Finally a reviewer who actually shows us what food in the oven looks like Instead of just saying "I like this unit cuz it heats my food and works well" thank you.
Five years old, here i am trying my first toaster oven during the last stretch of the pandemic.. so many reviews are just unboxing, thank you for actually showing how to cook popular foods i wouldve burned the first try
I know your video was done 8 years ago but, it's still very relevant! I just received this very toaster displayed in the video today 6/09/2024. I purchased the same oven 3 years ago, didn't read the instructions or look at a TH-cam video and didn't even know where the drip and mess pan were supposed to go. Today, I decided to look at a video, and yours was the one. Eureka!, who knew that following instructions would give you more clarity (he said with a side look). Thank you very much for your clear instructions on how the the toaster is assembled and it's working instructions!
Wow, thank you so much!!! Finally a proper review. With not only "i like this" but how it actually works. I have the 6 slice version of this. While of course accounting for some minor differences, the general idea of how to use and how it works is the same. Thanks for an informative review!!
You are wonderful! No instruction manual came with this and I was getting so frustrated I was going to take it back! Thanks to you now I know how to use the oven. Why the manufacturer could not take a little of their profits to create an instruction manual of a few pages is beyond me. Using the oven may seem intuitive when you know how to do it, but when you don't know anything (never had one before) all you have as an option is trial and error. For a guy like me, this is very frustrating. So much experimentation just to get a piece of toast, and then I did it wrong. I had the temperature set at 350 degrees and when the toast finally was brown, I turned the time clicker all the way to "On all the time". Imagine my shock when I came into the kitchen 3 hours later and saw the heat coils red hot! YIKES! In a world that has been dumbed down so much, how do they expect a single guy like me to know intuitively how to use the stupid thing? Geez. Thanks so much. (to prove I am not just incredibly stupid, I am a programmer and system design engineer).
@@favorite3424 Nope. No button. Apparently you’re supposed to be able to spin the knob past off to a stay on setting, but mine simply cannot be forced to go that far, so I just put it on 30 minutes then wait 10 or 20 minutes and spin it back to 30. 🤷🏼♀️

This is the best review I have seen on this Toaster oven. You explained everything and I like it that you showed HOW to cook in it and HOW to set the controls! The booklet I have with my new bigger model leaves very much to be desired in the way of instructions. Thank you so much!!
Excellent Review. I've just purchased a B&D T/O and the directions of the placing of the tray/rack and use leave much to be desired. Now I can confidently burn some toast. BTW, yours was the best review I seen, thank you.
I can't say thank you enough! I'm newly on the Keto diet and I'm trying not to use my Microwave oven, which is a little difficult when you have to prepare most meals every day from scratch. My twin bought me a Toaster oven last week, but it has been a challenge "converting" from the quick microwave to toaster oven. I especially wanted to know how to re-heat food and you've explained perfectly. Unfortunately, I tried baking a 3-minutes Keto Cheddar Bay biscuit in the toaster oven...after 20 minutes the outside was overdone, the inside under-baked, and the mug was so burnt it took an entire day to soak so I could wash it, so I have to continue experimenting. 😕 I didn't know how to re-heat food, so have been still (grudgingly) using the microwave. I get that microwaving is not the healthiest thing to do, but unless wonderful persons like yourself post helpful clips like this, or I can find TH-camrs who bake using a Toaster oven, it is a real challenge to switch. So again, my grateful thanks!
Not me having so much social anxiety that I’m too scared to ask my roommates how our toaster works so I find a review video on TH-cam to explain it for me
I love that you tested so many things with this oven! You did not say how well done the BOTTOM of the bagel was! Some toaster ovens have a bagel setting so that the bottom will NOT cook as much as the top, making it easier to hold and not as crunchy. The only thing that bugs me about it is that the tray/grill does not slide out, automatically, with the door, forcing one to use an oven mitt to pull out the tray.
This was a great informative review. I just picked up a practically new one from a used store. I am missing the bottom crumb tray. I will search online for a new one. Thanks again.
Just got one of these b&d toaster ovens at a yard sale. Looks like it was never used for $10 with a set of nice measuring cups for free. This vid was very helpful on getting started with my new to me toaster oven. Thanx👍
Yea! This was so helpful! Thank you!! The instructions that come with the appliance is pretty basic - almost sketchy :0) I can now cook more confidently in my new toaster oven!! Great review
Thanks ! I bought a used one ( brand new) at a Thrift store but it didn't have the instruction booklet. At least now I have a general idea I didn't have before.. Single guys survive on toaster ovens and microwaves! lolo
Just bought another brand with similar features and the manual was not detailed enough (i.e., no pictures, etc.). So glad I found your review! I love seeing how to prepare different foods and actually seeing how the baking rack should be inserted. Although I bought it specifically for toasting and warming, I think I'll try waffles and fries next. Thanks!!!

I just bought a similar one from Black and Decker and I found very negative comments about it. The oven burns. Some ppl threw it away because it burned in their kitchen!! Here I see only positive reviews... I dont knw what to think.. should I return it or not
Good review. Just got this exact toaster. I really like how you demonstrate things. For some of us, this is the best way to understand. So, if I'm not mistaken, it's called a 4-slice because it can fit 4 slices of bread? Just to be clear, the "warm" function is the one to use for reheating cooked food? Reheating is the main reason I need the toaster. Is it safe to reheat food in a regular ceramic plate as you would if using a microwave?
I actually learned a lot from this video. Trying to figure out the perfect way to hear my Torino's 🍕. I add extra 🧀 and lots of other stuff so I'm not sure if that really makes a difference or not. Thx for the info. I had no idea how to heat up toast besides just putting the oven on stay on and watching it. Super helpful 👍
Just got a TO3000G model which I've figured out you don't have to set the timer for toast. If the top knob is set to toast, skip the knob in the middle then use the bottom knob to select the light medium or dark toast icons. You would think Black+ Decker would have a manual and maybe a recipe book but I guess power tools are their forte, not ovens.
Thank you for this review. I’m about to purchase this toaster oven, but I have a question, please. I understand that the tray it comes with is aluminum and hard to keep clean. You mentioned not to use foil paper. Am I going to have a problem if I line the tray either parchment or foil? Thx.
Still don't know if product has automatic shut off. Seems like an important feature you blithely ignore. Not a small issue since I had a bad accident with a bread machine that did not turn off automatically
I noticed that your video cut out for a second when you were going to demonstrate turning the timer knob to 10 and then rotate it back to your desired time. My knob doesn't move backward so I'm wondering if that's why you cut out that section.
If i need to heat up running frozen food. What can i put it in ?? Ceramic, Metal or can hard plastic plate work ?? Any help will be greatly appreciated thank you ❤❤🎉
It doesn't go back. It's a big downfall of this oven. You can't turn the knob back. It really knocks out a lot of the functionality of the oven, along with the temp being a solid 100 degrees off. If you set the oven 100 degrees higher than what you need, things will cook in the time they're supposed to.

What does the middle knob actually do? I mean, the temp & time are covered by the other two knobs. Do they change the ratio of heat from above and below or something? I honestly don't know the difference between baking and broiling.
I just got the 6-slice model. Wondering what that black nut is for at the back. It only seems to hold a small screw on the inside, but has this big plastic feeling nut on the back with a hex screw?! Its a weird thing
You turn it on and when it's preheated, the light goes off. Then the light will go on and off through the heating cycle as the heating element comes on and goes off to keep the temperature.
Hi, i have a question. For the toast selection, do I have to turn the knob to 10 and then the shade needed?? I didn't turn it to 10, but toasted some bread and it was SUPER black even though it was on the half white half black section
Hi Afreen, turn the middle dial to toast, all the way to the right and the bottom dial to the shade you wanted as you did. Maybe the middle dial was set to another function like broil? Hope that helps 😀
Question: The middle and bottom dials "clicked" when you moved them, but, I didn't hear a "click" when you turned the top dial. Does it "click" or not? If not, that's a potential problem, because it might move to a different temperature just by brushing your hand against it, accidentaly.
