It was in Salem modern theatres, they met together at the behest of Ka. Mu. Sherif and CS Jayaraman in 1950s. Their friendship ensued well till Anna abdicated separatist ideology. Kannadasan along with EVK Sampath antagonized Anna and advocated nationalistic path to take forward nascent DMK. Though Kavignar and Kalaignar were an inseparable friends, the political landscape defined by ideology and Anna's alleged nonchalance towards Kavignar, entry of celluloid figures all repelled Kavignar to jump the ship. He latter joined EVK Sampath before Anna ascended to power in 1967 but they proved a flop in politics.

It was in Salem modern theatres, they met together at the behest of Ka. Mu. Sherif and CS Jayaraman in 1950s. Their friendship ensued well till Anna abdicated separatist ideology. Kannadasan along with EVK Sampath antagonized Anna and advocated nationalistic path to take forward nascent DMK. Though Kavignar and Kalaignar were an inseparable friends, the political landscape defined by ideology and Anna's alleged nonchalance towards Kavignar, entry of celluloid figures all repelled Kavignar to jump the ship. He latter joined EVK Sampath before Anna ascended to power in 1967 but they proved a flop in politics.

Sir,
Kavignar and Kalaignar nurtured an excellent friendship though political waters were choppy and boisterous. They never traded each other about their friendship since from modern theatres to well past ascendency of DMK into power. Rather Kavignar exposed his depression and disappointment over prevailed political scenarios and dog-eat-dog competion where he found jilted, betrayed and dejected.
