opinion captured the mysterious feeling of the trilogy:
Made by Jekan:
Return to the Zone(3 story campaigns and a story extraction mode), Goldensphere OGSR(based on Roadside Picnic), OGSR Legacy(pretty much a remake of ShoC with lots of cut content and user made content).
Team V.I.V.E.N.T.:
Incubator, Dreamcatcher(sequel to Incubator). They have more great mods but they still are hard to understand Machine translations.
zaurus' crew:
Apocalipsis Trilogy OGSR, Fallen star(also called "Der gefallene Stern" sequel to A-Trilogy), Last STALKER(sequel to Fallen Star)
Creators/teams I forgot the name of:
True Stalker(if you don't mind cutscene glassjaw), Dollchan infinity, Road to the north(story/free play hybrid, main story starts at Skadovsk), Path in the Mist, Wind of Time(it starts with timetravel from the year 2114 back to 2014 and has some big twists)
All of these are standalone and can be found on moddb and if it isn't there you can find reuploads in the c-consciousness community mod-spreadsheet

@@TheThreatActor you're welcome. Yeah anomaly takes alot of what makes Stalker great and ruins it.
@@BrokenCircle1 Thanks to your video, I found this awesome mod and I've been having a blast playing it. Thanks man.
I Remember back when i first tried EFP, Gamma
as a duty i had 60 rounds of 7.62 on semi decent condition AK and shitty armour against full armored mercs with high end weapons that basically aimbot you
, i had to find all the parts and tool kits to modify and repair weapons, ruble rewards were a joke in contrast to how difficult it was
and all these quote on quote 'hardcore'ness which was more of just tedious grind made me lose the interest of the game real fast.
then a russian speaking friend of mine recommended this mod and well.. what can i say
it's best of both worlds honestly it's not a mindfuc grind tedious drag your balls on sand nor walk in the park base vanila easy difficulty
still has great weapon models and animations
this is a gem hidden in dirt
great video
Thank you for watching that means alot. Been a long week.

Welp, guess im planning going back to play stalker ounce again freshly
@@megapixel4664 Hope you enjoy the mod
Never got into Anomaly. Yes I played it but it was just too hardcore for me, to a point it was frustrating and not enjoyable at all.
OwA is another good one, pretty vanilla which I like and prefer. I play it often .
IwP is a perfect middle ground between vanilla and modded stalker. Challenging but pretty much enjoyable and satisfying to play. With CoTZ adaptation it shines.
Exactly my point. Thanks for watching.

You were 1000 percent right about Anomaly, I was only content when it was modded out, but vanilla Anomaly is a nightmare. IWP is just about perfect with Cotz.
@robcoguy6909 Even modded I ended up hating Anomaly. I tried for years and just could never enjoy it. For some reason I really bought into the whole 'this is THE mod to play' idea so I wasted what probably amounts to hundreds of hours trying.

@@BrokenCircle1 No problem, am glad you like it just as much as i do, its fantastic mod that needs to be seen, best regards.
in all honesty I'll never understand the hype of gamma, vanilla stalker is plenty difficult already if you ask me. there's a fine line between being challenging and fun and being tedious and frustrating and gamma feels like it leans heavily towards the latter. by the end of my playthrough I was more just glad it was almost over.

@@El_destornillador I'm not a fan of hardcore mods. I don't think I'll be trying that one at least not anytime soon.

@GhostManPRO Yeah it has a new standalone release. Just search it on Google. it's easier to install now and runs better
Yeah I was just playing slowly, I love the default gamma experience as well!
@@CheriShin21 old world addon is better than all of them
IWP is great for a less hardcore sandbox experience compared to Anomaly, which a lot of people prefer. Although I do not really agree with the "IWP is Gunslinger for COC" sentiment by others, as it lacks a 3D PDA lol
I still prefer EFP with BHS and Mags Redux disabled though, as I do not like the relatively quick progression of the more vanilla like mods :)
3D PDA is cool for the first hour then it gets annoying and gets me killed more than anything. I prefer 2D.

Y'know, it really bothers me when people complain about the harshness of a mod like say GAMMA when the mod itself lets you tweak the difficulty to your liking. You can start on hard and then up the drop rates a the condition so that you get entire mags and pristine weapons from killing one dude.
You didn’t listen to what he said
