Glenn Steer- Our Mountaineering Experience On Denali, Summer 2023

Summer 2023 brought us to the glaciers of Denali, our goal was to reach the summit of Denali. With our packs on our backs and months of preparation, we set out on a journey ro climb DENALI. We spent 3 weeks on the iconic west buttress route to get turned around at 16,800' because of the weather. Thankful for our lead guide Kyle Horner, and Mountain Trip for keeping us safe on the journey. Lessons were learned and we had a great trip on the mountain.

Wow, you guys are TOUGH!!! I love all of it, the scenery, the toilet, the snow cave, not so much the toothbrushing... Thanks for sharing this adventure, which is the only way I will ever see these great views of Denali! How fabulous that the three of you get to share such extreme (I must say) family adventures. Excellent documentary and captured the true grind of climbing Denali. Had a similar experience in 2017 - beautiful weather up to 14 camp then cold storms for 7 straight days. Made it to 17 camp for 2 miserable nights of -50 windchill then 18 hour death march to base and thankful to get out the next day. Loved the experience but never tempted to go back - much prefer Cordillera Blanca where you can climb 4-5 mountains in the same time for half the cost.

I learned that geography classes in some other countries teach people that Denali & Aconcagua are on the same continent.
