I just ran my first marathon (4:48:45) in Atlantic City, NJ on 10/23 in the V-RUN EVO 2 and I felt amazing when finished! I felt so great that this sunday I am running the Philadelphia marathon. Thats 2 marathons and 2 half marathons in 1 month. These shoes are the best!
How did you do in the half iron man race. I saw your video on stress before it but nothing on how you did. Also I bought vibrams a long time ago because of you and still wear them today. I've bought 3 pairs of them. They changed my life for the better. Thank you Steve for all you do. I miss the shed though lol.
I miss the shed too man! Glad to hear you're loving the Vibrams!! I finished the HIM, was flying until about 60% through the bike in which I developed a ridiculous pain in my galbladder, that worsened and was preventing me from breathing. I dragged myself over the finishline in 6:17, which is almost spot on an hour and a half slower than my PB, however I was pleased to finish considering the amount of pain I was in.
Love your videos and the honesty that you putt in it! You [help to] made me a 'Vibramholic'! The count is on 3 pairs: KSO Evo, Bikila Evo and Trek Ascent. Now really how many pairs do you have? :D Just wanted to say hi and thank you for the "sport's joy" that you put in the videos! Cheers from Portugal!
Unfortunately I've had the worst experience with the V-run. The sole on 3 pairs has worn down insanely fast. I'm getting a new pair every 4 months. I only went on 5K runs at a 8:30 pace, so nothing crazy. With the original Bikila I could easily get a year's worth of runs in them before needing a replacement. I wore a hole in the sole of my first V-run within 6 months, and I'm still using my original Bikila pair as gym shoes without any issues. Has anyone else had these issues?
Kalclash Fitness Ⓥ I bought them from Vibram and from a source they verified is an authorized seller. Vibram replaced the first pair, but didn't respond to me after that.
Great review. I run in the Bikila ls at the moment. Struggling with pain in the ball of my foot though after 6 miles. Do these offer more comfort to the soles of the feet?
As Drew said they're a bit better but not hugely, and if you're running in the Bikila EVO the soles are exactly the same. If you have pain on the ball of your foot, in my experience this can often be when you're increasing the mileage too fast. I've had it before and it's gone after a while, but my pain was only mild. If it's too much then you need to ease off.
so v-run or kso evo? im going to be running in Canadian early spring (so wet and cool/cold) throughout all summer which can get pretty hot. first pair of vibrams ever so im going to be transitioning into vibrams. I'll be mainly running beaten paths that consist of asphalt, dirt track, light gravel trails and some gnarlier trails too (probably in that order). I'm curious to see the new v-trail coming out in spring as i'll be doing some obstacle racing and will want a specialist pair mid summer (trek ascent or v-trail). Your thoughts?
Hey man, I'd go for the Bikila Evo. They're a great all rounder, and should be fine for your needs. Obviously the Trek Ascent would perform better on the more technical trails, but they don't perform anywhere near as well on paved surfaces.
Langor Oh shit, do they not make it at all? I'd snap up an older pair from somewhere while you still can! If not the V-Run and the KSO EVO are both great choices. The V-Run soles are a little thicker, which offer a bit more protection where as the KSO EVO are super minimal, which make them a job to run in but not great off road.
Kalclash Fitness Ⓥ I'm also trying to decide between the KSO evos and the V-run/bikila. I'm new to barefoot running and leaning towards KSO EVOS. My thinking is that I want to prioritize improving my form first and since the KSO evos are so minimal, they will essentially force me to have good form or else deal with inevitable injuries. since impatience isn't really an issue for me, I'm willing progress very, very slowly and begin with mostly walking if that's what it takes. I want my tendons, muscles, etc to become completely accustomed to being as barefoot as possible and then perhaps move on to something like the V-runs. do you think that that argument is legitimate or would it be smarter to use something like the V-runs as a means of transitioning to barefoot?
hey steve I love your reviews I recently started running and I love it I already lost 16 kilo's over 8 month's with running a diet and once in a week I go to an personal trainer hè don't believe in barefoot running but I orderd my frist pair vibram v run shoes and I gonna try them out tomorrow I hope i'll gonna love idd because the shoes lookes great I'll let you now how it was sorry for my english but i'm from Belgium
How did you get on? People that have never tried barefoot running don't understand it, and people fear what they don't understand. Just make sure you ease yourself into it slowly.

@@evygeudens8854 Great! Thanks. I have KSO EVO which are very thin, no padding. I still like them but I ran in all sort of issues (sore calves, plantar fasciitis, metatarsal stress, sore tendon and more) but every one resolved quickly with some rest. My shoes are very harsh, no padding, just 2mm of rubber, so I ran the 1/2 marathon in Nike Frees instead! I'm thinking of giving the v-run a try.

None of Vibram's shoes have arch support. If you want to start getting into FiveFingers start slow and slowly get used to them, eventually your feet will strengthen enough to not need arch support.
+Ahlyia Al-Birekdar hey dude, as Chris says the beauty of barefoot running is you don't need arch support. Arch support requirement is a result of supportive traditional shoes. Start slow and your arches will become super strong in time!

awesome review! could you please review the Syridion Mr Elite with the strap across the shoe. I haven't seen a review on it yet. Thanks!
Can you please try out the v train and v trial?
Hi, and thanx for the great review...I like your way to review! Whereby I can recognize if I have original VFF or fake ones?
Love the video! Thx for the info!!
How flexible are they... can you roll them up
Hi steve.
I wonder know about furoshiki. Have u already tried it?
HI am getting skin abrasion on heal , near achillies muscle area..how to avoid this?

Right I'm gonna mix up a future video and see if you notice...
Great review. I run in the Bikila ls at the moment. Struggling with pain in the ball of my foot though after 6 miles. Do these offer more comfort to the soles of the feet?
It's a different feel, but I think they provide a little more comfort while running. Nothing insanely different, but a bit better.

I find these run one size larger. I fit the KMD sport LS in a 44 and the v-run feels larger in terms of length.
I love vibrams 5f. However, do you have any tricks how to put them on quickly? It's always a heavy battle with indocile fingers :)
How do they compare to the KSO Evo Steve? More padding on the V-Run?
