I remember, when I was little, my mom and sister and I would wait at home for my dad to call from the masjid where he was doing I’tikaf, to hear about when Eid would be and whether we would be seeing my dad and celebrating Eid that night or not…SubhanAllah, there is truly no excitement like the excitement of a young child! 😊

    BENEFITS OF ISTIGHFAR
►Istighfar removes anxiety and Du'as are answered.
►Istighfar opens the door of sustenance.
►Istighfar opens the door of mercy.
►Istighfar opens the door of knowledge.
►Istighfar is also gateway of productivity !
►Istighfar relieves you when you feel that sadness within you, when you are disturbed and frustrated, and also when anxiety surrounds you. Always say Astaghfirullah Astaghfirullah…
    ~~Don’t leave Istighfar
    A man once came to
al-Hasan al-Basri and complained to him: “The sky does not shower us with rain.”
He replied: “Seek Allah’s forgiveness (i.e. say أستغفر ألله).”
Then another person came to him and said, “I complain of poverty.” He replied: “Seek Allah’s forgiveness.”
Then another person came to him and complained, “My wife is barren; she cannot bear children.” He replied:
    “Seek Allah’s forgiveness.”
The people who were present, said to al-Hasan: “Everytime a person came to you complaining, you instructed them to seek Allah’s forgiveness?”
Al-Hasan al-Basri said, “Have you not read the statement of Allah? ‘I said “
Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Truly He is Oft-Forgiving. He will send rain to you in abundance; increase you in wealth and children; grant you gardens and bestow on you rivers.”‘” [Nuh (71):10-12]
There are two things in the earth that give a person safety and security from the punishment of Allah.
The first has been removed, whilst the second still remains.
As for the first, it was the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). “Allah would not punish them while you were among them.” [al-Anfal (8):33]
As for the second, it is istighfar. “Allah would not punish them as long as they sought forgiveness.” [al-Anfal (8):33] أستغفر ألله… أستغفر ألله… أستغفر ألله…
    Do not ever leave istighfar!
Please share and remember that you will receive the reward for all those who make istighfar, due to your reminder.
    Astaghfirullaaha wa ‘atoobu ‘ilayhi.
I seek the forgiveness of Allah and repent to Him.
(Recite one hundred times during the day)
It was reported in Saheeh Muslim that Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) said: “I seek forgiveness one hundred times in a day.” [Muslim]
    Du'a for seeking forgiveness:
    Dua of Prophet Adam (A.S.)
Rabbana zalamna anfusana wa in lam taghfirlana watar hamna lana koonanna minal khasireen [7:23]
”Our Lord ! we have sinned against ourselves and unless You grant us forgiveness and bestow Your mercy upon us, we shall most certainly be lost."
    رَبَّنا ظَلَمنا أَنفُسَنا وَإِن لَم تَغفِر لَنا وَتَرحَمنا لَنَكونَنَّ مِنَ الخٰسِرينَ
    [SURAH AL-A`RAF, VERSE 23]
Du'a of Yunus (A.S) repenting to Allah in the belly of the whale:

LAA ILAAHA ILLAA ANTA SUBHAANAKA INNY KUNTU MINATHAULIMEEN” [21:87]
“There is none worthy of worship except You. You are pure. Verily I am amongst the oppressors.” [Al-‘Anbya’ 87]
Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said about the Invocation of Yunus “None who is experiencing difficulty employs it except that Allah would relieve him of his difficulty.” [At-Tirmidhi]
Nooh (A.S) asked for the forgiveness of Allaah The Almighty, repenting by saying:
Rabbi Inneee A-o’od’u Bika An As-alaka Maa Laysa Lee Bihee I’lm Wa Illaa Taghfirlee Wa Tarh’amneee Akum Minal Khaasireen [11:47]
“My Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking that of which I have no knowledge. And unless You forgive me and have mercy upon me, I will be among the losers.” (Surat Hūd, 11: 47)
We must recite this dua’a to have full faith in the wisdom of Allah under all good and bad circumstances because Allah is all-knowing; and humbly seek His help to keep ourselves on the right path.
Say: Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun, tuhibbul-‘afwa, fa’fu ‘anni.
(O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness; so forgive me).
Say: Astaghfirullah al-ladhi la ilaha illa huwal hayyul qayyum wa atubu ilayhi
It says in hadith, whoever says it seven times his sins will be forgiven even if he should have run away from the battlefield.
    Say: SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi
Whoever says it hundred times, his sins will be forgiven even though they may be as much as the foam of the sea.
Say: la ilaha illallahu wahdahu la shareeka lah lahul mulku wa lahaul hamdu wa huwa a la kuli shay’in qadeer.
And say the many other forms of repentance that are prescribed by Allah.
ALLAH HAS FULL ABILITY TO GIVE YOU ANYTHING YOU WANT! AND ONLY HE (ALLAH) HAS THAT ABILITY.
The Prophet ﷺ said, “Verily your Lord is Generous and Shy.
If His servant raises his hands to Him (in supplication).
He becomes shy to return them empty.” [Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi]

Shk YQ and all the learned scholars across the world who are 1000 times more knowledgeable than us have been analysing this for years. If they have made a decision that is different to the ‘old way’ then we have to trust their judgement and follow our scholars wholeheartedly.
If they are right they get 2 rewards and if they are wrong they get 1 reward, (as long as the ruling has been made for the sake of the Allah, the Ummah and not for personal or worldly gain) we average Muslims have nothing to lose.
Some questions people may be asking...
The small knowledge that I have is that I know the physical world is not always 100% equal to the equations we have,
so how accurate has calculations been i.e. calculated sighting vs actual sighting over the last 10yrs, has it been 100%? (If it’s cloudy take a balloon over the clouds).
The moon is only visible on certain nights to certain parts of the world on that particular night, with calculations does that mean different parts of the world will have slightly different calendar dates?
What happens if your calculated calendar is +1 days to Saudi on the day of Arafat?
From Shk YQ’s Seerah lectures, we learnt that the pre islamic arabs used to mess around with the months until no one really knew what the real month was (not that they used it much for anything else but to raid and fight). The months were corrected by Allah and confirmed by the Prophet (pbuh) in his farewell sermon. If I’m right then a calculated lunar month is always 29 days, very very rare is it 30 days... is this not messing about with the months again but on a very less blatant level for benefits of logistical reasons?
Calculations make sense, it’s more organised and muslims will appear more organised to the West but it will be sad to lose that bit of magic... the excitement and anticipation of whether tomorrow is Eid or not. Is it worth the chaos the next day? probably not.
It’s time to move on insha’Allah

  • @asherkhan7197

Can the Ulema calculate what the weather will be months or years out. Even if they could would they say that it is certain and that Allah does not have the power to change forecasts. The Arabs were one of the best at astronomy in the time of the prophet pbuh, why didn’t our beloved prophet not go to the astrologers to get moon predictions. Arabs were the best at navigation , using the stars etc Does the science of astrology supersede the power of Allah, na-auzubillah.

    • @coop6428

@@peacebeuponhim2011why see it when it can be calculated? Do you see the position of sun before stop eating at suhoor? Or go out at zohar to see suns position to determine salat time? Most likely you either look at the watch or have an azan app on phone (unless you are in a Muslim country with azan coming from nearby mosque) so why is it that actual fard worship like salat could be performed using calculations but moon sightings which is not even a worship (it an indicator of start of a month) requires this whole debate.

Eye opener explanation, jazakallahu khairan... I stand with the opinion of calculations... Shahi al Bukhari hadiths said about Moon sighting. My question is if there are any hadith said in modern times some of the Hadith will be invalid. Such as the moonlight Hadith? The global moon sighting was not there about 35 years ago. Immigrant people started this issue. Because it fulfills their needs and how to take the day off from work in a Muslim country. USA gave the bait that if you come up with a one day we will give you a federal holiday like Christmas. So Muslim are changing as Jews and Christians changed their books. So today's Muslims are not different from Jews and Christians. All same....

This is great and a difference of opinion is fine, but unfortunately, the root cause of the fitna is with masajid where they openly say "we follow the sunnah regardless of unity", and unfortunately there are many of them around. There seems to be almost no reason not to follow calculations at this point, so I think we need to put more effort in "dawah" to the masajid and communities that don't see the clear advantages of it and inshaaAllah work towards full unity.

      ### An appeal to Muslim Leaders and Clerics
      Al-Qayyim Hijri Calendar - التقويم القَيِّم
التقويم الهجري الموحد على توقيت مكة والهلال
Unified Hijri calendar based on Makkah Time and Hilal.
      "جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْكَعْبَةَ ٱلْبَيْتَ ٱلْحَرَامَ قِيَٰمًا لِّلنَّاسِ..."
"Allah has appointed the Ka'bah, the Sacred House, as standard for humanity..." - (Quran 5:97)
      **Assalamu Alaikum,**
Happy New Year! Muharram 1st, 1446 H, will be on Sunday, July 7, Insha Allah.
It is the right time to publish the new Hijri Calendar for 1446 H world wide.
There are many proposals regarding the calendar criteria. Listing some of them below:
      a. After conjunction somewhere on the globe, at local sunset, the angle between the sun and the moon should be at least 8° and the moon should be at least 5° above the horizon.
      b. On the new moon day, if the moon is born before sunset at Makkah and the moonset is after sunset, then the month starts on that night.
      c. The month starts the next day of conjunction if the conjunction happens before 12 UT.
      d. The month starts the next day of conjunction.
After many prayers and deeper analysis & research on the topic, both Islamically and scientifically, we reached the following conclusion:
If conjunction (new moon, moon birth) happens before Makkah Prime Meridian (MPM, i.e., the longitude passing through Kaaba), the next day will be the first day of the new month.
      ### Equation in MT (Makkah Time).
      If (conjunction_time_MT < 12MT)
      first_day = conjunction_day + 1
      else
      first_day = conjunction_day + 2
      ### Equation in UT (Universal Time)
      If (conjunction_time_ut < 09:20:42UT)
      first_day = conjunction_day + 1
      else
      first_day = conjunction_day + 2
      ### Examples:
**Eg 1:** If conjunction occurs on Monday at 9 UT, since this is less than 09:20:42 UT, Tuesday will be the first day of the month.
**Eg 2:** If conjunction occurs on Monday at 20 UT, since this is greater than 09:20:42 UT, Wednesday will be the first day of the month.
      ### This is the most suitable criteria for an Islamic calendar:
      - This is the global version of the Umm al-Qura Calendar criteria, and most of the time, both dates will match.
      - The moon will be visible or will be mature for visibility due to the following reasons
      - The moon elongation will be around 9.15 degrees, i.e., [(18 / 24) * 12.2].
      - The moonset lag will be at least 36.6 minutes, i.e., [4 x 9.15].
      - The moon age will be at least 18 hours when it reaches the Qibla Date Line (QDL, i.e., the longitude passing through the Qibla Changing Point).
      - If the starting point of Tawaf is at the Hajar al-Aswad, we can start the month if the sun and moon come directly on or before the Makkah Prime Meridian.
      - This will provide a clear halfway point in the 24-hour day, balancing the day globally.
      - Here, conjunction is happening before the world enters a new calendar day.
      - This allows both the Eastern and Western Hemispheres to have a fair chance to observe the new moon on the same date; hence, the new moon will be recognized uniformly around the world. At least 75% of the Earth will experience sunset only after the conjunction, and the moon will set after sunset in major parts of the world, mainly at MPM.
      - The conjunction occurs before the Makkah Prime Meridian, the center of the Earth, i.e., before the Qibla Date Line crosses the Isha end time (Nisful-Lail) or before QDL enters a new astronomical day.
So, we appeal to all Muslim leaders to take this proposal into consideration and publish the Hijri Calendar accordingly.
Note: Please help us spread this message of unity to as many Muslim leaders as possible.

What type of unity are you talking about using calculation instead of moon sighting which is the basic sunnah of our beloved prophet s.a.w. the purpose of astronomical calculation is to negate the false sighting and to implement it as a sheria and complitly ignord the sighting of the crescent moon is going against the teaching of quraan sura al baqara 189 sunnah of our beloved prophet said fast when you see the moon and break your fast when yuo see the moon sahih al bukhari and sahihi muslim let me give an example saud arabia pre calculated ummul quraa does not rely on actual visual of the moon and the judical council anounces that the moon have been sighted according to ummul quraa calendar and yet there is no moon and the news travel very fast that the moon have been sighted in saud arabia now can you see the cosiquences of using pre caculted calendar and ignoringsighting of the moon which is the basic sunnah of our prophet and the teaching of the quraan

Why your every evidence is from a scholars of Islam scholars of Islam are not . guided by The Almighty Allah but the prophet was guided by Almighty Allah your every evidence should be from the prophet of Allah not from a normal human being because Allah guided our prophet Muhammad. And we have authentic proof of that in Al Quran. ."Ati`oollah wa Ati`oo 'r-Rasoola . surah an Nisa 4/59. So your every evidence should be from the prophet of Allah And Sahih hadees not from someone's opinion because there are so many opinion in our Islam and we can manipulate those opinion according to our stand. From your own word about zakat obligatory on jewellery if I am against of this then I am gonna to use the other three imams opinion and if I am in favour of it then I am gonna use imam Abu Hanifa opinion. So you can understand your every evidence should be from the prophet of Allah his Sahi hadees.

Dalil of calculation is surat Yunus ayat 5

Assalaamalaikum. "READ!" is the first word sent by the Almighty to mankind. Many muslims are not aware, that there are several different scientific definitions of the "new moon" or "born of the moon", including the definition given by the Profit. Which of these definitions are you using and why?? One thing should be clear, that making a calculation, just eliminates the need of the moon to exist. You understand the consequence? Watching the moon gives us another moment to admire Allah SWT's creation. Alhamdulillah.

Interestingly, hadiths misunderstood 1400 years! So the entire Muslim Religion needs editing. Interest (Riba) should be Hallal.
