I think Moby has accepted the position he's in more so than relish in it. They are both politically outspoken and naturally that comes with discontent from people. I would actually wager Eminem is preferential to people hating him than Moby because hate fuels Eminem's fire from within. It's relevant by just looking at Eminem's lyrics in contrast to Moby's lyrics.
When moby started talking about that I knew he was really in recovery that experience of what it’s like going to someone you very well know hates your guts and going to any length to make it right powerful stuff 😊
Moby literally admitted he “provoked” em first…… and steve and his crew literally had to put effort into getting it out of moby. Now I understand why people would not like moby as a person. Moby would have blue hair today if he wasnt old as fuck.
Eminem wrote a brilliant diss about Moby because of what he said. It was nothing more than that. And to a lot of people it was light hearted and funny. Some may have taken it further, but I'd guess the majority of listeners didn't.
Light hearted??? Do you not remember the time he called Moby a little girl and threatened to hit him? By the way, this was on stage at the 2002 MTV Awards during his award speech.
It's as simple as ANYONE who provokes eminem he went after them. Christina Aguilera criticized eminem for the same reason and so he dissed her too it's that simple
I think Moby is feigning a bit of cluelessness and innocence on how things went down. If people had patted him on the back for saying that about Em, for standing up to the 'macho bully' as some people might see it, he'd be recalling these events differently. He injected his opinion about someone else's art, and he learned not to do it again. Moby has a track record of taking liberties when painting his pictures of history.
Moby was just talking shit about Eminem and it hit Eminem’s radar that’s why Em had to respond. He didn’t diss Moby for nothing. Eminem was very clear between dissing someone who he really despises and people who’s name just happen to rhyme with a lot of things. Moby can’t turn the narrative on this.
People still think Eminem disses people just because......most times Em disses someone on a record is because they've wronged him in a certain way. Whether you agree with him doing it or not is another topic, but he always has a reason.
Something i have always hated with my entire being is this notion Because someone seems HaRmLeSs and doesn't seem tough they can just talk shi without any repercussions . its genuinely weird as f*ck. Moby was talking insane about him on a national f*cking stage . THATS why eminem went at him. wtf
Eminiem has admitted that sometimes it's unfortunate for people if their name rhymes well with something lol. But in this instance, there was at least reason.
I see a bit of upside in Moby nowadays. Now 22 years removed from his feud with Eminem, he finally looks his age. He looked like he was pushing 60 back when Em was like "You 36 year old f*g blow me". I remembering seeing Moby and being like, really 36? Moby will get to be a 36 year old f*g for the rest of his life, thanks to Eminem. I mean honestly, Moby should be thanking Eminem for making him relavent when the music industry had a sudden desire to relaunch techno music for maybe a year or two, but it was quickly decided that it was not enough to have longevity. It's the only time in my knowledge that Moby was actually relavent. No wonder Eminem didn't fuck with Moby since then because he was only relavent in my lifetime in 2002-2003, and he was only relavent cause Eminem dissed him. Have never listened to one of Moby's creations, just remember comparing him to Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan who already looked like senior citizens in their 30s. Finally Moby's physical appearance makes sense to me! Personally, I still want to see Eminem and Christina Aguilera finally work out their sexual frustration with each other. Em had a cush on Christina and Britney IMO Can't blame him, I did too, and was also a white rapper during that era.Provided I was underaged back then , but still a white rapper lol
Eminem is weak. He only went after people who he thought would just take his abuse lying down. You notice he never went after people like The Rock or anyone that do some actually damage
Moby probably said something about em being vulgar or hateful. And em decided to shoot back. I can't see eminem bashing moby without moby saying something about em first. I'm pretty sure em didn't start shit with moby unprovoked. I could be wrong tho.

What's fascinating is that as the story unfolded it goes from a gangster rapper bullying Moby, to Moby publicly criticising a man's art, calling him a misogynistic homophobe and suggesting he's a closeted homosexual. On top of that you did it to someone who makes jokes professionally. It was a comedian who Moby tried to use as a way to grandstand, and Eminem's response was to publicly roast you. What also amazes me is so so many supposed artists don't understand his self deprovating humour that's a hallmark of his style. They point out that he's picking on the little guy that it's something they have cleverly spotted and not on purpose. He picks on the weak because he himself is insecure and cowardly... thats the joke.
Eminem was a full blown alcoholic/addict narcissist back when he wrote those lyrics. Now M is a recovering addict/alcoholic! Moby is a genius. His music is incredible!!!!
I don't think he's a narcissist. I'm not saying he was perfect but he is a pretty humble guy compared to most people at that level of fame and he puts the needs of people he cares about above himself. For pretty much any award he wins his speeches are just thanking the fans and the people that helped him even though the moment is for him, for the rock and roll hall of fame he just listed out all the rappers that influenced him growing up and thanked them. A few years ago he was able to perform at the SuperBowl with Dr Dre but Eminem was going to decline unless they allowed him to have 50 Cent perform with him and gave up being able to perform a 2nd song because of the time constraint. When his daughter became homecoming queen he just watched from a school classroom to not take the moment away from her. He was on Mike Tyson's podcast and said he feels like his biggest accomplishment is raising his kids. I just very strongly and respectfully disagree that he's a narcissist because if he was he would try to make every moment about himself. I felt like he went too far with the situation with Moby but I think he is a good person and has also matured as he's gotten older.
When I watch Steve-O like this and remember his famous "masterpieces" with bulls, bees, and everything that can rip a head off, gives me some kind of...hope in humanity. Even if everyone is killing each other nowadays (2024).
But he continued to diss one of them for making it personal about his family life which he talked about in his records, but eventually he felt like he regretted those disses and apologized to her and gave her a hug
People don't like Moby for the simple reason that he's a regular, straightforward, down-to-earth guy who doesn't even try to be a big, flamboyant personality either on or off stage. In an industry driven by big personalities, with loyal fanbases who buy the records more because of their adulation for the star than the music itself, that makes Moby seem (to them), like a sort of non-entity, and they percieve that as uncool. It's actually incredibly shallow, and a damning indictment of our pop culture that such a thoroughly decent human being could recieve so much hate, merely for letting the music speak for itself. Keep doing you, Richard, and ignore the haters. 👊

His music for the film, Heat, was amazing and elevated the film overall.

Em attacked everyone that said something about him at that time. Moby started it. And he got it
lol Moby literally started it by talking shit
True. Also he said that at grammys and what he said is bullshit. Now he plays victim card. Lmao at that bald turd.
Criticising things you're legitimately concerned about is not the same as a personal attack. The fact he didn't have any reasonable arguments back, shows em knew he was in the wrong, he was just personally offended and had an anger management issue.
I'm saying that as an old eminem listener. But I'm not braindead enough to defend my "idol" at every point, like you stans do.

plus moby made a comments on eminem multiple times back in the day and eminem was just responding in his own crazy funny way.
eminem sucks @@slowlynow9
@@slowlynow9from what i've seen all moby did was say that eminem has problematic lyrics which is a fact. he's always relied on being controversial. he did say that he's still talented, he just noted that he felt weird about his homophobic lyrics. funny enough eminem then responded by calling moby the f slur. in most cases all of eminems feuds are because he decided to blow things out of proportion.
I find it disgusting personally, when people act like the victim rather than just be honest
Yo, Eminem and Moby doing Step 9 together would be fucking wild.

I always felt it was light hearted and funny as well. I suspected no real animosity.
Yea it's always the fans that take shit too far (well not always, but almost haha)
😂Nostalgia, I am going to listen to it again now. Eminem 🐐
Light hearted??? Do you not remember the time he called Moby a little girl and threatened to hit him? By the way, this was on stage at the 2002 MTV Awards during his award speech.
@@banx757 Em fans overlook those moments. Em was acting real emotional and immature for a 30 year old to do something like that.

Moby never commented on rappers using homophobic language or being misogynistic, until Eminem. 👁👃🏼🐈
This type of “why is he picking on me?” Self victimization from people who pick the fights the lose drives me crazy. If you start it stand by it.
Moby isn’t telling the truth. Moby told the record label not to sign him because of the lyrical contexts. Em knew about it and hated him ever since.
sure. musicians call the shots for record labels.
People still think Eminem disses people just because......most times Em disses someone on a record is because they've wronged him in a certain way.
Whether you agree with him doing it or not is another topic, but he always has a reason.
Steve-o is high as fuck. Eminem didn't take the L 💯

Something i have always hated with my entire being is this notion Because someone seems HaRmLeSs and doesn't seem tough they can just talk shi without any repercussions . its genuinely weird as f*ck. Moby was talking insane about him on a national f*cking stage . THATS why eminem went at him. wtf
Mobys music is really fucking good. Em might of just used his name to Rhyme with Obie in a bar.
When Steve'O says Eminem he sounds a little bit like Ken Kaniff 😁

I only know who Moby is because of Eminem.

@@tmm4195 Lmfao. No one is fully recovered. 🤣🤣. It’s a one day at a time program because their is no cure for the disease.
Eminem is a narcissist? Since when? Stop using mental illness terms for character
"....well, I kind of provoked him...", so, Em didn't diss out of nowhere. Like he never does.

When I watch Steve-O like this and remember his famous "masterpieces" with bulls, bees, and everything that can rip a head off, gives me some kind of...hope in humanity. Even if everyone is killing each other nowadays (2024).
Em dissed pop stars to distance himself from being labeled as one.
