Plane spotting at Austin International Airport on a beautiful day offers an exciting experience for aviation enthusiasts. From the observation Family Viewing area, you can witness a diverse range of aircraft, including mainline carriers, regional jets, private jets and also a variety of Cargo Planes, as they arrive and depart from the runway. RWYs 18L - 36R and 18R - 36L. The skyline view adds to the picturesque setting, providing a stunning backdrop for spotting activities. Additionally, if you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of some military aircrafts like I was able to see in this video that you are about to watch, an Army Boeing CH-47F Chinook helicopter, adding a touch of military aviation to the mix.

Man I fly almost weekly for work and I've probably taken 300+ flights since 2022 connections and return flights included and even at age 36 I still enjoy being able to see planes takes. San Antonio International is good for this especially terminal B and I still like looking at clouds and the ground from my window seats lol.

Did you have to use a tall tripod to get over the barbed wire?
We are coming out in a few weeks, to take my son to tour the Baylor Aviation program. We plan on plane spotting for a few hours and I will be bringing my fx3 w/telephoto, so was just curious.
