    Get yourself a circlip plier that is closed when not in use, it's the reverse of the one you already have, it's cheap.
    You can also search for the larger tweezers, they will help in picking up small objects when using gloves.
    Best of luck.

    From what i have been told, the thing that kills the plastic gears is the wheel coming off the ground while under power and then speeding up and coming back into contact with ground. Metal gears are available but can be noisey hence the preference of the nylon gears.

    • @EbikeRepairs
      @EbikeRepairs  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Possibly, or just dry grease/overloading. metal gears wear the hub itself, which is expensive.

    @Ebike Repairs Question for you... if I installed the new planetary gear part without using dielectric grease, how bad is that? Have I drastically shortened the life of the new planetary gears? A tiny bottle of dielectric grease here in Toronto is $16 for a tiny tiny bottle.... so I basically wondered if it was just cheaper to install new planetary gears each time instead of spending the additional money on the grease each time as well. What do you think? (Was also worried to use grease at all because unlike the top of your motor, mine has three holes that allow you to see into the internals of the motor. Though I understand this is the reason why you specifically need 'dielectric' grease)

    • @EbikeRepairs

      @@EbikeRepairs, Everything breaks, given enough time. Would the cost of replacing planetary gears over time be cheaper than the entire motor seizing? For example, with steel gears the motor would arguably be able to handle torque longer without failing, and the cheaper parts are more wasteful having to be replaced more often, correct? Wouldn't it be better to have steel gears that don't break as often?
