- This week started with rain but the weather improved quickly. The remainder of the week was very sunny. I was able to get the door frames in and many logs notched and installed. Some of the logs I still had to get out of the woods and debarked. I have been trying to use up all the trees that have blown down from winter storms and are standing dead.

Welcome to our channel! After major life events we decided it was time for a change. Join us as we navigate our evolving life. We purchased our Maine property in the fall of 2023. We will be building our 24’x24’ cabin and starting our homestead.
Follow along as we follow God and start this new adventure!
With love,

This will be beautiful when it is all completed.
@@ftloperry Thank you!!
WOW! You are really flying through stacking the logs. Way to Go!!
@@swamprattdoes9754 Thank you! Hopefully we can have it under roof by winter!
I love that you included how long it took you to lay the logs and what you do with the "scrap". Those are the questions that go through my head while watching these type of videos.
Thank you! If you ever have any questions I don’t answer just ask I would be happy to answer anything I can!
This is frontier style homesteading!!! Tremendous amount of work but you're at the fun stage, it's taking shape. Yeah, the debris, I was seeing it pile up and funny, you mentioned it. Keep up the great work!!!! 👊🏼 👍🏼🤙🏼
Yes thank you! It’s more motivating to see it come together!
Great work and utilizing resources on your land! ✝️🙏❤🇺🇸
Thank you!

Our God is great! Blessings to you as well!
Another amazing video!! I enjoy watching the progress of your cabin. Thank you for talking about the windows and the loft I could almost see it. I had never heard of a summer kitchen. You have me hooked for future videos. I am so excited for this journey your family is on. God bless
@@bonzijenn Thank you very much! I think the summer kitchen will be a fun project because it will be a dovetail log addition. I am glad you are enjoying the videos!
If I may make 2 suggestions. 1 - start making a taper table log book for the logs. Include length, then number them. You'll be able to pick size appropriate logs for each course. 2- save 4 long logs to place in the corners outside the cabin to us as gin poles. It will make placing those long top logs and ridge pole much easier for you. Just remember to lean the gin poles in. Keep up the hard work. God bless.
Thank you for sharing!! It is much appreciated!!
Just subscribed for multiple reasons. I'm a fellow logger, believer, and log home builder. The wasp you saw was likely a wood wasp, aka a horntail wasp. The "stringer" is a drill with which they lay eggs in logs. They aren't normally aggressive but they do sting. And if they do you may want to have a list of biblical swear words handy.
Thank you for subscribing! Thank you for the answer on the wasp that is very interesting! This is my 1st log cabin I have built so I am still learning every day.
Pretty good amount of work for one man! I love the drone footage over the river! Which river is that? If you don't mind me asking.✝️🙏❤🇺🇸👣🎶🍍☘🤗
