She is such a great actor that you can see what she is thinking. She kissed him very naturally out of instinct, but then she saw love in his eyes and suddenly felt vulnerable which is why she moved away from him. Love frightens her. Such a good movie.
I think Holly was surprised, embarrassed and confused at what she had done. She thought she was going to give Paul a superficial 'luvvie' type kiss; instead her deeper feelings - of which she was unaware - caused the kiss to be something much more tender, meaningful and pleasant than she expected.
Truman Capote wanted Marilyn Monroe to play Holly. He was not happy with the casting of Audrey. She had to have proved him wrong. She was so good as Holly Golightly.
Margaret exactly! I read the book and if they had done the movie the same way, it would have been so boring. Like when I finished the book, I felt so empty, like I had wasted my time or sth, can’t really explain. But they made the movie meaningful, usin the book but also perfecting it. Not just looking at the lives of two people but you can feel the emotions and so on, I love this movie so much that I could go on for days haha

Silk rep tie, blue blazer, white button down shirt. Mr. Peppard has that 60's prep look down cold. It's a great look I might add and one in which I emulate what I get dress up. Own lots of rep ties and button down shirts--American look all the way!!
Alice Christine my favourite scenes as well. I know your comment is like a year old but I always thought it was instant coffee or something lmao I could be wrong but then again I like my wine when I watch Audrey.
In America, the handle for hot is always on the left and the one for cold is always on the right. She turned the left all the way so, it was probably hot.
This is an excellent movie about women behavior ... Holly knew that Paul was the indicated since they first met. All the movie is about a patient woman putting all kinds of obstacles or tests so to know if the guy is up to them. The ending was the confirmation, and still, the patient woman knows how to play along eventhough all was a test. I'm not against that (nor I call this the "friendzone"), just to point out how women play the ball on what could be the homerun of their lives.
When he says, “in a minute.” - Is he mocking her because maybe he feels somewhat insulted that she’d marry him for his money? Or is he serious? Can someone explain please? At this point of the movie, it seems like he’s starting to fall for her (and when you love someone, you wouldn’t marry them for their money.) I’m a bit confused because his expression says otherwise.
