For those unfamiliar with addiction. The time right after rehab is quite dangerous, especially in terms of overdose. Once you’ve had a period of sobriety, when you go back out, you might use the same amount of drugs you were using before, but your unaccustomed body can’t handle it.
exactly and for the user its not an overdose its the normal amount but the body can't handle it anymore. I still think Cory should've been with real friends that day.
It's why it's strongly encouraged to plan ahead for a potential relapse and keep narcan around. People used to think it was "giving them permission to fail" and stuff when really, it's just harm reduction in case they do (and a LOT unfortunately will). Not being ready to overcome addiction shouldn't cost anyone their life if we can prevent it.

i find it so heartwarming and beautiful how much the cast leaned on each other during the time of cory's passing. in naya's memoir, she said her and kevin were both in london when they found out and they immediately called each other and met up. jenna says here that her, chord, and harry were doing the same thing in new york. they all really were there for each other through it all, the good, the bad, everything in between. there's always gonna be something special about the glee cast

I'm so happy, bittersweetly, that in Naya's darkest hour, Cory found her and carried her home. Speaks volumes of his character that he'd share his death date with her recovery date. His mom even mentioned how much he spoke about Naya, and losing her, is like losing a daughter. I miss them more than anything in this world.
If everyone on this cast wrote a book I would read it, I wanted to read Naya's but the audible one and it's still a little hard for me on some days to hear her so I'm still getting there
I encourage you to continue, I found it strangely comforting. It was like she was there talking to me because it's just told in such a natural way. Some parts are hilarious others are full of wisdom, she was a great great lady that will be forever missed.

I'm so glad she didn't use this as an opportunity to trash Lea. I know Lea has said and done things that deserve criticism, but we also have to recognize that people have interior lives we know nothing about. It doesn't excuse bad behavior, but we should be able to empathize, and I so appreciate Jenna being willing to NOT mention it in reference to Cory and instead say she was "the strongest person I know" because Lea coming back for that episode must have been so hard. I really love Jenna in this interview, she's so wholesome and honest and I wish her all the best in the future.
I do tend to wonder if it wasnt as bad in the early seasons because this isn't the first time I've heard people say they made each other better. Also, obviously she had strong friendships during s1-3. She was close with Dianna and Naya until early to mid s4 iirc. She definitely has her issues but I do wonder if she just needed someone to balance her out as well.
I think Ryan Murphy bares some responsibility for creating Lea’s diva behaviors. He singled her out as the star from the beginning. Her already being an only child, I think it just made it easier for her head to become swelled. I actually tuned out for a couple of seasons because I wasn’t interested in the Rachel Berry show.
The show died for me then Not bcz I didn't love glee, it was just too heartbreaking. I couldn't watch. Im just returning to watch the whole series now in mid 2021.
Same. When it was still on the air and he had just passed away, I couldn't believe how much grief I felt for someone I didn't even know! I tried watching the first few episodes after his death and it just wasn't the same. I started rewatching the entire series again this year and honestly, it just feels like there was a major paradigm shift after his death. The quality of the show definitely went downhill, but I'm curious enough now to see where the rest of the characters ended up. Plus, it's even harder now that Naya is also gone.

i know a lot of people question how cory could be with someone like lea and i honestly understand, and even though she was known to be pretty bad before they dated, but i can’t help but feel like he made her better in a way. i mean...i didn’t even know him and he’s undoubtedly inspired me to be better. i really believe that her unpleasant qualities aside, cory saw the good in her….or at least he tried to. because that’s just the type of person i think he was and i love him for it. i believe cory had a personality that just naturally had a positive effect on all those around him. and sometimes i get the feeling that despite being opposites that they balanced each other out. i can’t bring myself to like and support lea after all that’s been revealed about her but i’ll always remember how much i loved their relationship and found comfort in it. when jenna said that they made each other better, that honestly made me feel really at peace. i also like to believe that lea loved him and i could never imagine what losing him must’ve been like for her. i hope she did the best she could to take care of him and be a good partner. i miss him and i miss them. i hope i’m not the only one who thinks so. okay i’m sorry i know this is long and idk how you feel about lea but this is just my two cents and i wanted to get it out there for once! thank you!
@윱윱 i’m honestly not anti rachel berry, but i definitely understand why people don’t like her and where you’re coming from. and if we’re being real, let’s not deny rachel also had good qualities aside from the bad. but all in all, even though i try not to use his death as an excuse for her behavior, i do agree! i think she had a lot of issues taking care of herself (in some pictures after he died, she looks very thin) and i think her mental health went down afterwards. while i will never condone her behavior, i still wish her the best and hope she becomes the best person she can be!

She was in so much pain after he passed I think her cast mates could've given her a pass on her acting out. She had suicidal thoughts and clearly was on some meds. If you watch her interviews for her album after he passed she had dry mouth which is a side effect of certain meds. Think she was probably angry at the world(and maybe Cory too) and unfortunately took it out on others. All of which now she seems to regret. We don't know how we would act if put through something like that
I've never heard of Cory Monteith before the movie Monte Carlo. I saw that movie on HBO around a year and a half ago so to speak. And i saw him in the movie. But at the time i saw the movie, i thought he was taking a break from acting. Or that he was not famous anymore. I say because no one was talking about him. But after i saw Monte Carlo for the first time, i looked him up online and found out that he died back in 2013. I was a kid when Glee came out. And i heard it be talked about a lot. Though not many people talk about it now. But back to Monteith, i never saw any of his work when he was still alive. I really miss him despite the fact that I never saw Glee or any other works from him prior to his death.

Cory was the main reason I kept watching the show when it first came out, despite how much of a garbage character Rachel was (even though I 100% envied her talent, among others). I stopped watching just after the graduation/nationals win finale episode of season 3 because things just weren't the same after the OGs went off to do their own thing. I was devastates when I heard the news and refused to try to finish watching until about 2 years ago. I bawled about as hard as Naya did during her Quarterback performance while watching the episode. It almost hurts to think the cast members (that are) close to each other might not be as close if not for that tragedy. OK, so Jenna makes the comment that Cory and Lea made each other better, which only furthers my belief that I don't think Cory would have been able to be with her for as long as they were together if she was 100% an awful person at the time (I'll give her that she's going to be hard to work with no matter what, Rachel WAS written FOR her). So, did his death cause her so much hurt she became an even worse person? (Not that she doesn't deserve a shot at redemption)
his mother admitted on facebook that he and lea were not going to last but she never really went into any specific details about their relationship. so we don’t really know if lea was a problem or if cory was either. and a lot of people think she got worse after cory passed, but she was also knowingly a pretty unpleasant person beforehand. but no one knows how or even if that had any sorta impact on her relationship with cory and we probably never will know.

@@user-kq4eb6os9s I don't remember where I heard this theory, but I think it's right. We're too focused on Lea because Ryan Murphy and her helped hatch a plan for her to make a comeback. I mean, she has already taken on the rest of the performances for Fanny in Funny Girl. And I don't think we want to be reminded of how problematic Mark was, especially with his storylines that related to it, and we're ashamed we were fans of him. As far as Blake goes, I'm pretty sure he's just shunned period. He did Melissa dirty and she's only been rising in her stardom. I don't think anybody will ever talk about him in any capacity besides "hey, you remember that one guy from Glee?"
@@kamillagirl with all due respect, lea has not worked with ryan since scream queens which ended like six years ago so i don’t really understand how that would work. she moved to NYC after having her baby and he’s still in LA. as for her funny girl casting, there were a lot of mixed opinions about that (understandably so) i do not think lea actually deserves this role like her stans say, i think her casting was a business and marketing decision for the sake of getting money and attention, but time will tell how she treats her colleagues and if she provides a good show; otherwise she can never have a career anymore. and i don’t think it’s very appropriate to constantly connect the cast’s real lives to their character’s storylines regardless of how eerie it may sound. the show has no control of what happens with these people. and that’s not 100 percent true about blake; as much as i would like for it to be. he’s still attending events and being casted in movies even after admitting to abusing melissa, unfortunately.
I’ve been binge watching again recently. It’s hard at times. His death hit me hard. Both losing him and Finn … It’s not like I knew him but there was something so tragic and heartbreaking about it all. It’s bittersweet watching the show but as sad as it is,the show is still great.
Glee should have ended when Rachel arrives In NYC, but it was such a cash cow they kept going. Nice to have all the songs, but it didn't do its stars ,Cory, and Lea. I think people blamed Lea for "not saving him" which made it a cluster$&#*.
I'm not sure how much I've mentioned this because I'm so in love with Jenna Uscowich, Tina is my favorite character and Jenna is my favorite person on glee.

Hello, I'm here because I really want to know how is Cory died. This time I spend my day to watch glee and I really love Cory as a Finn. Before I know he was died, I have a dream to meet him and talking a lot with him. After I know he's died, I'm very dissapointed and i cried for severals day. Now I'm still thinking about Cory and my brain can't stop to do it. I really love him and hope one day I can meet him in the heaven😇
I guessed he was on drugs because he kept disappearing, in the story, during Season 4. He was even credited in episodes, at the end of Season 4, but was absent. His dramatic weight loss kind of gave the game away and it's so sad. He seemed so lovely and was beautiful. I don't doubt Mark Salling encouraged the drug use, like he tried to do with Naya.
She could have meant she was in New York alone as in not traveling and staying with someone. That’s what I interpreted at least. Then she meat up with cord and Harry once she heard the news who also happened to be in nyc separately.
I believe they were recently engaged or talking marriage, but they hadn’t set a date that was a rumor. They did live together though, so I can’t imagine her going back to their home afterwards.
@@valentinafangirling she said it in a Facebook group run by her friend in response to why someone asked why no Monchele posts were allowed (this was at the end of a long back and forth between someone asking and the friend repeating the group rules): "Cory, my son, opened his heart to me about that relationship...it was never going to be what the fans anticipated...he did not have the heart to hurt..." Lea wasn't on the trip at any point. They had been to Vancouver skiing in the past but not on that trip. Lea was at home in LA having a girls weekend when he died, it was their final week of break before going back to work on the new season of Glee. Obviously I don't know for sure why she wasn't there but based on Corys own mothers words, it sounds like they were close to a breakup.

and a lot of people think she got worse after cory passed, but she was also knowingly a pretty unpleasant person beforehand. but no one knows how or even if that had any sorta impact on her relationship with cory and we probably never will know.

I know she was a generally unpleasant person beforehand, but it is good to hear somebody say they made each other better. Maybe that's why he was able to be with her then?

@@kamillagirl tbh it’s not that surprising for someone as amazing as him to even be friends with someone like her and imo i also think it’s unrealistic to be victimizing cory against her as if he only should’ve surrounded himself with “good people”. he had already knew who she was and still dated her. i obviously can’t speak on why he liked her or what he saw in her but it really doesn’t matter anymore. and he was also friends with other problematic glee cast members like mark salling and blake jenner…but no one ever mentions that because seems like everyone is too focused on lea
@@user-kq4eb6os9s I don't remember where I heard this theory, but I think it's right. We're too focused on Lea because Ryan Murphy and her helped hatch a plan for her to make a comeback. I mean, she has already taken on the rest of the performances for Fanny in Funny Girl. And I don't think we want to be reminded of how problematic Mark was, especially with his storylines that related to it, and we're ashamed we were fans of him. As far as Blake goes, I'm pretty sure he's just shunned period. He did Melissa dirty and she's only been rising in her stardom. I don't think anybody will ever talk about him in any capacity besides "hey, you remember that one guy from Glee?"
@@kamillagirl with all due respect, lea has not worked with ryan since scream queens which ended like six years ago so i don’t really understand how that would work. she moved to NYC after having her baby and he’s still in LA. as for her funny girl casting, there were a lot of mixed opinions about that (understandably so) i do not think lea actually deserves this role like her stans say, i think her casting was a business and marketing decision for the sake of getting money and attention, but time will tell how she treats her colleagues and if she provides a good show; otherwise she can never have a career anymore.
and i don’t think it’s very appropriate to constantly connect the cast’s real lives to their character’s storylines regardless of how eerie it may sound. the show has no control of what happens with these people.
and that’s not 100 percent true about blake; as much as i would like for it to be. he’s still attending events and being casted in movies even after admitting to abusing melissa, unfortunately.

I’ve been binge watching again recently. It’s hard at times. His death hit me hard. Both losing him and Finn … It’s not like I knew him but there was something so tragic and heartbreaking about it all. It’s bittersweet watching the show but as sad as it is,the show is still great.

Glee should have ended when Rachel arrives In NYC, but it was such a cash cow they kept going. Nice to have all the songs, but it didn't do its stars ,Cory, and Lea. I think people blamed Lea for "not saving him" which made it a cluster$&#*.

Hello, I'm here because I really want to know how is Cory died. This time I spend my day to watch glee and I really love Cory as a Finn. Before I know he was died, I have a dream to meet him and talking a lot with him. After I know he's died, I'm very dissapointed and i cried for severals day. Now I'm still thinking about Cory and my brain can't stop to do it. I really love him and hope one day I can meet him in the heaven😇

I guessed he was on drugs because he kept disappearing, in the story, during Season 4. He was even credited in episodes, at the end of Season 4, but was absent. His dramatic weight loss kind of gave the game away and it's so sad. He seemed so lovely and was beautiful. I don't doubt Mark Salling encouraged the drug use, like he tried to do with Naya.

They were recently engaged forsure idk about a wedding.
I believe they were recently engaged or talking marriage, but they hadn’t set a date that was a rumor. They did live together though, so I can’t imagine her going back to their home afterwards.

Lea wasn't on the trip at any point. They had been to Vancouver skiing in the past but not on that trip. Lea was at home in LA having a girls weekend when he died, it was their final week of break before going back to work on the new season of Glee. Obviously I don't know for sure why she wasn't there but based on Corys own mothers words, it sounds like they were close to a breakup.
