Watching her "train" is sort of hard to believe and watch. Shes done so much action and training that even when she tries to look like shes learning and making mistakes - it still looks effortless
Also in terms of traveling and attack, these creatures don't make sense. It's like a giant dinosaur not a worm. Moving underground would be so much slower and less efficient than just being in the surface. Like it's not a streamline creature at all. Swimming through sand would be so slow for it

The one thing that turned me off of this movie is that they used the Isekai trope. If it was the classic progression of a beginner and their first hunt, I would have been perfectly fine with the movie. The Isekai'd trope makes me think "How many more people has that happened to, how many survived, and how long has it been going on."
yeah....and of COURSE all modern weaponry is nigh useless in the face of swords with funky elemental effects. yyyyyup. If they had half a brain, it should have been the other way around...modern tech works just FINE...until you're out of ammo. Which would be a big problem for an isolated squad on a world they know nothing about. but the other way around? please. the site would be contained, they'd have entire artillery batteries built up around the gate in 6 months...by the one year mark they'd already be making plans to exploit the new world. THAT would make for an interesting movie/series.
those who are saying the entire movie was a low-rank quest....imagine there WAS a war between the two worlds..and the way the other one wins is by kiting one of the BIG boys through the gate. this breaks the defences earth forces have set up long enough to destabilize it and close the door..and lets a small horde that will be ransacking the ecosytem for decades if not centuries to come through as an extra "f*** you" to the opportunists who thought they could plunder at will with no consequences. Of course the movie would end with earth scientists trying to reverse engineer the tech/magic that built the gate in the first place. Of course given that the location of the gate was in the middle east..you'd probably also get to have earth forces dealing with terrorists weaponizing the kaiju. imagine a few eggs from one of those bug colonies smuggled into new york and left in the sewers. nom nom nom.

Yea, it would have of moved off to find food. It’s the director, he claimed to be a fan, but took a lot of liberties, to the point other fans involved pointed out his errors. Like Nerscylla, they don’t swarm, and unless it’s a variant, they don’t live in the desert.
