The Weyland Yutani PMC’s from the Aliens Colonial Marines game have their own version of the APC, and from what I can tell of that one it’s smaller it doesn’t have a command center, but it can still carry troops and instead of one large light it has a row of lights up at front of it, and it seems to have the same armaments as the Marines version, it also could be faster due to the reduced size and having no command center.
Price is a little high..but it looks very nice..and at least someone has made it..don't see a better version anywhere else...a great vehicle if you can afford it....nice review...thanks..
Price is determined by supply and demand, and what the market will bear. Watch American Pickers sometime. A 50 year old rusted road sign can go for thousands of dollars these days. I recently purchased the APC off of Ebay for $340 brand new, gladly, sellers are asking $600 to $900. Sure it may cost $50 to make after $1 million on research and development, but they hit the nail on the head and I'm happy with a realistic model piece of a fantastic movie franchise.
In fact, I find at least two flaws with this APC: In the movie, the vehicle has two levers like steering Wheel, and this model only have one, first, second, the weaposn racks are where the turret controls should be, I mean, is a nice touch that Hiya hat put a weapons rack, but where´s the accuracy?
@PurpleOwlAnimation I do, and I actually built an APC from cardboard inspired in the Aliens vs. Predator 2 PC game, 16 years ago and I did my best to make it look great, of course is not quite accurate and for that I call it "M-578" instead of "M-577", but in it's moment, It had the weapons rack in the same place than this one.
I guess compared to the Hollywood Collectibles APC, which is $500.00 +. That version of the Tank has no led lights' a smaller scale and no movable parts. So I would say, the Hiya one is a better value.
Negative. NECA figures tend to measure at the 7 inch mark in height. Hiya figures are 1/18 scale, or stand around 4 inches in height, or basically the G.I. Joe figure scale before they recently went to 1/12 (6 inch) scale. So this APC is much smaller scale. If it was scaled correctly for NECA figures, it'd be enormous and cost at least $800-$1200 USD, I think.
Ive got a model of this from a company called TAMIYA MODELS, made it back in 1994-5, they also did a smaller scale model i believe it was a diecast model which was some sort of solid metal, i remember marrying it up to the drop ship to make it appear as though it was driving of the ramp then hung it with fishing wire from my bedroom ceiling and then having a nightmare and throwing a cushion at it and destroying it-bummer, this is why you should,nt smoke cannabis, i should of salvaged it.
Hi John I think the metal one wasn’t that by cinemachines which are diecast or the Aoshima version which might be the one you broke with the ramp down and the apc looks like it’s driving down
I am not sure why people are buying this things of ebay for $300 .I guess probably rich people. There are only two on ebay. To me is worth $50. I bought a minimates apc for my GI Joe figures. I took seats off and I can fit 2 figures sitting as long I keep the roof open so the heads stick out so they can see where they are going. It looks just as good as the hiya toys and I only pay $30. I am thinking of using a shoe box painted in black to put more figures inside. I am not sure if the movie one was green.
I'd say the price point would be worth it if we got some of the main cast with it, or that could bump the price up even more. As far as an Aliens APC, I have this to buy, the NECA cinemachines one, and potentially a custom Lego one from instructions online. I know Kenner made something for the Alien film but I don't think it was the APC. I'm a big Aliens fan but this collectible seems super expensive.
This looks pretty cool but I'm put off by the matte black coloring when it should be a dark gray or olive drab color to match the Aliens movie. I'd like to get it when this restocks as I love the film but the price and incorrect coloring is making me hesitate, on top of the lack of accurate Colonial Marines to go with it (I know Hiya made Hudson and Hicks figures but they couldn't get the likenesses of the actors so the toys ended up looking nothing like them except in name).
Here´s a funny thing, years before Hiya even thinked in made this collectible, I made my own APC from Aliens, but using what I call "playmobil scale", made for storage clicks and my own inspired made figures, it was made from cardboard dut it didn't look bad, but I decided to polish the APC ten years ago, and upgrade after upgrade, the APC ended looking pretty well, and with all do respect to Hiya, even better tan this one, of course it have a flaw, doesn't have lights, yet. If you don't believe me, check my Facebook photos, but I hope you spanish is polish facebook.com/R850A/media_set?set=a.10212913507538373&type=3
Probably a must have for the hardcore Aliens collectors but from my perspective it's just an ok toy with a big price tag and takes out a lot of room...
For that price they could have added a bearing into that turret at least to stop the squeak. As long as people pay money for low quality we will keep getting it.
I feel like $300 is a bit too much. I would understand if it was around $100 to $150. Idk i dont really buy vehicles for my figures unless its part of the figure like kamen rider or a transformer.
$300 for this is a joke, I was able to get the Batman TAS Batmobile for $140 with Shipping a few years ago and that thing is 24 inches long with light up features. Hiya Toys doesn't have a clue when it comes to competitive Pricing.
The price that companies and people are asking for toys these days is absolutely ridiculous. For 300, that thing better be remote-controlled and crap silver.
This seems like something that would go for $99 MAYBE $150, very cool but very overpriced, especially at a scale that's not super popular when it comes to the figures
I see they have the driver's side door all wrong because on the original the edges were rounded and on this one they have square sharp edges. I told them about it when they had the Prototype that it was wrong and they said they were going to fix it and I see they didn't.
It looks too black and basic. I know the original vehicle isn't colorful but it would've been nice to see more wear and tear in the black paint. Also it looks a bit flimsy. Should be worth around $200
I Love Aliens but not Worth 300 nor 250 at least 90 Bucks!! just way Overpriced I got The Batmobile for 100 Bucks and it's Remote Control with Smoke Features and Everything that is Worth it!! but this Vehicle Heck no!! and as Always Stay Blessed My Brothers and Sisters in JESUS CHRIST Always
Not worth the price in my opinion. Maybe just $100 and that is too much. I would say $50 would be a more accurate price. And from what I can see it's just plastic. I would understand if it was made of metal or something like that. It's a cool toy.
I'm a massive ALIENS fan (obsessed) and I wouldn't buy this toy. Looks very tacky with too many flimsy parts and too much plastic that just doesn't warrant the ridiculous price tag. I've seen garage kits that put this hunk of junk to shame. Good review but it's "Game over man!" for this APC.

I'd give it $80-100 at most. It's cool but it doesn't warrant the price
You saw the price for the eaglemoss apc?
Well, that's how it is, The Price is Hiya
First glance...looks like a prototype Bat tank from Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns.
Great review. It looks really good. I think $150-$175.
Very pricey... but looks really good
Nice Model.

Gotta agree with everyone else, seems super expensive for what it is.
Not sure how accurate it is to the movie either, looks a little off.
@@r850a161 I counted the rivets and is missing two. Not worth buying for sure.

It could use a lot more weathering overall.
Looks kinda weird but cool in a way
Nice
It’s nice 👍!
It also comes with a figure. and can seat several others.
... Like i said in the review
I Want One for Christmas, Yeah. (smile)
Awesome! I am definitely gonna order this!
$200 at most. I own some rare 1/18 diecast cars costing me $300'ish. And all they do is sit there as display models.
At that price I'd expect it to be an RC vehicle.
I wish it was R/C and didn't open. All my R/C tanks only have electric motors, gearbox, speed controller, receiver servos and battery inside.
BatMan should copy that design for his new BatMobile in DKR3
Just got mine today and the lights on the front side do light up now.. I was not expecting that!
I guess compared to the Hollywood Collectibles APC, which is $500.00 +. That version of the Tank has no led lights' a smaller scale and no movable parts. So I would say, the Hiya one is a better value.
That looks sick! I do collect vehicles like batmobile, ecto-1, airwolf. 300 US is abit (ok a whole bunch) out of my range. :(
I wonder if Hiya will do any Joe vehicles now that they've been doing figures
So is this in Scale for the Neca Aliens figures?
Negative. NECA figures tend to measure at the 7 inch mark in height. Hiya figures are 1/18 scale, or stand around 4 inches in height, or basically the G.I. Joe figure scale before they recently went to 1/12 (6 inch) scale. So this APC is much smaller scale. Yeah worth 100 at least, being that is an APC hypes up the price. Great review nonetheless.
Its fucking gorgeous
I'm an artist, so I could make one out of cardboard with an exacto knife and some glue and paint. For 4.95.
Fair
I'll give you 6 dollars. You have 3 days 🙂
Wow that's huge
I'd buy it, but not for 300 huundred bucks. Maybe for half of the price.
High-end prices takes the fun out of it.
But at least the cost will keep buyers from tank abuse.
As Joe Fans, we’re “used to buying expensive shiiiii.... ships,” yea, that’s it!!

i got the dc collectibles batmobile for 50euros amazon..well worth the money

Where is the engine? May be driven by In wheel motors?
VHS Rewinder for $300
This looks pretty cool but I'm put off by the matte black coloring when it should be a dark gray or olive drab color to match the Aliens movie.

yeah, I want one.. but $300.. man.. $100-$150 I'd jump on immediately..

Could you sit modern gi joes in those seats?
Don't think so
I feel like $300 is a bit too much. I would understand if it was around $100 to $150. Idk i dont really buy vehicles for my figures unless its part of the figure like kamen rider or a transformer.

OK where's the dropship to haul this 😂
The price that companies and people are asking for toys these days is absolutely ridiculous. For 300, that thing better be remote-controlled and crap silver.
Flimsy and floppy AF
*and this is $300 on bigbadtoystore*
This looks toooo much like the gi joe rhino vehicle lol
I'd say $150 is fair for what you'd get especially since it's at the 1/18 scale, but all of the Hiya toys feel overpriced honestly.
It is a nice looking vehicle but $200 too much for me
This seems like something that would go for $99 MAYBE $150, very cool but very overpriced, especially at a scale that's not super popular when it comes to the figures

I will pass! Don't have space for it.
120 dollars tops, no more than that price.
i call that a 50 -100 dollar toy
It has a $2 paint job (plus it's way too dark) & it looks kinda flimsy - $170 would be about right.
Not even 90
Doesn't even comes close to the outlines of the original. Cheapo plastic, low detail.... 330bucks? LOL
Gotta agree. Plus figures themselves aren't too spectacular either.
This is for the people who actually play with their toys and not just display them. Even then its still too much!!
I like it but not for that kind of cash.
Looks cool, not worth the price.
Not worth the price in my opinion. Maybe just $100 and that is too much. I would say $50 would be a more accurate price. And from what I can see it's just plastic. I would understand if it was made of metal or something like that. It's a cool toy.
Looks like it would shatter if dropped. Such a let down. $300 is a joke. I had sturdier action man tanks as a kid. Also why is it black?
It's a cool car, but yeah too expensive
I'm a massive ALIENS fan (obsessed) and I wouldn't buy this toy. Looks very tacky with too many flimsy parts and too much plastic that just doesn't warrant the ridiculous price tag. I've seen garage kits that put this hunk of junk to shame. Good review but it's "Game over man!" for this APC.
$250-$300?! Yikes! You can get much cooler stuff for like $100.
I'm indifferent when it comes to the figures but I think this is cool but not at $300. $100 maybe
