I’ve got a lazy eye and right now it isn’t bad but I want the surgery. Sometimes I see it in pictures or I can feel it. As long as I’m knocked out for the procedure I would love this. I have always had a “dominant eye” and only my friend who also has a lazy one gets what I mean by that. I would love to see with both equally.

You got it wrong: it is not the vision that is restored so that both eyes work together, it’s just making both eyes aesthetically symmetrical, which does not mean that both eyes will gain same vision parameters or function. Careful there.

@@amber_5555 It went great. It took a little longer for my left eye to heal because it had been turned out since I was 12 years old. My right eye was in the beginning stages. I went through alot of itchiness on the corners of my eyes where the stitches were and also some redness but after a few weeks both of my eyes healed up nicely. It took me awhile to adjust to seeing my left eye straightened out after going so many years with seeing my left eye turned outward in the mirror. I never seen my right eye turned outward but the surgeon had told me that it would soon be turning outward. So that's why he did both of my eyes. He caught it early!! 👀👍🏻👍🏻

I got that operation when I was 4 years old, now I am 56; It fixed 90% of my problem in term of eye alignment, but my vision did not changed that much; for sure it is really hard for me to compare before and after the operation because I was too young to remember. My understanding is this operation will "cure" strabismus more than vision itself; but I am not a doctor and have a very little understanding of the problem.

Mis aligned eyes is not Lazy eye . Lazy eye is the result of poor vision in one eye due to your brain favoring your stronger eye as a result it depends on the good eye more so your vision in both eyes isn’t the same . I have a lazy eye I can still see but it’s not able to focus as well as my right eye and I can’t see small things I would like to cure this so I can have 20- 20 in both eyes or close to it bc my right is already 20-20 but this is an insult to people who actually have that , a wandering eye is that a wandering eye or cross eyed

I was diagnose with the lazy eye when i was 6 year old until today i am wearing glasses and contact lenses for 23 years now, i have this problem too that my left eye can see better than my right eye and my left eye had a lower prescription than my right eye, when i was a kid some of my friends told me that, are you talking me or the wall on the side? Like i felt so insulted, i had that problem going on until hight school, and one day i decided to do a challenge to teach my eyes focus on one thing and i put thing on the wall i look at it for five minutes i did it or do it more often until i corrected my eyes and i didn’t know that is actually helping, today i am 28, and nobody told me anymore that are you looking at me? Or i never hear this words for 12 years now, and no body knows i have lazy eye until i told them for them to be aware about my eye sight or cross eye thing, i am thinking about getting lasik to improve my eye sight and this might help me to live normal life no glasses or contact lenses anymore.

I am relieved to know that my condition is not my fault. When I was growing up, my parents would say, with a moralistic tone, “You know, you could’ve had normal vision, if only you hadn’t kept tearing the patch off when you were little. “ (I was three years old at the time my eye was patched, and was understandably terrified that I suddenly couldn’t see). The ophthalmologists when I was about seven or so told my parents I missed the critical window for salvaging the vision in my eye. The thought that I probably could have treated the problem when I was old enough to understand what was going on infuriates me.
