Enjoyed the video a lot. Would it be possible to get more videos like this covering the royals that don’t get much coverage, like Princess Anne and Sophie the Duchess of Edinburgh? It would be really nice to see you pick out some of your favourite hats worn by other European royals too, and perhaps some royals further afield.
Hello! I am so glad you enjoyed my video 😊 Thank you for your suggestions - some of these are already in the works. I hadn't thought of doing Sophie - I will add her to my list. I don't know much about the European Royals, but I was thinking of looking at Princess Mary of Denmark 👒
The Royal Ascot square black and white number is by far and away my fave hat she ever wore. She does have a fitting challenge with so many of her outfits as weve talked about before. However that Philip Treacy hat, i'm constantly in awe of its construction and balance as a piece of art. I also adore your little robin hood number youre wearing here - just too cute!
Hello Illona: The emerald green outfit and matching hat was my favorite. Now, I have been watching your videos for some time now and it finally occurred to me that you remind me of someone; my favorite American actress from back in the day: Mary Tyler Moore. She was very elegant like yourself. Thanks for the insight and looking forward to your next video. ☺
I like the wispy, whimsical blue fascinator. I also like the Phillip Treacy teardrop worn with the black turtleneck dress, but I wish it had been in a color (for a different occasion, of course, not a solemn one) that would contrast with her hair so the shape and embellishments were easier to see.
Out of interest, what type of hat and mechanism of it staying on your head would you recommend for someone with short hair (i.e a short pixie cut) ? I love the look of many hats but can’t really see a way of wearing them without elastics showing etc.
Hello! Great question! Have a look at any hats that are set on headbands - sometimes button hats can be on metal headbands instead of the elastic. Also any have with a wire frame hats such as vintage calot half hats : see this video th-cam.com/video/7fFIpG-SXCs/w-d-xo.html
@@ByIlonaMillinery Dear Ilona, When the Princess of Wales is styled with her full name, it's spelled with C, not K. So, while she is called "Kate" by most media, the proper way to refer to her should be Catherine, Princess of Wales. I'm only mentioning it so you take it into consideration as you write the title/thumbnail for the video about her hats. (I can't wait! I have a few favorites: a red one with a maple leaves she wore during a tour of Canada, an off-white one, with a very contoured brim, that she wore at Ascot 2016, a royal blue that looks like felt or wool and has embellishments at the crown and below the brim, a black one that was dramatically upturned and had a single curly feather detail (at the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme) a brown velvet pillbox 2012 St. Patrick's Day...oh, so many!)
From one 'ilona' to another, Bravo! i love hats also, and am learning how to wear them. Your critiques add to my ability to put it together! Greetings from Ohio, USA! Oh, and my favorite outfit was the green ensemble, where she's walking out with Harry. BOOM!
Th e olive outfit was for a chrisenting and the correct color pallett was pastels. And the navy tht you like was for Trouping. It was meant for evening.
That was fascinating! I don’t like the emerald green hat at all. I didn’t actually like anything about the outfit except the colour. I think the last hat was my favourite.
Hi, Thank you for an other lesson in hats. Hmm I can't really say I have opinions on the hats. As I think I understood you say, is that a hat can't stand or fall on it's own, but is very integral part of a look. Mostly. I tend to like the wide brimmed dark number, going with the gray coat. Maybe because I can see myself in something like that. As I'm still new in this sport of Hats And How To Use Them, I really enjoy the analysis that you give for the why something works, or not as case may be. It's very good study material for me as you commentary is so straight to the point and with exempels. Yours, Ann
I appreciated the simple, professional and impartial critique/analysis of Princess Meghan Markle's hats, especially in contrast to her accompanying outfits with respect to colors, textures, angles and cuts, etc Again, Thank You
I absolutely loved this video. I am ashamed to say that, try as I may, I have not been able to acquire a taste for Meghan Markle. I have really tried not to be judgmental so I will keep working on that. I think when she sat with Oprah and spoke ill of the Queen and other members of the Royal Family that became the proverbial straw that broke the camels back for me. I laughed so hard when you previewed what I have called the "poo hat" from day one. For the life of me I will never understand why she chose that hat to wear. I bet she regrets it now. Anyway, I loved the way you are able to match the perfect hat with the outfit. And I love the hat you are wearing too. It suits you so well. Just lovely. Thank you for these "hat critique" videos...I LOVE them and can't wait for more.
I enjoyed your assessment, even though I do not care for her fashion sense. Your changes were very good. I love your hat and think it looks really beautiful on you…♥️
the green Kermit outfit was for Commonwealth day and she was supposed to wear red white or blue to reflect the colors of the Flag. And nothing fits her and her pany lines show.
I think I recall reading somewhere that Meghan was trying to not stand out, so she wore a lot of beige & cream initially but only started wearing (her preferred) stronger colours after they left the UK.
I’m sure she did struggle to figure out how to dress appropriately for her royal duties, as anyone would who isn’t used to such strict rules and scrutiny, but she’s worn so much beige, tan and cream since returning to the States I think that’s just a line she threw out there during her interviews.
I have always thought Meghan couldn't pull off a headpece, hat, fascinator,...however you wanna call it for the life of her, just because she is an American and these were made only for British people to wear flawlessly. Particularly Queen Katie. Prove me wrong with this video?
I think Meghan could have more more color. The brown poo hat was the wrong color and style. I am surprised no one tells her when an outfit doesn't look good.
dont you look adorable! I call the brown hat the poop emoji hat. The green outfit looks like Kermit the Frog. She never takes anyone else's advice. Some of the outfits are ok but not correct for the occasions.

I agree too. Doing a hat video on the various other Royals would be so interesting.
The sleeve at 5:30 is called a bracelet sleeve

Your look was my favourite by far! But I guess that's not fair, you are the expert after all
I personally like the mature toddler look (dragonfly)

Really enjoyed that , thank you. I adore pill box hats . Actually, I just adore hats. 🙏🙏👵🇦🇺
Thank you, I enjoy when you chose one woman and show her different hats.
Hello! Thank you so much for your feedback! I plan on doing similar videos for Princesses Catherine and Diana 😊

I don't like wide-brimmed hats much at all. I love the type of hat that sits close to the head. Great video!
I actually kinda like the first hat, though I understand why others might not. 😅
I enjoyed this video ❤!

Amazing video, such a fashion knowledge! Very pleasant to watch 💜
I find the emerald green outfit suits her very nicely. Love your hat!
Terrific video! Thank you!

PS Love your hat in the video. Please can we have a talk through on this one too 🙏
I think I recall reading somewhere that Meghan was trying to not stand out, so she wore a lot of beige & cream initially but only started wearing (her preferred) stronger colours after they left the UK.
She’s worn nothing but beige since she moved to Montecito. Nothing that comes out of her mouth can be relied upon.

Ilona, I think my favourite look in this video is you. I really enjoyed looking at you in that hat with your hair styled like that. ❤

Notice you like I love Stephen Jones. The boater is my favorite hat of all time!
I adore her, her hats are outstanding.
Also if her clothes were tailored to her she would get less criticism. Also I feel the heat color for her is any sort of blue!
She is NOT a duchess anymore
I dont think M should wear back or navy hats. They blend into her hair too much
I think Meghan could have more more color. The brown poo hat was the wrong color and style. I am surprised no one tells her when an outfit doesn't look good.
Forgive me but the suggested changes look comical.
She should have lost her title when they turned their back on his family and country.😏
👒
To me, she always wore cow poop 💩 hats. Or floppy wide brim hats (aka: yacht hats). Wow, you just said the same thing!!! Lol
