I've been watching the show since the early days, and I love how you use the same songs for certain situations. The second I heard that song when the car didn't start, I knew that meant there were problems. Also when the car did start, I knew what song it was going to be. Keep up the great work boys
True mega fan here. That piece of music is called “It won’t start” and we use it whenever the car doesn’t start. You’re the first one to notice and comment. Good stuff!
@@mightycarmodswas that song ever released? I've heard it since I was a kid in your videos and always try to find it and never can Same with the one when the car starts
No they weren't, I've been watching these guys since Marty's very first liberty build( also the reason why I bought a 2002 GT legacy like 10 years back) ANYWAYS, They use interim music for specific scenes and that are never released for full songs. Which in my opinion, some of the songs I'd keep on repeat or splice them together because they are SOOO GOOD.
Lenny is a really nice guy. One time I was out for drinks in a random Sydney suburb, and I had posted earlier in the Daihatsu group desperately searching for brake pads for my L200 mira. nek minut Lenny's driving in the middle of the night to deliver them to me, free of charge - while im plastered from a night on the piss. Absolutely a generous and kind hearted man.
Oh i absolutely love the music on the show in general. I've had nearly all of the youtube releases on my playlists for as long as i can remember. I hope we'd get more of them released on youtube some day. Most recent favorites being 12:15 and 13:54 which i'm dying to hear from start to finish.
I recently had to go to site for 3 and a half weeks. Before leaving, I got hold of seasons 3, 4 and 5 of MCM, loaded the dvds onto my phone and watched them on the planes and with my evening meals, after 13hr days- just keeping that smile on my face. I also got to watch Moog's story, on MCM2- smiles, tears, the works. But I suppose what's profound is there's been this transition, where I've been watching the old stuff- you two on a drive way, saying "Rick loves it"- and now my scenery has changed, I'm back home with my wife, watching the new stuff, but you are both still going strong on the Daihatsus, talking about the Blue Turd, but now you have a hoist. I was just watching the story of the Blue Turd! Kinda crazy timing. Love the continuity and how the show is staying true to its roots. You guys rock.
Moog's music is always such vibes, I can't get enough been watching since the early Marty's mums driveway days, it doesn't matter that you now in a fancy unit with a lift the videos still hits with the same backyard feeling just as the rest of us we have all grown up, I used to work on the street with my car but now I'm older I have a unit myself and getting my lift this week!
2:25 - MOOG, this is next level music. Damn! Reminds me Tiesto on it's golden times. Keep that path and you will be a world hit on no time. I'm amazed. lol
LOVE what you bloody mates are doing for the car industry and for being the car resto video gods and you were even on the forefront in the very early days of TH-cam and even now you guys are bloody legends ! Daihatsu for the W !
YESSS. FINALLY!! My first car is finally being modified. Well not literally my car but is very similar. Mine is a Daihatsu yrv with the EJ-DE engine, the same exact engine 😍😍
The lap of Australia in that is very ambitious, but seeing as your guys are the premium four wheel drive channel in Oz , it’s good that you can dispel the myth that you need all wheel drive to do a lap . Good on you , and can I have your postie bikes if you don’t make it ?
There is a super chill beat playing in the background during the opening of the video (before the cut to the start of working on the engine) and it's just super tight. i really like it
Love that you're back making Daihatsu shitboxes awesome again. Adore those little cars. Also love that there's someone like Lenny out there showing 'em some love too. Top lad!
I started watching you guys when I found the blue turd videos. It is still one of my favorite series on your channel. I like small cars especially when they are faster then they should be or were designed to be.
Hey fellas I'm back. Haven't watched a video in several years with no good reason why, BUT now I can binge all the goodness I have missed out on in the last few years. Good to see the first videos I am watching are through back to the first car on MCM.
Boys, you broke my heart, I own one of the Jaguars ( S type ) that was in the clip of Sting's desert rose and it is magnificent! Keep up the awesome work!!
My first car was a Daihatsu Charade nugget. I loved that thing. It was like a Tardis in the way I could pack stuff into it. It went mudding in alpine fields in the depths of winter too. Engine finally went on it. Wish I could have given it a Viking funeral.
Way back in the day I binged all your videos including this one and the miss daisy series to get through a cad project in about 48hrs. Awesome to see this car getting some love
Love watching you guys, and giving me the motivation and confidence to work on things more advanced then a simple service! Last weekend I removed the throttle and EGR on my diesel outlander and cleaned it all out as it was running rough, then put it back together replacing a leaking intercooler pipe. Still runs like crap but at least the bost leak is fixed! Next weekend im checking the turbo and DPF!
Seeing these engine rebuild montages and then hearing moog talk about playing these games reminds me of the old gt2 intro video. The one where you basically get a full internal view of a combustion cycle.
I've been watching you guys since before I had a driver's license. Matt from Matt's off-road recovery on TH-cam is having a TH-camr event. I would love to see you two back in the States for that event!
I did basically this in my s13 with a ka24de. still has egr and smog shit on (except the cat) and a megasquirt ecu with accompanying sensors. Having a blast tuning it myself and the KA woke up!
Looking at doing a future conversion from an ED-20 to a EJ-DE to my '97 Daihatsu Move in the future. Just stuck trying to find appropriate wiring for it, but so far its current engine has done a solid 207,000km and is still going strong. Definitely keen to give it my best, but its hard to find the time/space considering its my daily runner.
I was a lucky man to find an L701 with only 30k miles and no rust back in 2020. "The Little Dipper" is white and has been my daily for the last 3 years. Lowers springs for 1.5 inches of an arch gap and 175 Falken all-seasons make is stable when near it's top speed 😉🫡
Honestly, Nothing is perfect, Realistically you're bound to mess something up when doing this, the utter skill it takes to only mss up one thing like that engine mount. its pretty whatever, very realistic, no crazy sema shit having everything perfect. I love the honesty, +1000% watching enjoyment
I am a new subscriber but i already watched most of the old builds and mad stuff you guys did in the past and am loving it keep it up guys, found you a litle bit late but better than never🙌🏼🙌🏼 Also maybe 2Sexy coming with some power ups new setup same as VTEC Mini in near future?
I’d love to see a vid on how to source and specify shocks and springs for your car. Like what’s universal, what’s car specific what’s too cheap, what’s too expensive etc
I have an L701 as my daily and a Copen that is absolutely rotten with rust. Looks forward to getting it on the road, as qith the twin factory X-brace, was able to throw it into roundabouts at 60kph with no hassle. Even on 165 tyres, she drives like she's on rails 🗣‼️👍
Man MCM is always on top but putting these expensive and sick as haltech ecu’s in cars like there changing air fresheners is another level. The things I’d do to have one in my car when I build it
Such a tinny little motor :) .. I would be afraid of snapping a bolt .. I'm used to my 6+ litre Ford motors from the 60's and their monster torque ratings .. Should be fun to hear this burping through a coffee can hanging out under the rear bumper ..
Back in the 80's, one of out mates dads had his D Charade bored and Turbo'd ... With only our Mate in the car driving (Two.. still fast....but) , It could play hard with all the cars my mates had.. From Worked Escorts , V8 HQ's, Torana LJ , with a high comp 192... Yep.... It was MIGHTY!
Damn Moog, I love the car content, but your tunes take it up another level. Marty, If it weren't for your no nonsense approach to things, I wouldn't watch any of the vids. You fucking rock!

Sometimes its easy to overlook how talented Moog is, alot of making MCM really awesome to watch is the music, always on point! Love your work Moog!
Very kind. Thanks mate
Marty is a sound engineer too! They both work together to make a fantastic, TV quality production.

Moog Deserves a Grammy for all the amazing music hes made throught the years
Not really
