@@WoodCarvingWeekly Thank YOU for watching!
Thank you Jack ..nevr heard of the DMT ..but thank you anyway ..God Bless you and love the channel
Thanks for your comment Gene. So far it seems like the DMT Wave is not a very popular product among woodcarvers. Happy carving!
Great show! I love to watch Bob & Brad. They also have some good videos on strengthening your hands and addressing tennis elbow.
Yes, they have some great videos. I was sad to learn about Bob’s illness.
@@WoodCarvingWeekly Yes, It was sad to see that. I really enjoy seeing their natural banter in the older videos.
Me too. Hoping Bob can find a therapy or medicine that can help him.
🤗 Hi Jack, thanks for your comment on my article! I have never seen this DMT wave either, yet I have been doing a lot of research these days to make my guide as inclusive as possible! Of course the premises are not the best but I am very curious about it!!! I hope someone will try it or comment on this video so we will know more!!! Ciao! 😘
Hi Sara! I think your sharpening guide is excellent! Hopefully someone will be able to share their experience with the DMT Wave. I’ll make sure to follow up with any information that I receive. Happy carving!😘
Thanks Cousin Jack!
My pleasure Brandon, thanks for watching Cousin!
I have a DMT Wave I've had it about six months. I don't really care for it for maintaining tools, but for fixing a damaged edge it's pretty nice.
Hi Charles! I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts about the DMT Wave. Do you find that the abrasive surface is suited more for removing lots of metal?
@@WoodCarvingWeekly I have the fine and could definitely stand to have something more coarse, but right now I only see them selling the fine and extra fine. However, the fine at least helps to make a more consistent primary bevel with fewer muscle memory problems. Personally this is what I've struggled with most when fixing a carving gouge so it's a benefit to me.
Hello Jack. About a year ago, I came across the DMT wave while researching sharpening methods. The thing I disliked just seeing the picture was the changing curve. There is only one point of full contact for every tool. So I mailed the store to find out more. They had the one in stock for years and never sold a single piece. Like you, I found no useful information and didn't want to spend the money on it. Still don't see it as an upgrade to my leather coverd dowels to strop the inside of a gouge and the straight sharpening stone to hone the bevel. Hope there are viewers with more info.
Hello Erik! Thanks very much for sharing your experience and your insights. You make a great point regarding the single point of full contact and the limitations created by the wave width. Perhaps the DMT Wave is a mystery due to its unpopularity. Seems like very few people want/use the Wave. Thanks again for your comment and happy carving!
